Terri Colombino and Austin Peck have the material from ATWT, but Van Hansis's story was absolute sheeyat last year and continues to be. BTW, what time frame does the nomination period cover? Because Jonathan Jackson didn't do crap until last month (y'know when he gave the performance of 2010, overrated in my opinion, when we're not even out of 1Q of the year), and he's on the list. Hell, Nathan Parsons is another head scratcher. Did Tony Geary buy him votes or something? |

Well I'm thrilled with the OLTL pre-noms minus the younger actress category. I'm so proud of both Brett and Scott (and the other Scott). They deserve those noms. But I'm a little confused about that "younger" actor category. Some of the actors nominated seem really obviously younger and then others not so much. Oh well. It got SE a pre-nom so I'll take it whatever it is. |

So are they doing the thing they did last year where the top 5 (or 6) vote getters are the nominees and the winner is already chosen (so no second round)? Also I see no Van Hansis--though given his material he didn't deserve a prenom. ETA: You have to be under 26 in terms of the material you submit--so Scott presumably did the coming out stuff which fell before his 26th birthday. Anything this year would require him to be Supporting Actor. Edited by luke75b, Feb 26 2010, 11:42 AM.

Probably. :p I think anything from all of '09 is game. I remember Genie Francis wasn't only nominated, but won for a three-week guest stint. Not that GF isn't worthy, but I think stuff like that is a shame. I never agree with case-specific stuff, these awards should be given based on a body of work for the year, IMO . . . esp. considering how holistic everything is in daytime. |

   :woo: :woo: :woo: :woo: I know these are only pre-noms but i'm so happy for both Brett and Scott. They both totally deserve to be nominated. IMO Brett is the best actor on OLTL, or any soap i've ever watched and it will be a travesty if he doesn't get a nod, he brings his A Game to every scene he's in. I think Brett must have submitted the Alleyway kiss eppy cause he was simply sensational in it!! I'm really happy for Scott ause he made Oliver's jouney so incredily emotional to watch, he must have submitted his comming out episode cause he was fantastic in them. So much pain and conflict, and Scott made you feel like you were on the journey with him, outstanding. I'm also really happy for Irene. She does such a good job as Roxy, i've got no idea which episodes she would've submitted cause i think she's excellent in every single scene. Probably an emotional scene like the one when Kyle told Roxy that the baby was'nt Rex's. I'm probably in the minority but i'm pleased that Crystal got the nom cause i actually think she was a good actress who was let down by the writing not by anything she did. Stacy had some brilliant scenes though as a bitch so i think she's got a good chance. I'm really disappointed for Tika, I think she's amazing as Layla. She has such fantastic motinal range, and when Layla found out about Oliver's betrayal Tika was simply superb. That image of her sinking to her knees in the apartment was so haunting. And WTH, I can't believe Farah Faith has been nominated :dunno: I'm really sorry to those who like her, but i just don't think she can act at all!! I don't get her popularity, she does nothing for me as an actress in any way, shape or form. Edited by KIsh4ever, Feb 26 2010, 11:52 AM.

Well, that's always been a flaw with the system - two episodes are judged for one year's worth of work? That's why Y&R and GH do those actor specific shows to boost their actors' chances of winning by giving them showboating opportunities - Christian LeBlanc and Billy Miller got special NYE or X-mas episodes, and that GH mess where Tony Geary played 7 versions of Luke while he was on trial and also sang MY WAY? Blecch. Ideally, the nominations should be based not on snapshots of a soap but on a general perception of the show for an entire year or however long the nomination period is, but that's, sadly, never been the case. |

Well even though this is just the pre-noms. I am pretty sure both of them most definitely will make the real nominations. Brett for the alley kiss and Scott for the coming out speech. If they both don't get nominated this fan will be so angry and pissed. :waah: :annoyed and :frustrated: |

Congrats to both of the Scotts and Brett. Nice recognition to have. I think that the Supporting categories are the toughest because it encompasses most of the actors. And there's so many who do good work with a limited SL. SE and BC may have a bit of an advantage because of the high visibility of their SL. Brian Kerwin did some really outstanding work. So I'm glad to see him get recognized. But the Younger Actress category for OLTL is a head scratcher. Edited by ltklo, Feb 26 2010, 12:05 PM.

Roger Newcomb said:
If this is true, then it's an even bigger win for Scott and Brett because actors from other soaps knew who the hell they are! :confetti: A certain other fanbase is livid that their boys didn't score prenoms. Not much of a guessing game there... |
