Watching that interview was like a punch to the gut. It, more than anything that has happened since the announcement, really made me realize just what we are losing here... :( |

I posted this in a separate thread, but @ 6, call or listen in to TvTalk Radio. They will be discussing Kish. http://s1.zetaboards.com/Kishmet/topic/3039150/1/ |

Not sure if this has been posted... SOAP CENTRAL LIVE / TOMORROW @ 6P ET/3P PT Soap journalist Michael Fairman visits Soap Central Live to discuss the Emmy prenoms, Y&R's recast mania, the end of OLTL's Kish, a new Bianca on AMC, and more. |

This is really really disappointing news. Scott Evans is actually a distant cousin of mine and I started watching OLTL last year, around Halloween time, because I had just heard that he was an actor on the show. I personally was never a soap fan, but felt I needed to watch to support my cousin. And I got hooked immediately on the Kish storyline and they became the main reason why I enjoyed watching the show. It was a breath of fresh air to see a gay couple shown in such a normal light on TV, as opposed to outlandish and almost cartoonish gay couples that I feel are too often shown on TV. But now with this news that their story is ending so abruptly... it's heartwrenching. I was so looking forward to seeing them possibly getting custody of Sierra Rose and raising her together, it would've made for such a great storyline. This was a bad, bad move on the producers' part, and I truly feel sorry for both Scott and Brett Claywell that they had to find out online. It's so insulting. I am very disappointed in Brian Frons I know that the ultimate decision was his, why he felt that Kish didn't connect with mainstream is maybe because he didn't connect but just because he didn't connect (even though he has the authority) doesn't mean that this decision had to have been made. I do hope that we can do something about this because if Kish are not on I'm not watching. |

from what i've gotten from my source and as others have said.....sadly, the negative reaction was too much...as were the decline in ratings (which doesn't make sense, but whatever) |

I still question ABC's ability to pinpoint the ratings decline as attributable SOLELY to this one storyline that doesn't dominate air time. KISH weren't on a lot during November and December, but Todd/Daniella/Tea/Blair and Mitch's shenanigans sure were. Add the insufferable Rex/Gigi story to that list. |

they should have been just backburned for a while. even now, the show should say "ok, we're just gonna have you backburned for a month or so, then we'll slowly bring you back in..." instead of just throwing in the towel. but they're not core characters or whatever, so to hell with it all, right? i swear man... |

Yeah, if anything I'd think the ratings in Nov/Dec were definitely a result of the overlong Todd/Tea/Dani/Ross stuff. 2010 is shaping up to be an awful year for gay representation on daytime television. Kish kaboshed, Luke and Noah off in September, and Eden Riegel signed to Y&R. I'm sick over all of this, but Kish hurts most. They're not even getting a good-bye. |
