I think so though there may have been outliers before where there were 6 nominees in an acting category... |

I haven't got a clue about other soaps in the US, i've heard about them on this board, and my knowledge of Days extends to Joey acting on it in Friends :LMAO: But i completely agree with you about Crystal Hunt. I thought she actually was really good as Stacy. She was let down by bad writing, and an ill-conceived role which was never fleshed out properly. Crystal did well with the material she was given, and i'd rather she won than Farah to be honest. Edited by KIsh4ever, Feb 26 2010, 03:26 PM.

I agree. This isn't CH's first time at the rodeo either. She was nominated for an Emmy before during her run on GUIDING LIGHT as Beth and Philip's daughter, Lizzie. (I think.) And as someone who's watched FF since she started out at DAYS, CH is by far a better actress than FF. The writing for Stacy always sucked except for her end days. I'm not sure even Erika Slezak or Robin Strasser could have salvaged the role if they were given the writing that was doled out to CH for Stacy... |

Okay thanks. Looking at the competition I think Scott Evans has a real shot in the younger actor category. For Brett, he'll have some in-show competition with Brian Kerwin, then I think the two Y&R actors, Billy & Greg are probably the biggest competition for Brett, I'd estimate. I don't watch all the soaps, so hard to guess. |

Unfortunately for Bret, Ricky Paul Goldin (Jake, AMC), Jacob Young (JR, AMC), Trent Dawson (Henry, ATWT), Jonathan Jackson (Lucky, GH), Jeff Branson (Shayne, GL), Billy Miller (Billy, Y&R), and Greg Rikaart (Kevin, Y&R) will be stiff competition in addition to Brian Kerwin. However, maybe I'm naive, but I think he has a real shot . . . IMO, he's seriously one of the best new soap actors and most agree he's pretty freakin' amazing, natural, and nuanced. |

Let us frankly discuss the mad hot sex we're about to have.

Just for the fact that BC's a daytime newbie, I'm not placing money on him making it out of the pre-nom stage. I'll add the DAYS actors to DK's list of stiff competition, simply because they've been around for a long, long time. Would please me greatly if he did make it through, though. |

What is the cutoff date for the Emmy reels? Because I didn't realize JJ was eligible... I can understand, though, if it was an industry peer-wide nomming process, why he'd be on the list. I hope Brett can squeak in. I think if might have a shot if submitted any one of the scenes that I thought were his strongest material last year -- the 08/06-08/07 kiss, 10/27 scenes with Oliver, or 11/02's confession of love at the BGW. But ditto to the nuance he brings to his scenes. I love watching Brett in his quieter moments. His reactions to things in the background are just lovely to watch. |
