For the sake of pure speculation, the show could always bring back Amelia or explore a storyline with a lesbian character. Not that one gay character/pairing should be exchanged with another. But lesbians deserve some stories too on daytime. OLTL could try to tell a better story than the one that was told on AMC with Bianca and Reese. |

I suspect that OLTL already asked Scott to sign a contract and he turned them down without bolting like AS did, which is a smart thing to do. Contracts nowadays are meaningless in terms of job security and are more burdensome given the enforcement of the minimum guaranteed episodes. Whoever is managing SE's career was smart not to get him tied down to the show. If OLTL never offered SE a contract, then color me shocked because I find that incredible given how much bigger a player Oliver Fish is in Llanview than characters like Kimberly Andrews or Robert Ford. |

From what I gather, Scott was offered a contract last summer when the Kyle/Oliver storyline hit it big, but declined, preferring to remain recurring.

Let us frankly discuss the mad hot sex we're about to have.

Even though none of this matters until we know, well, anything, that won't stop me from jabbering on about it! I would throw my support behind either a recast or revisiting Kyle/Nick with some hot Dr. Ganjemi thrown in... And Schuyler... And, well, I'll ship Kyle/Anyone. (Sorry, Oliver! ) Losing both Kyle and Oliver is probably the most realistic route, though. Not that I wanna think about that... |

Not that I want to criticize Amanda Setton's desires to move to the West Coast to do pilots, I find it smart that SE was still able to audition for a pilot while not leaving or relocating. AS probably wanted to audition for several shows, but it's also smart not to just walk away from a job for auditions. JMO. |

I think the story is the most important thing. Not just throwing some hot bodies together. There needs to be more character development and I just didn't see that with Nick Chavez or even Ford for that matter. If they decide to write off Oliver, I will be disappointed. Kish had such potential and have a lot more story to tell. |

When you put it that way... Kyle and Oliver who? ;) In all seriousness, I think Kyle/Nick could definitely work in a longer-term story if given the opportunity. Edited by rhombus, Mar 5 2010, 12:10 PM.

While I wouldn't necessarily hate a recast, I'd prefer that than Kyle and Nick unfortunately. I never got into them, and the show has sold Kish so hard, with Brett speculating about Kish raising a kid, that I might just break from the show again if they tried to sell Kyle with someone else. Kish was the only reason I started watching OLTL in the first place again after the late nineties, so if they go, I might just do the same once again. Eh...I wish I wasn't such a hardcore shipper, but we all like what we like. If this were the mid-nineties, I'd stay to watch the Todd and Blair drama and Vicki's personalities, and all the other things I loved about the show a decade ago. While I stopped watching after RH came and went, I enjoyed the entire show at one point. But without Kish, which we have no idea what will happen with them, there's little else I truly enjoy about the show or would watch on its own. JMO. Edited by converse1973, Mar 5 2010, 12:18 PM.

Testing for a pilot? That show may or may not get picked up, he might not get the role...I guess if he leaves, he leaves. Not much I can do but wish him luck. Id recast Oliver or give kyle a new boyfriend. Unless, Brett really really wants to leave to, I don't see why the whole story should end, especially it will be the only "gay Romance" on daytime soon and I'd hate after all the progress made, have none on any soaps. |
