We are organizing on Livejournal. I started a new topic thread, but will add what I said here. Because of spoilers - which at this point even if you are a spoilerphobe, you should read because we need you now - Kish fandom needs to act ASAP with a massive letter writing and phone call onslaught to ABC daytime in New York. It may not work, but we can let them know our feelings on their idiotic decision. Please post the address for ABC on all pertinent boards (ABC soaps, SoD, etc.) and get as many people to write in as possible. (My dogs will be sending in a letter! *g*) Address your letter to Mr. Frank Valentini, executive producer of OLTL. We want one person to get the mail. Address: Mr. Frank Valentini, Executive Producer c/o One Life to Live, ABC-TV 77 West 66th St. New York, NY 10023 When I am in New York next week for the SoapNet/AIDS charity event that Scott is performing in I am thinking of stopping by the OLTL offices and dropping off a gift for Frank Valentini. No, not a bad gift. *g* More like a dozen red roses. I did this many years ago for the SOS Cupid campaign and it got a mention in Variety. Publicity never hurts. (If you can think of a more "Kish" related gift, PM me on Livejournal. I am open to all suggestions.) Lasha Kyle_Fish Moderator Livejournal http://community.livejournal.com/kyle_fish/ |

But why make piecemeal casting announcements rather than just delivering the news in one swift blow? That I don't get. And I do not appreciate Michael Logan's wording that excludes non LGBT's as viewers of the KISH storyline nor do I believe Logan thought through his theory as to why KISH was canceled, i.e., making KISH the ratings scapegoats. Not trying to shoot the messenger, but saying something like this: "A case of gay overkill? Perhaps." WTF. |

Yeah I think the axe has come down on OLTL or soon will. This is all way too fishy will all the departures from the show. |

Wonderful letter, Tony. Might I suggest putting it in writing and sending it to everyone of those IIC at ABC? |

They should give them a good sendoff...something along the lines of them moving to a state that recognizes gay marriage..or Canada (gay marriage is legal in all of Canada for those who dont know) where they get married and life a wonderful life or something..what theyre getting now is pure bullshit |

I think if the show were canceled Ron would probably be given more free rein--I suspect it's more a last ditch effort to prevent cancellation. I guess we'll see if it works (not likely) or blows up in their face. |

That would be awesome.Could you imagine the look on Fron's face. I'd pay good money to see this happen! |

I think what hurts most is that they aren't even getting a send-off! They're just going to be off-screen. SO MY GAY COUPLE CAN'T GET THEIR HAPPY ENDING? Yeah, fuck you too Frons. |

Kettlebells - they do a body good.

I have to say that the comment about Kish not resonating with "mainstream audiences" really pissed me off personally. Because by all demographic accounts, I am the OLTL target audience - straight, female, married with kids, stay-at-home-mom and over 35. I really resent that comment. Kish resonated with me - I hate the way they make it seem like all straight people are a bunch of homophobes. God, with a comment like that you would swear it's the year 1810 instead of 2010! Oh and I am so going to be watching the Daytime Emmy's this year and praying that all the fired people from OLTL go home with the golden trophy. Take that, Frons!
