I think that's amazing that some of the other soap stars voted for Scott & Brett, I'm glad that they were recognized. |

The Whore of Babylon

The way that Nelson B. stated it in his Soapgeist, TSJ has "consistently failed" to get the support of the cast come pre-nom time. But I thought that TSJ didn't want to be put in the running in the first place because he disagreed with the process or... or something about the whole Emmy shebang. Didn't know if someone else had some insight about this. |

I think TSJ submitted his name every year through 2006 and then again 2008. So that is likely the "consistent fail" that NB is associating with TSJ. Which is different from the consistent failure to be awake on-screen that I normally associate with TSJ. |

I didn't realize TSJ had been submitting his name for a couple of years. So, was this cast-compiled pre-nom list a first for this year? It sounded like it... Well, I'm happy that the duelling cast/pre-nom lists did end up with BC and SE's names on it. So, it's a huge pro-con thing for me; some people are going to get cut, and some are going to get recognized. That's the nature of these award shows. I'm just sad that Melissa A. (Natalie) and Tika didn't make either cut. But it is what it is. |

This is kinda eyebrow raising, to be honest. But I'm glad with the end results. There's always politics involved in anything voting-related, and I'm sure the press, if not TV adverts, that KISH got along with BC's rep and SE's (I'm sure being related to Chris does not hurt), helped them bag the prenoms. Still, when you get down to it, their work spoke for itself. Nellie is so disingenuous: he's already made his predictions even w/o watching any reels. He Tweeted his damn list on Friday. And NB IS the Suds Report. That crazy queen...I swear... Edited by jsg03jd, Mar 1 2010, 12:56 PM.

This year the difference is that instead of just voting members of your own cast onto the pre-nom list (which is how it was in the past), actors were pre-nominating people from other shows, which surely helped IK, CH, and SC. Edited by bittersweetlily, Mar 1 2010, 01:02 PM.

I'm also quite shocked that the OLTL cast members didn't vote for either Scott or Brett. I find it quite odd actually, they've both had great dramatic, as well as comedic material. Plus, imo, a lot of people, especially those not in the US, started watching OLTL because of Ksh. I would never have known about the soap in a million years if it wasn't for Kyle and Oliver/Brett and Scott. But i do think that Brett has got some name recognition in the industry. I don't think you can be in a high profile show like OTH, even if you're a supporting character, (although i loved Tim and i know he had a BIG fanbase) and not be known or have friends in the industry. I'm actually quite glad that Brett and Scott have got their pre-noms through their talent and not just cause they're popular on their own soap. |

Cosmic socks!

But does it really mean NONE of the OLTL cast voted for Scott and/or Brett, or just that some did vote, but it wasn't enough to get them on the first list? Hmm.. I'm still not sure how this whole voting thing works.. |

Apparently, yeah. It's not all about talent, sadly... |
