What was the 7/22 episode? The one where Kyle talks to Cristian, after Cristian read Kyle's mail?
Yep! That's the one a lot of us fell in love with Brett. Thank you! Yes, it was a fine and sad and sweet moment. Kyle wanting to share this so much but didn't. I thought clueless Cristian was cute too. I loved it then when later he answers 'yep' to Roxy when she asks him if he's feeling so sad because of that cute cop in the picture! Loved the 'yep'!

For something different, I thought Brett had some really nice scenes with variety in the 11/9 episode (Kish's attempt at a 1st date). Kyle spoke with Roxy as he left for the date. He and Fish were both cute and nervous when they first saw each other. Kyle had the touching and helpful conversation with Layla where he put into perspective how he put his past behind him, which allowed him to be with Fish, and Layla was inspired by his words to tell Cristian how she felt. None of it was dramatic or over the top, but great stuff. ITA! There are so many sweet yet pivotal and intense moments, but they are possibly too 'subtle' for an EMMY reel. There are also many moments, where Kyle doesn't even say anything, but his glance or facial expression is so powerful that it says so much more than words. But these moments are possibly also too subtle to submit for an EMMY reel.
I for instance really like the moment, where Kyle is standing next to Nick, just before the wedding is supposed to take place and you see Kyle getting uncomfortable and he hesitates but then turns to look at Oliver who standing behind them and looking back at Kyle and they both have the saddest expression on their facees, knowing all to well that this is the worst thing for Kyle to do (marrying Nick), for all involved. It's quite heartwrenching to see Kyle turn around and then have Nick tell him about the 'one step at the time' or something of that sort and then that he loves Kyle. Kyle's reaction to that!! I like this little bit of scene! And then the Kyle's love declaration is just chillingly beautiful!

It really is a testament to Brett's and Scott's talent that they can convey so much to us with their eyes and facial expressions. It's too bad that all those glances and looks are probably waaaaay to subtle for an Emmy reel. When Kyle stands next to Nick, you can see hesitation, fear, doubt...all of that in his face. And yes, when Nick said, "I love you," you knew it was over for KICK. Oh, the love declaration!! :waah: :waah:

I'd like to know kinds of scenes other actors are submitting this year or have in the past b/c does the show go for soapy or more subtle? and the actors are the ones who pick what to submit...that's a lot of pressure. I'd be asking everyone and their mother for a second opinion.
LOL. I guess that's why Brett is asking us! I was actually wondering the same thing. It could be that the voters love the over the top stuff. I've watched the daytime emmys, but I must admit that I only paid attention when they announced my fav nominees only. Though, I can't remember what types of scenes they chose. :dunno: I know...I can't really remember from past years either. I know it's soap awards, but I personally don't really dig OTT acting. Like I love Alley Kiss and BGW speech for their own reasons, but they kind of make me cringe a bit, too, lol.

I don't cringe, but what is more powerful with the alley kiss at least (even if OTT, but I don't really think that) is that the scene is much more 'intimate' meaning, no onlookers. I love the love-declaration scene so much! Brett and Scott's faces! You can see they are both overwhelmed with emotions, but I sometimes wish they didn't have television and 219 people standing there watching them. It's very distracting, lol!

Yay, for the BGW? haha it is kind of awkward being so "Public Display Of Affection" in front of soo many people. Alley Kiss was pretty intimate, before Cristian showed up and was a total Kiss-Block, LOL.

I would, if I knew how.. lol! No seriously, that's why I love both actors so much because of the amount of emotion they can convey with little looks, glances, body language, their chemistry. So compelling!

Coming out on national tv and then gay PDA on top of that! I don't cringe at those scenes either. I feel like a sap because they get me all teary-eyed. :waah: ...I'll only cry for Kish! :sigh:

By someone, do you mean me? lol I actually was interested in making a video with all the 'silent' moments. I'll have to think about the song. I thought of a couple, but any suggestions are welcome. :)

Hmmm... all good suggestions.
But for an out of left field suggestion, I told Brett to pick 5/12 the Natalie bachelorette stripping scene. Since no one else brought it up. For, uh, funsies ;)

I never realized it until you to mentioned 7/22, but I fully concur! I didn't realize I had totally fallen in love with the Brettzel Kyle until the hallway scene with Oliver's letter. BC was sooo good at conveying the enormity of Kyle as-yet unrevealed turmoil for Oliver. And it was so natural, so nicely nuanced and underplayed for a soap. That was a beautiful, beautiful moment.
A lot of viewers on TWoP thought so too. I was watching the first half of the Kish SL and reading through TWoP's comments about it, and practically found myself agreeing with everything they were saying. It was INSANE!!
