There's also that just because it goes to pilot doesn't mean it's going to series. Or if he even got the part. But if he's got a shot, I say take it.

Yeah, just because he tested doesn't mean he'll get it. Does a series being greenlighted (sp?) mean it will be on tv for sure, or that the network will take a look at it and decide later? Although I do wish the best for him, but it is competitive out there. Also we don't know if this is a big role or a recurring one. The actor who plays David, who's name I'm forgetting, does Desperate Housewives and still has a recurring role on OLTL. So who knows what any of these means right now.

I'm guessing he can't for the simple reason that just because CBS ordered it as a pilot doesn't mean it will be on either their Fall schedule or as a midseason replacement. He's not likely to say "I'm leaving" if he may not (if the show's not picked up, I'm guessing he's not going anywhere). |

Let us frankly discuss the mad hot sex we're about to have.

Yep. He should definitely take his opportunities when they come. It's not like he'll be blacklisted from OLTL if it doesn't work out. Unless a recast is just soooooo popular. |

Only the pilot was greenlighted. That means they'll make one episode, decide if they like it and then it will go to series. |

Usually a pilot is accepted and when it is, they film the pilot. Once the pilot is shot, it's then viewed by decision makers and then decided upon to go further. From there, if for the start of the fall season, shooting starts to happen for the series. Then based on ratings, the show gets to "stay alive" or is "killed off". The thing about CBS is that they give a "bit more time" on their shows that ABC does. The show imo has a chance because CBS is HUGE on police/investigative style dramas and basically, it's most of what they feature. I wish Scott luck and would miss him as Oliver if he left. Not big on recasts but I would give a recast a try because imo, unless they are killing off Oliver which could happen since he's a cop, I don't see them instantly dropping Kyle and Oliver do to actor changes if the story is really an priority for the writers/Ron. |

If Scott leaves, I suspect they'd write Oliver and Kyle out, which is good for Brett because he'd be free to do other things. Though, I'd have no problem if they recast. Lots of talented young actors out there who could fill the role. |

I honestly don't want them to kill kish off or write kyle out if Scott leaves .. its unfair to Brett!! but I wish Scott all the luck if he's leaving, although I wish he doesn't :( |

recasts to me are like movies that are recast. originals should never be messed with, but eh. i know they do it alllll the time on soaps, but it's so tacky to me. would probably save time and energy to just kill a character off or have them leave town. For me, Oliver is tied so completely to Scott's portrayal that it would be very hard for me to picture any other actor having the degree of chemistry he has with Brett and who could make Oliver charming without being annoying. I mean, someone could prove me wrong, but it would be quite the chore for me. All this talk is premature, though. I'd say hope for the best for both Brett and Scott's careers, and enjoy Kish while they're on our screens. |
