Jensen moved through the rubble of Kaesong. After having taken out the 7 commanders the men had narrowly avoided capture by a North Korean armoured patrol. But now they had reached their target building. This would give them excellent view of the entire city, and the carnage that was unfolding at the bridges. -------------- "2 Kirks just ahead." Okse and his men quickly took them down with their silenced pistols. The death of Lylloff had hit the unit hard. But they had already taken out 2 SAM's and a small fuel depot. The men were low on ammo and water. It wouldnt be long before they would head back to the building and rally with the Major. A shot scraped off a tree just in front of the point man, then the North Korean patrol opened fire. "If i live that long" Okse though as he fired a burst into the charging enemy. ---------- The Kirks were now quite a bit ahead of the Jægers. Nielsø sat with his 7 men and they got their breath back. Private Mikkel was changing the barrel for his M/62. It had overheated and he was running out of ammo. He had to remove its scope because of some returning fire. "Okay guys, Bravo is taking a lot of the heat. I want concentrated fire on the guys that leave their cover. Make them keep their heads down" Nielsø changed the magazine for his MSG 90. And got ready to fire as the 8 men took up position again. 1-3: Little effect as the KPA doesnt notice that they loose some men at the back. 4-6: Medium effect. The KPA take few casulties but discover the location of the Jægers. They send units towards them, taking some heat off bravo 7-10: Good effect. The KPA take cover as machinegun fire impact the ground around them. They are now under suppressive fire and have a hard tinme returning fire You rolled a: 2! |

United States Marine Core, Force Recon, Team Zulu Captain Paul 'Viper' Ford "Hawk 6, this is Zulu Actual. We're on route to your position now, ETA 5 minutes. Do you Copy. Over." The Captain got a fierce reply back from the Brit commander, who he could barely here above the sound of gunfire in the background, shouting something back about how they had taken their time. In fact the Force Recon lads had come as fast they could, only stopping to refuel at the FOB just over the border, and even they changed the fuel in record time. They were in 4 man Humvees, with 50cal's mounted on the top, along with all their personal equipment, they hoped to be doing hit and run raids on the enemy: employing devastating fire power before backing off and repeating. It was a solid tactic. As the 100 Humvees rounded the edge of the city, they saw the Para's all spread out, some on the bridges and some had taken positions on the hills, all raining down fire and death on the enemy. "This is Zulu Actual to all vectors, Lieutenant Shaw is gonna take half of you down to the frontline and I will take the rear half to where their CO is. Over." All the other commanders checked in, and the lead half of the forces sped off past the first Paras to where a Major was and the Captain pulled up next to the Colonel's position, with all his other Humvees forming a defensive lines. All the 50cal gunners opened up on the Kirks who were trying to cross a river, zapping rounds into and around them, as Captain Ford jumped out and ran to the Colonel. 1-2: The 50cal's go off target and only the water is struck by the rounds. 3-5: The fire is devastating and 25 Kirk are either dead or wounded. 6-7: The fire only hits some of the Kirk, killing 4 and wounding 6. 8-10: The fire is hugely effective not only taking out 20 in the river, but also killing 5 and wounding 7 on the bridge. "no good LT. They dont notice their men dropping!" Nielsø cursed and shot a Kirk Sergeant trying to mount a machinegun behind a bush. "Ok guys! We go mobile!" The men all did what they were told and started packing up. Nielsø removed the scope from his MSG 90, and the support legs for the M/62's were taken off. Then the Jægers charged down opening fire on the move. 1: The North Koreans discover them and open fire on the Jægers 2-4: The KPA doesnt notice this and keep their concentration on Bravo 5-10: The KPA come under immense fire and are stunned by the 8 advancing men who seem like a whole company. They take cover. You rolled a: 8! |

Major Turney was pumping bullets into the Kirk trying to cross the bridge. He had just picked one off who was trying to pick his way through the barbed wire. The HMG and Mortars were over-heating, the wounded were screaming, and men were running back and forth. Then the Yanks arrived. "Great he muttered to his men- Yanks, and even worse, they are Marines!" They arrived in their jeeps and started raining hell of the Kirk, killing about 30 more. "Alright Yanks- bout damn time!!" he shouted. Meanwhile, at Hill 272, Colonel Richardson was speaking to a Yank named Captain Ford. They were good soldiers, Richardson knew that from his time in Afghanistan and Iraq. "Glad you could make" he said. "I have a platoon about 4.5 clicks NE of here by a river crossing. They could do with some reinforcements. Get on it. And good luck!!!" Lt.Eru was firing from his slit-trench as the first Kirk waded into the water. The HMG's were literally mowing them down. A man next to him was in the upper thigh. Eru ran over to him and screamed for a medic. Eru was then hit in the shoulder. To make matters worse, the first Kirk had nearly reached their shores..... Lt.Eru brushed off the medic and continued firing. He ordered his men to fix bayonets. They had taken 5 casualties, not including him, 1 on whom had died. The Kirk were within 20 meters of his men. About 10 of them rushed a trench and hand-to-hand fighting broke out. 1-4= Kirk manage to over-run the trench. 5-10= The Kirk are killed You rolled a: 5! |

The 10 Kirk rush the trench nearest the water and hand-to-hand fighting breaks out. He watches are the Kirk are destroyed by Paras, screaming at the top of their lungs- slashing with bayonets. 1 Para goes down, but he is quickly replaced, until only 2 kirk are left in the Trench. They try to run away but are shot. That makes 6 wounded and 1 dead. There is still about 60 Kirk wading across. Edited by Finn 1939, Apr 7 2009, 02:37 PM.

United States Marine Core, Force Recon, Team Zulu Captain Paul 'Viper' Ford They were motoring full throttle towards the lone platoons position, who were heavily pinned down as the Kirks crossed the river and began to take cover on the embankment. The 20 Humvees the Captain had brought with him, churned to a halt where the platoon were trying to return fire although a few of them were injured. "Nick, your the medic go get to those men and patch them up," Ford shouted to his medic in the lead humvee. Most of his men bailed out and began to pour fire onto the Kirks, while the heavy gunners remained on the mounted 50 caliber machine guns and began to lay down covering fire for the brits to be moved back and treated. The captain saw a kirk trying to take cover behind a boulder and squeezed the trigger twice putting a double tap, right through his chest. They had outflanked the kirk and were beginning to beat them back. 1-3: The enemy fight on doggedly and two marines are wounded. 4-6: The enemy are beaten back, but do not surrender. 7-10: The enemy take huge amounts of fire and lose many men, they begin to surrender at this position. Lt.Eru watched as the Marine bailed out and started blowing the shit out of Kirk. 1 of the casualties had just passed away, making 2 dead and 6 wounded. He carried on firing. The Kirk were down to about 40 men. Some had started to wade back and try and run away, the rest continued to fight. Meanwhile: Bravo were getting their casualties off the line. They had taken 50 Kirk POW's, and another 100 Kirk had managed to run away. That left about 150 Kirk dead or wounded in front of them. Not bad for 8 dead and 16 wounded he tryed to reason with himself. The men were exhausted. They had recovered Sgt.Stroud's body. Around him lay 3 dead Kirk, and he had about 3 stab wounds. Robertson received a radio call from Major Turney explaining the situation and saying they had repelled the attack. They had done a bloody fine job. But Lt.Eru was still battling hard at the river-crossing, but it looked like the Kirk were about to fall back. Lt.Eru pumped several more rounds into a near-by Kirk. They started to run away, but didn't get far across the river before they were killed. 10 Kirk were taken prisoner. He walked around and checked his men. They had 3 dead and 5 wounded, including himself. He went to finally get his wound checked out. The pain only just set in as the adrenalin died down. When Robertson heard of Lt.Eru's deeds, he put him in for the Gallantry Cross. Eru had also fought hard the previous night against the assault. He also put forward a VC for Sgt.Stroud, and several other Gallantry crosses for other heroic actions. He wished he could give medals to all his boys- but unfortunately it didn't work that way. Hopefully the worst of the fighting on this assault was over now. They would probably have the mundane task of watching the line for several more days, before they could get some rest. |

United States Marine Core, Force Recon, Team Zulu Captain Paul 'Viper' Ford Ford had done what the Marines did best, gone in hit the enemy hard and withdrawn, only taking two casualties. He had left 10 Humvee's by the lone platoon and with 30 of the vehicles with the Major, the other 60 were with him, heading back towards the rear of the city. The Field Marshal, who the Captain only knew by reputation, had fulfilled that reputation for being tactically aware by now telling the Marines to box off the rear of the city. Not only would this stop a large force of enemy coming from the north to take back the city but it also stopped any fighters trying to escape the city, while the combined infantry and armor plowed through the city. Ford lit a cigarette and then went round the back of the Humvee, where his 25 year old driver, Cpl. Dave Broker was sitting against the wheel carving into what looked like a rifle with his knife. "Dave, what the hell are you doing?" Ford asked. "Its a Dragunov see, and I'm carving my name into the stock so people know its mine," he said, holding up the rifle enthusiastically. He was also one of the best snipers in Zulu team and Ford wasn't surprised he was trying to collect sniping memorabilia from the trip, but I didn't want him using it. "Ok you can keep it Dave, but you better not start firing that thing. Your M40 is perfectly good as a rifle, so just don't start confusing us from where the enemy is. Ok?" "Fine," he said and waited until the Captain looked like he was out of earshot before whispering, "Well not while your around." "I heard that," chuckled the Captain, carrying on walking towards the next vehicle. It was a long day and his men were tired, after checking up on them he would try and get some sleep in the mid-afternoon sun. |
