i dont know why they are letting the reaction to the 'big gay wedding' get to them like this
everybody has bad storylines from time to time. ok, so the wedding storyline sucked. why cant they just move on? instead, they need to write them off? ugh

This is complete BS n they're not even going to get an ending they're just going to disappear. Give them a sunset ending at least. Let them move to WA. This is BULL!

I don't know if I can explain how angry I am right now about Kyle and Oliver being written off OLTL. Here's an email letter I sent to ABC. I will send it out in hardcopy, too, later tonight.
TO THE COWARDS AT ABC:
I grew up watching ABC Daytime series like All My Children, One Life to Live, General Hospital, and Loving. One of the main reasons why I stopped watching these shows was because they never did stories about my life and loves as a gay man. Which was why I was so happy to find out about the Kyle and Oliver story on One Life to Live this past December.
I quickly caught up with the entire Kyle and Oliver story via YouTube clips and started watching One Life to Live again in earnest because of these two characters and how well, how realistically, their story was being told. I was just getting to a point where all of the characters on the show felt familiar and I enjoyed watching their stories unfold, when, after I returned from class this afternoon, I found out that Kyle and Oliver were being written out of One Life to Live and would be gone from the canvas in less than a month because they, supposedly, weren’t resonating with mainstream audiences.
Well, congratulations ABC, when Kyle and Oliver are written off One Life to Live, you lose this viewer. Using the “gays” as a scapegoat for One Life to Live’s declining ratings is nothing but a copout on your part and a despicable example of pandering to homophobic bigots.
I just wanted to say thank you for making me—a gay man—and my life seem inconsequential and not worth your efforts when it comes to daytime television.
Brian Frons, YOU are a coward.
Here’s to the cancellation of One Life to Live.

I give your letter two thumbs up Tony. They are nothing but cowards at this point.

I would find it extremely amusing and satisfying if the only Daytime Emmy nominations OLTL get are for Crystal Hunt, Scott Clifton, Scott Evans, and Brett Claywell. that would be absolutely awesome and a giant slap in the face for ABC daytime - a slap they deserve!

I think that OLTL has been cancelled, but ABCD doesn't want to make it official yet. I smell Brian Frons' fingerprints all over this fiasco.

Very well said, Tony. Thanks for sharing.
Reading your letter is very helpful in terms of the collective grieving process we're going through.
Thanks again.

I sent a message via the ABC website. I told them...straight, married, 40 year old, that you have lost forever because of this move...oh and that I would start watching CBS now. I also mentioned something about keeping a rapist on the show.
I don't know if it will make a difference. But, I sure feel better. So disrespectful to the actors and fans. I guess I get five hours of my life back every week. I will not feel bad when OLTL gets canceled, and I am a longtime fan.

If they're going to write them off, could they at least get a proper send-off? "Oh, they'll still be in Llanview but you just won't see them." I don't care. If I don't see them on-screen, they no longer exist as characters.
Just write them off into the sunset or something. Hell, at this point, I would be satisfied with an ending similar to the half-assed one they gave Jack and Jennifer on Days (out-of-nowhere job offers in London for both of them that required them to leave that minute).
I'm not going to feel better about this whole thing because they are wandering around Llanview off-screen.
I agree. It would just be torture to treat Kyle and Oliver like Larry Wolek and Andrew Carpenter. Just let them leave Llanview, show them leaving town to move to Iowa where they can get married so they can stick it to the heartland. Exactly!!! If you're going to write them out at least have the decency to give Kish and us fans who have suported them a fantastic sunset ending. Hell, even Bloody Hollyoaks managed to do that with McDean. Would it really hurt the TPTB to give Kish what they deserve, a happy ending leaving Lanview to start afresh as a family.
Not this BULSHIT of 'they're still going to live in Lainview but we just won't see them' - FUCK OFF!! I don't give a damn if they are still in Lainview if i cant see them onscreen. Whats the fucking point of that?!! :annoyed: :fight:
