Oh, OK: so KISH resonated with the audience but Frons is still killing the story while bragging about the GLAAD awards KISH garnered for OLTL and the network? GLAAD should rescind (I doubt they will.) The disingenuity of Frons, who is in charge of SoapNet, is beyond appalling. ABC Daytime cannot have its cake and eat it too. No fucking way. |

And I can just picture a panicked Brian Frons forcing some poor secretary or administrative assistant at ABC to create these conciliatory (NOT) lines in a sorry attempt to save his equally sorry ass from us. |

:crossed: :crossed: :crossed: :crossed: What can we do to get them to cave and 'find a story" for KISH. They're KISH for Pete's sake!! HELLO!? Campaign and get them to cave and end this silly shiz. Happy Scott and Brett became friends out of all this :woo: |

So in one breath they say it "failed to resonate with mainstream audiences" and in another they claim it did, in fact, resonate with "audiences"? o_O Okay, someone may have to explain to me the difference between audiences and mainstream audiences, because obviously they're catering to the ones Kish failed to resonate with while totally saying a huge FU to the ones this story DID touch (namely us, and so, so many more). Clearly, someone's not rereading what they already posted in the media before posted additional info. |

Whoa whoa whoa, they won? I thought that was coming this weekend. I think they should win, because at least while Kish has been around, they've been awesome. I just have dreams of Brett and Scott going to accept the award (because did VH and JS accept for ATWT in the past?) and being thoroughly bitchy-polite. |

J: As a Professor of English with a pretty strong background in Rhetorical Studies, I, too, was outraged by the mention of the two (count them, two!) GLAAD Awards the show has won. As if that makes everything just hunky-dory. All such a cynical and hypocritical shoutout is going to do is make the homophobic mainstream audience feel like, well, yes, OLTL/ABC has done enough for the GLBQT community? Why are they so upset about Kyle and Oliver being written out of the show? Ugh. Ugh. Ugh. :vomit: And you're 100% correct: GLAAD should rescind any awards they've given to the show in the past. What a total and complete crock. |

At this point, it's just getting our voices, which apparently don't count, heard by Frons, D. I don't want Brett and especially Scott to work under a corporate regime that essentially dehumanizes LGBTQ's and relegates us to third-class citizen status. That last bolded sentence is such a slap in the face to the actors and to the audience. Frons has already shut the door to any return for Kyle and Oliver as well as the introduction of any future LGBTQ characters. What are the odds of Brett and Scott reprising their roles given what's gone down in the last 36 hours or so. |

That statement is classic PR bullshit. Full of soft language and placation. It's like a non-apology apology. |
