I was once a Pretorian, I was once a writer, I was once child, I was once a fighter. Im overjoyed to see all of you still keeping the Pretorian dream alive despite all the hardships that have come upon this community. I may not be a Pretorian anymore, but I dont think the Pretorians even exist anymore. What does exist is an outstanding group of individuals who continue to uphold the values that forged the Pretorian Division. Good to see you guys. | |

I played it a while ago and loved it. Had a fun time as the Romans and Greeks, and a bloody hard time as the Gauls and Germans (Always end up with serious money issues- the units are great though) I never did get round to playing Carthage though |

So far I played as macedonians and now Carthage. As the macs I really was cheap, conquered greeks very quicly, I had a massive source of income, from there the Romans were crushed very easily. I made alliances with Ptoelmaic empire and Carthage. So the Selucids, Armenia, Pontus, illyrians and thrace fell quick. Still before i got around to winning I saved over my campaign ![]() This campaign is much harder, I gave Romans time to build up, so i hit numidia and spain first. Then Romans hit sicily and now we are in full blown war

TBH, I usually get bored before I have a chance to win. I usually just set my own little goals and play until I have achieved them. I remember I did have a hard time as the Greeks against the Macedonians the first time I played, but I played the Greek campaign a second time. Best to hit the Macedonians as early as possible or they end up unstoppable. In fact, in your Carthage campaign, if you have any goals to expand east you are probably in for a long hard fight against them. On the battlefield, I much prefer playing as the Barbarian factions. Its fun and usually, when fighting the more 'civilized' world, you have to be really cunning and sneaky to win your battles. The Germans are great for hit and run as nearly every unit doubles as skirmishers. Edited by Finn 1939, Mar 2 2009, 08:54 PM.

When I played RTW I was the greeks. I drove the Macs out of Greece and into North Africa .... it was weird but cool. I usually play MII:TW now anyways. my Holy English Empire (self titled). Goes pretty much everywhere. I own Spain, France, Germany, England, Scotland, Ireland, Denmark, Poland and Im expanding eastward fighting the Danes who are hold up in Russia and the rest of Scandinavia at the moment. Pretty much everyone else Im fighting is in the far east though. Dont want to have to fight the bloody mongols though. |
