From the sounds of it, there were internal divisions on whether to ax Kish at ABC. I do think it's worth writing GLAAD for this reason. The blogger we might try to interest is John Aravosis at Americablog. He orchestrated the Stop Dr Laura campaign - and that was ultimately successful. |

Sometimes, over the past few days, I can't decide what would be worse: Having Kish end up like Nuke on ATWT, in batshit crazy storylines that boast little to no shown affection, or having what we got with Kish, the lovemaking scene, the kisses, the affection/general caring about each other this couple seems to show in every scene, only to have them disappear. Sure, Luke and Noah were on the screen, but I for one lost interest in that storyline after the whole Ameera fiasco & basically nothing by way of affection between the 2 for months on end. This never happened for me with Kish. I always loved them, right from the beginning. I could feel the palpable weight of their history when Fish said "Don't call me that" when Kyle called him Oliver for the first time on screen; I loved them even when Fish was denying who he was & not being the nicest to Kyle. Kyle, and I, knew why he was like that, and it made sense, and I could see the underlying love there always regardless of the actual words...I dunno...*shrugs and ponders more* :dunno: ETA: This isn't to say that I want Kish off at all. I don't, and I'll write telling TPTB how angry I am about them getting axed. I was just pondering on how OLTL hasn't been given the chance to ruin Kish for me like AtWT pretty much did with Nuke. "From the sounds of it, there were internal divisions on whether to ax Kish at ABC. I do think it's worth writing GLAAD for this reason. " ^ my thing is though....that the show got bad reactions from the kish storyline (at least during the wedding stuff) they caved into all the negative feedback. that said, let's say GLAAD does get on their asses. fine. maybe OLTL will ask them back to get people off their back but the damage, to me...has been done. they caved in once to ignorance and they can do it again and could probably spin it like "oh well this time, we had no choice but to let them go..." i dont even want ABC as a network to get in trouble or whatever. frons is the man i think who calls the final shots. not ABC |

Story is on Perez Hilton: http://perezhilton.com/2010-03-11-gay-romance-written-off-of-one-life-to-live I left a comment. (That site really has horrible commenters). |

wondered when Perez would take notice. And hey, the commenters always suck ass on perez. It's why i stopped looking at the comments after a couple of times. They can be dim witts. |

Just finished watching MODERN FAMILY. Is the differential that great between folks who watch soaps and sitcoms??? What am I missing here. And HiddenVixen, I'd rather what we've had - a complete story with KISH that really broke ground in so many ways. I'm upset as hell that they're gone, but I wouldn't trade a moment of KISH for the 3 years that Nuke have been on. I mean, if Kyle and Oliver ended up as adoptive brothers like Luke and Noah did? Hell no. We'll always have this story, and even fucking Frons can't take the last 10 months away from us. |

Folks who comment on Perez's site are true flotsam and jetsam, IMHO. |

I guess that's the point - they caved to ignorance, and if they get pressure from the other side, they cave to that. This story makes them look awful (if they'd said it was a business decision to cut payroll it would have been totally different). People tend to write and call when they are mad - and don't when they are happy with the show. So they didn't hear from Kish fans when they needed to (in support of the coming out story, and the first ever sex scene between two men on Daytime). |
