Hello, and welcome to the Kitty Café! (No relation to these Kitty Cafés.) This thread is where we keep our rules and FAQ, if you couldn't tell by the title of the topic. Our rules should be simple enough, so please be sure to follow them. Failure to do so will result in punishment from warnings to suspension or even a permanent ban. #1. You must love cats! Okay, you actually don't have to love cats to be able to join, but it'd kind of help. There are boards for lovers of other animals as well, so anyone who likes the fuzzy, the feathery and the scaly (and everything in between!) is welcome. #2.Don't be Kenny Glenn. Or Weston. Because they hate cats. (Warning: Link has disturbing and upsetting images, sort of NSFW.) #3. Be polite to other members. We are all here to enjoy the forum, so please do not ruin it for anyone by insulting them. If you dislike one of our members, there's always the handy "ignore" feature that allows you to not see their posts; problem solved! #4. Have a problem? Contact a mod. If one of our members is actively harassing you, please contact a member of our staff immediately. Be sure to forward the offending PM or report the post so that we have evidence of their abuse. If you just have a minor issue or want to ask a question, you may also contact a staff member. #5. Do not mini-mod. See a rule-breaking post? Click the "report" button and let the mods handle it. If you try to deal with the situation yourself, you will receive a warning. #6. Stay on topic. If a thread is about tomatoes, don't bring up potatoes unless your post still relates to tomatoes. (For example, "I prefer potatoes over tomatoes" is fine, but just "I like potatoes" is not.) In short, make your posts relevant to the topic at hand. A few off-topic posts every once in a while is fine, as we can all linger off the on-topic path at times, but repeat instances of going off-topic might result in a warning. The only exception to this rule is the Can of Spam, where you can derail topics as much as you want. #7. Place your topics in the right sections. If you want to start a thread about cats, you wouldn't place it in a section for topics about dogs. Each section has a description that lists what kind of topics can be posted, so please be sure to read them. #8. Do not post illegal material. Content such as warez, cracks, ROMs, MP3s of copyrighted music and other illegal material are strictly prohibited and may not be posted or asked for. Material containing pornography, extreme violence or hate speech of any kind is also not allowed. #9. Do not spam. Unless you're posting in the Can of Spam, we do not appreciate useless messages. Please make sure that your posts have at least some kind of substance. If you would like to advertise your website, please do so in the Nearby Billboard. #10. Try not to double post. While accidents happen and you might create two posts instead of one without meaning to, deliberately making another post right after you have made a previous one in the same thread is frowned upon unless the topic has not been posted on for one day or if you're updating your art, story or other such topic. The "edit" button is there for a reason, so please use it. #11. If a section has its own rules, read them. Some sections have their own rules, so please be sure to read and follow them as well if you're planning on posting in that particular area. #12. Do not reply to trolls or spam bots. If you see a troll or spam bot, report their posts instead of replying to them. In the case of the former, they want you to reply; getting angry means they win. #13. We are not your personal army. You may not ask the members of this forum to flame or troll another person or website. On a related note, you are also not allowed to use this forum as your personal diary; don't whine about how your life "sucks" on here. ZetaBoards allows members to have their own blogs, so if you would like to vent please do so on yours. New rules may be added at any time. If anymore are made, please be sure to check them. |
