(yeah im a soap virgin) its really unfair, esp of both BC and SE find out the hard way they dont have jobs anymore |

I agree. It would just be torture to treat Kyle and Oliver like Larry Wolek and Andrew Carpenter. Just let them leave Llanview, show them leaving town to move to Iowa where they can get married so they can stick it to the heartland. |

I don't really think it's Ron's fault--there're problematic issues with his writing (there have been from the get-to), but I think it's pretty incontestable that he and his staff produce, at the very least, the most thought-out scripts. Soap viewers, not OLTL have disappointed me--it sucks that daytime fans finally get an intricate, history-rich, socially-conscious/fun soap and people don't tune in. I think Ron C. did about as right as he could've by Kyle & Fish--the recent slump in their story is likely the result of re-planning everything around Crystal Hunt's firing, which I doubt he suggested. And it doesn't help that ABC doesn't promote OLTL and hasn't in the seven years I've been regularly watching. Even though I'm not into these couples, ABC Daytime has promoted Nikolas/Emily, Sonny/Carly, Elizabeth/Jason/Sam, and Zach/Kendall/Ryan/Greenlee to the point where they've become synonymous with GH & AMC . . . OLTL doesn't have any mainstream association and it's all ABC's fault. AHHH, sorry, everything I'm writing is getting so inarticulate because I just can't believe this!!! And I was so stoked for where everything was going . . . |

Oh, but they won't be LEAVING Llanview, they will still live there, we just won't see them... I call Bullshit. I will watch until Kish's last day, and then I am done. I am not rewarding them for being cowards. |

I am just in a loss of words. I just can't believe it. I don't want to believe it. My favorite couple is leaving. Because of Scott and Brett, I watch oltl. I am just upset, mad, and disappointed. I bought tickets to the oltl fanclub luncheon in October. I am wondering if Brett and Scott will be there. |

I don't know if I can explain how angry I am right now about Kyle and Oliver being written off OLTL. Here's an email letter I sent to ABC. I will send it out in hardcopy, too, later tonight. TO THE COWARDS AT ABC: I grew up watching ABC Daytime series like All My Children, One Life to Live, General Hospital, and Loving. One of the main reasons why I stopped watching these shows was because they never did stories about my life and loves as a gay man. Which was why I was so happy to find out about the Kyle and Oliver story on One Life to Live this past December. I quickly caught up with the entire Kyle and Oliver story via YouTube clips and started watching One Life to Live again in earnest because of these two characters and how well, how realistically, their story was being told. I was just getting to a point where all of the characters on the show felt familiar and I enjoyed watching their stories unfold, when, after I returned from class this afternoon, I found out that Kyle and Oliver were being written out of One Life to Live and would be gone from the canvas in less than a month because they, supposedly, weren’t resonating with mainstream audiences. Well, congratulations ABC, when Kyle and Oliver are written off One Life to Live, you lose this viewer. Using the “gays” as a scapegoat for One Life to Live’s declining ratings is nothing but a copout on your part and a despicable example of pandering to homophobic bigots. I just wanted to say thank you for making me—a gay man—and my life seem inconsequential and not worth your efforts when it comes to daytime television. Brian Frons, YOU are a coward. Here’s to the cancellation of One Life to Live. Anthony Patricia Professor of English Las Vegas, Nevada |

i keep wishing that ron and frank would have a press conference and that they would deny that they are ending kish.... but the silence is deafening.... scott ad brett's silence is deafening.... part of me is relieved because i am so getting obsessed with this couple that maybe i could get a life now.... but part of me is saying - WHAT KIND OF LIFE WOULD THAT BE WITHOUT KISH? i know i would get over this - i was sooo obsessed with Olian but when they got backburned i lost interest. but it's really hard to swallow the fact that it is ending after what has happened. i don't understand the reasoning behind it: 1. Kish has been a popular couple. i don't see any other couple in OLTL that has been talked about as much as kish (Scott Evans and Brett Claywell being high up the list at daytime confidential's top 100. and every month brett and scott are THE ONLY CHARACTERS IN OLTL in the top 20.) 2. have they looked at youtube lately? am not sure about this... but KISH have fans all over the world - i don't see any other couple that had the same impact as Kish internationally. 3. even they (the whole cast of OLTL) did not submitt scott and brett's name in the emmy prenoms - they were still nominated - why? because THE WHOLE EMMY COMMUNITY VOTED FOR THEM. TPTB may not have their backs, but surely the daytime soap community does and acknowledges the fact that they gave the best performances among all other OLTL cast. everything points to the fact that Kish is the best decision that they have made in the past year. how could they do this? |

Okay, I've been major lurker on this board since last Fall and I hate, HATE, that this is the reason I am finally delurking. I am so pissed beyond belief at OLTL, ABC and TPTB. I started watching OLTL this summer BECAUSE of Kish. To get people like me (straight female, haven't watched soap operas since the early 1990s) sucked in again and then pull the rug out from under such a wonderful storyline is, in a word, wrong. I feel so bad for Scott and Brett who obviously had put so much of themselves and their talent in this story. I have to see the silver lining in this, as I hope that both land on their feet and get bigger and better things than a frickin' soap opera. Primetime TV is light years better and was a major reason why I stopped watching so many years ago. Well ABC Daytime? I'm done. |

I would find it extremely amusing and satisfying if the only Daytime Emmy nominations OLTL get are for Crystal Hunt, Scott Clifton, Scott Evans, and Brett Claywell. |
