All this talk is depressing me. :waah: :waah: So hard to imagine life with no new Kish scenes to look forward too...even if they are few and far between. :waah: However, I guess I agree with an open-ended or inconclusive "death" or riding off into the sunset since either scenario allows for Kish to come back, if everyone wanted to. SR would probably be 14 or something! :LMAO: |

Ok, one of them can disappear or presumably die off screen. I just don't want a death scene. I had to endure watching Kieron die on Hollyoaks and it was too painful. But actually, rather than a death I would prefer that Kyle or Oliver realize that they don't have the same wishes for their future. They realize that it is good that they reconciled because their college breakup left both of them living in the past and unable to move on with other relationships. But they realize that their romantic relationship won't work and part as friends. |

If by chemistry you mean Nick acted awkward with Brett all the time, and vice versa, then yeah, there was chemistry... but it wasn't good chemistry. Real chemistry is Scott and Brett. Mediocre chemistry is Nick and Brett. Do you see the difference? |

See i would hate that scenario cause i would feel like the last 6 months (or however long it is now) were a complete waste of time for everyone, including myself as a fan. I wouldn't mind Kyle falling for someone else, starting a new relationship etc but Oliver would have to be dead for me to accept it. I'm sorry, but after the Show making such a big deal about Oliver being Kyle's soulmate, one true love, it would look stupid if they broke up, and then af ew weeks later Kyle finds someone else. That would, imo, make a mockery of the whole Kish s/l. A re-cast in this situation just wouldn't work imo. I don't think i could watch tbh. So the only solution for me is to kill off Oliver, or have a happy ending and alow them both to leave the show. |

I agree, i saw absolutely no chemistry between Nick and Brett at all. In fact i saw more chemistry between Kyle and Stacy (when Brett first joined the show)then i did Brett with Nick. But maybe thats just me :dunno: |

*shrug* I'd be sad if they broke up but at the same time I think it's pretty common for soap soulmates to break up and then reunite down the road. Sometimes they make it all but impossible but still manage to pull it off (really Bo and Nora pretty much hated one another for awhile and their reunion on some levels was a bit forced). From what I've seen of British soaps, couples often cheat on each other but don't break up but on US soaps they cheat and more often than not end up breaking up. And I think if a Kish breakup were completely off the table they'll be backburnered and stuck in Moe and Noelle territory. But either way I'm not terribly worried--if Scott has a big enough role in the pilot that would require him to leave OLTL AND the pilot gets picked up then I'll maybe get slightly worried. Well, using Luke and Laura on GH as an example, most viewers find them as soulmates, however for a while now Luke has been in a relationship with Tracy, which many enjoy. That's cause the show never tried to force the viewers that Luke & Tracy are new soulmates and that L&L weren't. He loves her but in a different way than he did Laura. It's always been written as, "If Luke can't be with Laura, then Tracy is a good alternative." The show could do the same with Kyle, any new guy doesn't have to be "better" than Oliver nor rewrite that,Kyle & Oliver weren't soulmates. They could write it as "When Oliver isn't an option, guy X is a great alternative." Edited by dkp, Mar 7 2010, 07:35 PM.

Oh i absolutely agree that even soulmates on soaps can break up, and couples in the UK do break up, get back together, break -up etc - you get the idea :LMAO: I cerainly wouldn't be adverse to a break up for Kish in the future if both BC/SE were still on the show, and can still get back together down the line. I jus wouldn't like them to break up if one of them decides to leve. Recently in EastEnders (uk soap) one part of a popular couple, seen as soulmates (who have broken up and got back together serveral times throughout the last 4 years)has just left the soap. The decision was made to kill off the character and i think that was for the best. But again, thats probaly just my take on it, same with Kish. Edited by KIsh4ever, Mar 7 2010, 07:45 PM.

Since this subject has gotten way off topic since Scott isn't leaving, we'll move the discussion of recasting or no to a different thread. You can find it here: http://s1.zetaboards.com/Kishmet/topic/3021960/1/ This thread is closed. |
