WOW, good luck Scott. A prime time gig would be awesome. I would check out the show if he is in it. |

God, I love to see Brett in something prime time, too. I thought it was interesting that he said in the latest interview that he was involved in other projects, that he was busy the before and will be busy with other projects after his role on OLTL. But this is all speculation anyway, so... Edited by converse1973, Mar 5 2010, 11:37 AM.

I would accept a recast so long as the OLTL does a good job in finding a nuOliver... Some of my fave characters are played by recast actors, so it's all good to me as long as the OLTL casting department does its due diligence. At this point, to me, the story is paramount to whomever is playing the role... But, as others have said, this is all academic. SE sure likes to be a tease, that much we know! |

Who knows how this is going to go. But he's an actor and you go where the work is. Plus, primetime television is a whole 'nother level. In terms of recast or not recast: The show has put significant investment in the Kyle/Oliver characters. Unless the show is going to create another love interest for Kyle (b/c no love interest = no storyline; no storyline = backburner), then a recast is kind of necessary, unless they are planning to write them both out. But recasting is tricky and it is more than acting chops. Either an actor clicks with a character or you don't. No acting school teaches that. But all this conjecture is premature at this point. If it works out for Scott, more power to him. If not, then on he and we go. |

With both recasts and film remakes, I don't have a problem with them if they bring something fresh or new to the original. Somebody trying to mimic Scott's portrayal of Oliver would be a disaster but if they created their own chemistry with Brett and maybe brought a new angle to the character, it might work. But we really are getting ahead of ourselves--we have no clue the scope of the role let alone whether the show will actually make it to CBS' schedule! :LMAO: |

Like I siad before, wherever he goes I will I wouldn't want them to recast, Scott is Oliver, Oliver is Scott, if he does leave write him out as leaving town, because that always gives him the opportunity to come back and let Brett do his thing on the show and Edited by ForeverBossy26, Mar 5 2010, 11:44 AM.

Kish Fic Laureate

I think he can tease us all he wants on Twitter. He doesn't HAVE to straight up tell us what he's doing |

Agreed. Scott and Fish are so interchangeable to me at this point that it'd be hard to accept a recast. So putting the possibility of a recast aside, I don't see Show breaking up Kyle and Fish so I'd spec they'd either a) have Fish get injured in the line or duty and die or lapse into an Evangeline-style coma or b) have Kish ride off into the sunset together. There are pluses and minuses to both scenarios, for sure. But really, it's too early and there are too many variable to get too worked up about this yet. And considering the cancellation rumors that continue to plague Show proper... |

This is interesting but it is still all speculation. I wonder if OLTL would make a push to sign Scott like they did with AS. I think Scott's role is a hell of lot more important than Amanda's. I just can't imagine that Brett would have the same or better chemistry with a recast than he has with Scott. I kind of hope that they don't write Kish off because that would mean another gay couple on a soap bites the dust, which seems to be happening a lot lately. |
