Funny how it wasn't ABC itself that posted this bullshit. |

was just on afterelton.com reading the "best gay week ever" thing and the editor pretty much understands the criticisms, etc...but doesn't think we should bash ABC....but then again, i am curious mr. Frons works for the network of ABC, right? i mean, he has bosses higher up than he. no matter what the show, do you think the verrrryyy top people in power have to be notified of these sort of things? firings, etc before it happens? i dont know how this works exactly...so i wanna make sure i know what i am talking about before i go off...haha ;-) |

What? What is Michael Jensen smoking now that he's saying ABC shouldn't be bashed??? |

I love how this show obviously feels that a batshit crazy cartoon villian like Mitch Laurence who tried to rape/impregnate his own daughter, a rapist like Todd Manning who tried to take his own daughter's child & raise it with the woman he'd raped & convinced she actually loved him, murderers, cheats, whoever the hell Jess is on any given day/whatever age she is (acting like Drew Barrymore's character in Never Been Kissed now for fuck's sake!), a creepy teacher who has sex with his student, etc...I love how this show feels THIS kind of utter crap "resonates" with its precious "mainstream audience," while Kish, the only loving, caring couple who happens to be composed of 2 men, are deemed to not "resonate." It's truly disgusting. :brickwall: I'm seriously convinced this "mainstream" doesn't actually watch this show as a whole. |

I think Michael Jensen is saying that at least ABC tried--which is more than some of the other networks have done. Of course the fact they tried and then backed down due to the story not clicking with these mythical 'mainstream' viewers sort of makes it worse. I mean is it better to know somebody's not your friend from the start or for somebody to be your friend for awhile and then kick you to the curb? Edited by luke75b, Mar 11 2010, 10:03 PM.

I agree. A one day wrap up would be better than nothing. Are we even going to see Kyle or Oliver hold Sierra Rose? I was hesitant to become a fan of this pair because I doubted they would last. I gave it a try after watching their bold love scene. In retrospect doesn't it seem that the tone of the writing for them really did change for Kish after the hos v mos scene? The previous "day" in Llanview started with a Kish kiss. We haven't seen one since. |

The statement: The groundbreaking Kyle/Fish relationship on One Life to Live was embraced by fans both as a great story and a fair and honest reflection of the LGBT community. We're glad their story resonated with the audience, and understand the fans' disappointment now that it has concluded. The show has a history of bringing LGBT stories to the screen -- earning two GLAAD awards in the process -- as well as returning popular characters when they serve the ongoing story. These great characters remain in Llanview, and while there are no immediate plans to advance their story, the door is always open for their return. ***************************** So now the story totally changes since they scape-goated the gays for the bad ratings. Now the key is to get some mainstream press to pick up on this one. Maybe the NY Daily News? |

IMHO, ABC, via Fronsie and his minions, made their own bed when they killed Kyle and Oliver and, now that I think about it, Sierra Rose, too. Maybe if they had been more careful about how they worded the first report to break in the media -- the one that flat out told us Kyle, Oliver, and Sierra Rose were being written out because their gay story didn't resonate with mainstream viewers -- they wouldn't be so deserving of the bashing they are getting now. I don't feel sorry for ABC in the least. It's too late for them to cry foul. They fucked up and now they're gonna pay the price for it. :fight: :fight: :fight: :fight: :fight: :fight: |
