I haven't had a chance to read the play, but the version I saw here earlier tonight had only four characters. So I don't think we could get any of our other OLTL favorites into it. BTW: The Wikipedia article on the play notes that it should have opened in London at the Garrick Theatre in the West End on 1/20/10 and is supposed to run through 4/10/10. Oh, how I wish I were in London again!!!!! |

I saw both THE LITTLE DOG LAUGHED and TAKE ME OUT on Broadway. There may be some roles for our OLTL actors in the former, but definitely none for the latter. Amanda Setton would be way too young to play Tony Winner Julie White's role. I can see both Scott and Brett play both the Johnny Galecki and Tom Everett Scott roles. I think Brett and Scott will do well in either role. For TAKE ME OUT, it may not be stated on the script, but the leading man has to be of mixed raced - because the role was evidently based on a Derek Jeter type who decded to come out of the closet at the top of his game. Scott and Brett would just play the other players. But they do all get naked and shower onstage. NAKED BOYS SINGING is a big letdown. The novelty of seeing extremely manscaped guys singing in the buff wears thin rapidly, and the songs are not memorable at all. My fantasy is for Scott to do a musical whose book was also written by Douglas Carter Beane: XANADU. If you've only seen the movie, don't even think about that piece of rubbish: the book for the musical is so sharp and so smart...I think Scott could make for a good leading male there - Sonny Malone - the role Cheyenne Jackson originated in New York. The only test is whether Scott can handle the songs of the Electric Light Orchestra, which is deceptively simple but the vocal range requirements are quite heavy. TRIVIA: in New York, the muse that Sonny fell in love with in XANADU (Olivia Newton-John in the movie) was played by Kerry Butler, who played Claudia Reston, Nash's ex-fiancee. Butler also sang in character as Claudia when she was in Llanview. |

come to think of it glamgurl, i think this play does need a sequel... it is quite open ended... although the play was nominated for a tony award, the show never really took off and closed after a little over a month. i think because the ending really sucked. am thinking of other plays that scott and brett can do... i was thinking a gay version of "children of a lesser god"... where scott plays the hearing impaired male version of sarah and brett plays the professor that she (or he in this case) had an affair with... "bent" is also a good play... about the persecution of gays in nazi germany.... i wasn't able to watch the play but i watched the movie and it was very powerful - specially the scene where they made love WITHOUT ANY PHYSICAL CONTACT. only the great acting prowess of brett and scott can pull that off. you need to have such a strong chemistry to portray two people very much in love with one another but cannot touch each other (sometimes cannot even look at each other) in concentration camps. oh god! just seeing brett and scott play both the leads in my mind gives me goosebumps! |

That one scene in BENT pretty much sums up the sex life of Luke and Noah on AS THE WORLD TURNS... :LMAO: |
