Ya, Y&R is littered with recasts. Recently, their most successful ones seem to be Billy Miller (Billy) and Michael Muhney (Adam). A lot of people are down on them, but I don't even mind Clementine Ford (Mac) and I actually love Amelia Heinle (Victoria). On OLTL, Trevor St. John by far and wide gets my vote as the better Todd. I loved Heather Tom as Kelly, but I barely saw Gina T. I guess. Um, Christina Chambers even worked for me as Marty, but I think Susan Haskell might be the best actress in soaps. Idk, it just all depends . . . more than just pivotal characters, I think any character is ripe for recasting when an actor opts to not renew their contract--I just get so attached to all the characters and think every contract player usually possesses a lot of merit or, at least, potential. However, sometimes, you've got to let people go (the Montez's)--but that's not an-actor-decides-to-leave situation. Even if they don't catch on, if anything else, it's at least interesting to see how a new actor, even a bad one, tackles a character previously played by someone else. Like I said, it's been ages since I've fallen in love with an actor/character like Scott/Oliver, but I am so invested in Oliver and am so diggin' his place on the canvas that I'd really prefer a recast to losing the character and losing all the social strides he's made for OLTL and all the cool dynamics Ron's created between him and the other characters. |

Hmmmmm....that's a hard one to call. I would find it very hard, unless they found actors who could do the parts justice....but to me Scott and Brett are the only Oliver and Kyle :sigh: :sigh: :sigh: :hearts: :hearts: :hearts: |

No to a recast. I'll stop watching if they do that. If they kill off Fish or Kyle and brought on another gay man to help the character move on, I'm fine with that. Then the remaining character and I can mourn and slowly fall for the new guy together. I'm not on here very much..is someone leaving or is that just a rumor?? Totally agree! To me, Scott is Oliver... and Brett is Kyle. If Brett leaves, I also do not want to see a recast... |

I totally agree!!! For me Scott IS Oliver and Brett IS Kyle. If they left i wouldn't want to watch someone esle in those roles. In facrt if they left i'm not sure if i would carry on watching OLTL cause while i love Layla, Crisitan, Roxy, Brody, and because of yesterday's performance by SC now Sky. But are they enough to keep watching the show probably not. When my faves leave (and there have been many)the soap i watch in the UK i still watch the show cause i'm invested in the other characters cause i've been a vierwer since i was about 12. But i only started watching OLTL last November, and because of KIsh. |
