"Copy that going in for full unloading of armaments onto the taliban line. ETA on first drop 30 seconds. Over."

1-5: All taliban are wiped out with no wounded getting up and retreating.
6-10: Nearly all taliban wiped out, but many wounded began making their way back to the town.

You rolled a: 10!

"Lets get back to those Mastiffs lads. You two, take Harry"

Harry was in a lot of pain, but was in a stable condition.

"Foxtrot, listen up. I want 1st and 2nd Platoons, along with 2 Section of the Snipers in those APC's, we are heading back to base- the rest of you. You will stay here and look after Alpha until further orders. Move out, you have done a great job today"

Most of Foxtrot piled into the Mastiffs and Warriors, and made there way across the desert back to the FOB. It had been one hell of a day. Village 3 was secured, 20-30 Taliban were dead and some weapons had been confiscated. It was the kind of fighting that everyone had signed up for. Thank god Harry was the only casualty, he would be fine.

They arrived at the FOB, and all set off for a nice cuppa and some rest

It had been 2 days since Operation Sandstorm, and Alpha and Charlie had been stationed in Copenhagen ever since. It couldn't stay that way. Major Travish had served in Afghanistan several times before, and he knew that as soon as they moved out of that village, the Taliban would back, and they would punish anyone suspected of sympathizing with us.

Not only that, we still hadn't been into town. It was still early days here, and the action so far had been nothing compared to what would come later.

Travish ordered another rotation of the snipers and mortars stationed on M.Belfast. There was also a bastard sniper who had been taking pot-shots at the FOB for nearly 2 days now- it was only a matter of time till he got someone. Foxtrot's snipers had been on the look out for him, but have had no luck. Travish just hoped we would bag him before he bagged one of us

*Colonel Slater sat down at his desk and began to write his After Action Report for the day after all the hostile action that had occured, this would be sent to all the company commanders*

To all company commanders of the 3rd Joint Operations Mechanized Battalion,

After action report of Operation Sandstorm:

On Day 10 of Operation Apex, the Operation code named 'Sandstorm' reached the final days of planning and was ready to go by 17:00 hours. Operation Sandstorm was the plan to retake Village 3, now named Copenhagen, after the ambushed patrol on Day 5 of the deployment. It would involve Alpha, Charlie and Foxtrot companies all working in conjuction with each other, to draw out and eliminate the Taliban forces in the area.

At 17:15 hours, Alpha company moved out of the FOB in a convoy with a total of 4 Piranhas, 3 Eagle IV's and 4 squads of infantry equipped with Carl Gustavs and MG3's, who took up a position outside Village 2, hoping to draw out the Taliban into the open. At the same time, Foxtrot company moved it's Mortar and Sniper platoons onto positions on Mount Belfast, while it's Anti-Armour and Recon platoons got ready to move behind it. Armed men approached from Village 2 and Alpha were cleared to engage, opening up on the enemy with 50 caliber machine guns while infantry deployed from the vehicles. The Taliban were caught in the open and 3 were confirmed KIA and 4 more wounded, which caused them to run for the cover of a compound.

Foxtrot's snipers on Mount Belfast, reported reinforcements emerging from Copenhagen and Alpha was ordered to increase the intensity of their fire. The Taliban took servere casualties, with 5 more KIA and 3 wounded and therefore began retreating further south, the reinforcements engaging in a firefight with Alpha company. Foxtrot company's patrol force then entered Copenhagen, while the main Taliban force was distracted fighting Alpha company. As the Recon platoon moved into the village from the North East and Anti-Armour moved in from the North, Recon platoon were ambushed by a Taliban force from multiple sides. Although Mortar platoon opened fire, no Taliban were injured and then AA platoon came under fire from compounds aswell.

Alpha began to advance on the Copenhagen reinforcements, and the Taliban began to retreat fearing another similar massacre by the vehicles. Alpha called in a fire mission from the 105mm RHA, on the retreating enemy on grid square Echo-Bravo-Zulu-Niner-Fifteen, sending 10 shells. This killed all retreating taliban, thought to be 7 in number and no wounded were seen leaving. Alpha were then dispatched to go and help Foxtrot's patrol force in Copenhagen, as a Foxtrot Sniper took out another Taliban in a ditch. One man in AA platoon fired a Javelin at a Taliban Compound, causing 2 KIA and a further 4 wounded, but the firefight raged on. Charlie Company was dispatched to Village 1 to provide covering fire, as Alpha began firing on the Taliban compounds, causing 1 KIA and four wounded. The Taliban then began to retreat south.

A Harrier GR8, callsign Topman, was called in to take out the retreating Taliban and because of how spread out they were, he was forced to unload all ordanance to take out the enemy. He fired for effect along line Golf-Zero and this killed nearly all the retreating Taliban, however 7 were seeing retreated wounded. Foxtrot retreated their patrol force with only one casualty, Private Harry Perry and he was stabilised, before being flown to Camp Bastion later. The Operation was deemed a success after Alpha and Bravo companies took up positions in the village for the night. Casualties for the operation were:

Taliban:

23-26 KIA
22-28 wounded.

Colonel Richard Slater, Battalion Commander.

(Another great AAR path, im really enjoying reading these)

Major Kahlke finished the AAR. The returned to his aide who talked about an incoming call.
The Major picked up the phone. It was from Bastion.
"Hello son, this is Colonel Kristiansen, commander of Battle Group Center"
Kahlke realised the voice, it was his old superior.
"Kim you bastard, what are you up too?"
They had served together in Team 4 back on 2007-08.
"I read the Report from your latest engagement, looks like you are going into heavy combat"
Kahlke picked up a list his aide had given him.
"Yeah, my men are all perfectly capable of the task if thats what your asking"
He looked at the list, thats when he realised why the Colonel had called him.
"Listen Kahlke, the Parlaiment has seen it necessary to make sure all our boys in combat are safe. Especially your Pninf'er. So we are exchanging your Piranhas for M113's. Just like we did with Team 6"
M113's. That would mean extra firepower and protection, but would slow the company down. Kahlke could now choose between speed or protection.
"Yes sir, i will be looking forward to see the M113's arrival. Thank you sir"
The colonel hung up. Alpha was about to get better
