No. Each show submits 2, sometimes three, actors from each category to the Emmy board. Each actor submits his tapes, which is I think 2 episodes. The board watches the tapes from all the prenoms from all the shows and from there they pick the 5 people who will be in each category. Basically, these are the actors the show submitted and want to pimp. |

Thanks for the full list, Anthony. A little sad for Van, though not unexpected. But how in the world is Farah Fath included but not Amanda Setton or Tika?! Edited by byb0, Feb 26 2010, 10:57 AM.

Right on. They deserve it, esp. Brett--he's so fluid and nuanced. (Even though Scott's my fav., lol.) I have trouble swallowing Mark Lawson (even though I love him/Brody) and Farah Fath's pre-nominations, though. (Probably better FF than KA, though; would've preferred BU, even though Langston does nothing for me.) And even though '08 was much more their year, TSJ and Susan put out some outstanding work earlier in the year . . . Brandon Buddy actually really rocked it out dumb early in the year, too--disappointed and confused that they didn't make the pre-cut. Am most SHOCKED that everyone didn't jerk off Florencia by pre-nominating her--don't get me wrong, FL is pretty much amazing in every way . . . but people rave and rave and rave some more about this chick and I was surprised that everyone on-set didn't mention her enough times to garner a pre-nom. |

Let us frankly discuss the mad hot sex we're about to have.

It makes me giggle to see CH and FF in the younger actress category together. And yay for IK, as well. The supporting actress slot is another one where I thought OLTL could squeeze a third one in there (either MA or TS)... I wonder why they were allowed three for supporting actor. If ML submitted the stuff in the hospital after his de-impalement surgery, I can see that as deserving a pre-nom. As for SE -- definitely some of the coming out stuff. I liked the quieter moments with TS and DF when he was monologuing a lot. BC -- I think 10/27 was his best work last year... |

CH and FF being nominated sounds like a Frons directive to me. Then again, there's really no one else in that category to nominate, except for BU..... and she didn't have the material. One thing.... I'm soooooo glad JPL wasn't nominated. I'm shocked that Eddie Alderson or Brandon Buddy were not pre-nomed. The Scott boys squeezed them out. That was my thing about SE. I thought for sure EA or BB would get it before he did. I hate that Tika didn't get a nod. I think she should be there before Ilene. And Bree is a lead actress, IMO. Yes! Totally forgot about Tika--would've liked to have seen her on the list very much. Supporting actor included three nominees because the way the voting works out (I think you A. have to submit your name to the pool as an actor and B. then have enough people in your cast or network or something vote for you . . . and there must've been a tie someplace to allow for three actors). I think Brett has a better chance of making it to the final ballot because, unfortunately, your body of work isn't judged . . . the panel looks for incredibly specific things in your two reels and only, only, only goes by the reels . . . and Brett, IMO, brings it 110% to every scene, whereas I think it's fairer and more complimentary to look at Scott's evolution as an actor compare the way he portrays Oliver in different situations. |

IK is an Emmy fave.--the politics involved here are stifling. I do think she had her best content in years during '09, though. And Bree, based on episode counts may have been less of a 'lead' actress than some, but the character/actress is/are such a prominent, integral, and associated aspect of the show that IA she should be 'lead' . . . but politically, supporting actress has always been the most controversial field because you get ladies submitting their name for this category because it's less than competitive than lead, even if they are leads (i.e. Alicia Minshew . . . thank God she finally submitted her name in the appropriate category). But, unfortunately, there isn't a chance in hell that a lead actress or actor win is even available to a lot of people (it's all politics) . . . that's why it's really brave for actresses to like Teri C. to keep on submitting her name to this category because you know the win goes to Jess Waltons or Erikas or Maura Wests or Nancy Lees, etc. |

Well, at least we know that SE and BC are liked by their OLTL castmates... That's already a win of sorts. TSJ didn't even throw his hat in the ring this year, right? A little surprised that La Strasser is not on the list. Ditto on Tika Sumpter. How that Bryton James creature from Y&R makes it to the Emmy list every year is a freakin' mystery to me. He ain't all that. He ain't even SOME of that... Edited by jsg03jd, Feb 26 2010, 11:27 AM.

Oh I know all the politics involved. And I was shocked to see TC and AM in the lead list because they've always gone supporting. But they are both leads, especially last year. The thing about Bryton is that he's rarely on and never has a storyline. I don't get it. TSJ did not submit himself. I think it's out of protest because the show didn't nominate him when he thought he should have been. Or he didn't win last year and he thought he should have. Or something like that. |

I am so happy that Scott and Brett got nominated.   I am really hoping they both win this year. BC and SE rocked their scenes last year. :woo: I know SE is a definite win because SC really did not do anything brilliant last year. :woo: But BC and ML both did amazing last year but I am :crossed: that Brett wins because he deserves it so much then ML. Congrats BC and SE keep up the outstanding work. :woo: :woo: :woo: |
