Although i don't watch any other US soaps so i can't comment on what the other actors have produced last year, but i'm getting the impression on here that Scott has a good chance but Brett doesn't. I'm just curious if you guys think that Brett could've done more to push for a nom or a win. From where i'm siting, Brett has been fantastic as KYle, has done some really emotional stuff on the show which awards shows love, and imo the best actor on OLTL so i'm just wondering why some of you are convinced Brett won't make the final ballot? Maybe Brett would be more appreciated acting wise if he were on a primetime show? |

From what I gather having followed ATWT's Luke story over the past 2.5 years, Brett's style of acting which is more subtle and nuanced is not what Emmy voters normally look for. While I will hope for the best for Brett, I think I won't be terribly disappointed if he didn't win, but I sure hope he will at least get the nomination. As for Scott, he's in the Younger Actor category which is understood to be a less competitive category than the Supporting Actor which Brett is in, so he will have a better chance. Besides, it was basically Oliver's story so Scott is understandably getting more attention. |

In my opinion SP was OK, but XY&Z much better, IMO. BTW, KLO is QT sometimes and PFF pre-nominated WTF and OOC most of the time or even KFC! TS deserved a nom but MNLOP’s ABC’s DO-RE-MI… SORRY, but I read all of the 10 pages and tried to keep track, but with all the double/triple letter jumble, I got dizzy. I don’t know most of those letters.. Anyway, joke aside: I hope Brett squeezes through to being nominated. I for one think he really has or ought to have chance to get nominated and hopefully winning. Both in their categories have some strong competition, though. I think too that SE should submit his coming out scenes. Definitely the one with TS or the wedding protesting thing or maybe the alley kiss one but that’s a reel Brett would submit and they can’t/won’t submit the same episode. For Brett definitely the October 27 episode or the wedding ‘love declaration’ episode. I like his quieter moments, too. So many to choose from. Yes, a more holistic approach would certainly be more logical. I really don’t care about awards and stuff much, but I must admit I’ll be bummed if Scott and Brett didn’t make it to the final nominations and winning would be just awesome! I hope we’ll have a chance to follow it live, for those outside the US. |

You are probably right with what you say. I don't like it though. I mean, true it was Oliver's story but it was his story because of Kyle. What I mean to say is that I hope that Brett gets to successfully go against his competition (of his category). |

I strongly agree with this. I adore Tika but her scenes of Oliver's admission of sleeping with Kyle in college was riveting and emotionally moving and it was mostly due to Tika for. Though I'm not putting down Scott's performance but Tika had me about to break over Layla's pain of all the realizations the character when through in that reveal. I agree that Bree is a lead actress as well and not supporting. She's very good and talented and imo, sometimes what she has going on is more interesting that what some of the "leads" have going on. I think is a "time" thing based on how long you've been around really imo. I'm not a big MA fan. I like her best in scenes with Jared actually but I did think she had some really nice moments in Jared's death/funeral and was deserving of a prenom imo. I can't say I watched all things FF or CH, and though I think CH is a better actress thatn FF, I don't know what either may have done last year to warrant a nom over Tika or MA. I too think that it's a Frons thing there and I do think FF is Frons' new "it" girl imo. I'm VERY HAPPY for Brett and Scott. Outside of Tika, no one on the show touched me emotionally this past year. There was so many different moments imo, that when someone can "affect you emotionally", that is "real" acting imo. I wish them the best of luck. I agree that Scott may have a better chance with his coming out scenes but imo, Brett definitely has material that is very worthy of a good chance. As I've said before, I'm only on this journey because emotionally, Brett pulled me in to even care about this story at all. I think Brett was key to many falling for this pairing imo. I think we connected with Kyle's emotions and let him pull us into this Kish world initially. I wish them both the best and I'm so happy and proud of what these men are doing for daytime television. |

Supporting is a REALLY HARD category to sometimes even get a nom. For Brett to get on after only one year of screentime is HUGE in that alone imo. But supporting across the board is the hardest category with amazing talent. Some talent, that imo, should even be nominated for "lead" but there seems to be a "way" those lead noms continually happen and with "reasoning". You'll generally always see the same lead noms year after year and imo, sometimes those leads have really done more "supporting" work. So you have a huge open field with many fantastic actors who are in the supporting arena and it's brutal. I would have to know all that has happened on every soap to know if Brett has a good chance. I think Mark Lawson(if I remember correctly) had the storyline of dealing with the PTSD and therapy which is how Brody connected with Jessica but I'm not sure if that was this past year or not. Brian had some really great angsty dramatic material dealing with Jared's death and the drinking problem. I think Kyle had some great emotional material as well and has alot of good scenes to choose from so for me, I can't count him out but it's very hard to secure an Emmy nom in supporting for sure. |

I echo everyone's sentiment! Congrats to both guys! And I didn't realize Jeff Branson was on the list! I loved his Shayne on GL and was sorta hoping he might find his way to Llanview! |
