Posted Image Stare at this picture intently. It's all you're gonna hear about in the next few stanzas of poetry. You have been warned! ;) Somewhat inspired by the song Darkness Descends, by Matthew Popieluch http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f_58uKPPxjk Within Arm's Reach All the copious, healthy green Blooming all around us Just above our heads, the veritable 'frame' of our lives In between us, as we kept... the distance The hugs were never too tight, always to the side, the 'Christian' hug The looks furtive, coy, quick, rapid Lingering touches were enough for me To put a barrier where it need not go To say, 'This is the line, Kyle' 'You'd do well to stay behind it' Putting restrictions on your feelings, and mine And even if your touches drove me wild I couldn't tell you they did I'll wait... 'Till darkness descends When the night came When the world shut us out When the blankets and the sheets and the curtains When the barriers went up That was when I could show you what I wanted, what I needed That was when I could keep you within arm's reach, and further That Kappa Alpha Delta insignia like some scarlet letter the shield that protected us, that shielded us from ourselves, from other people If we were never frat brothers, could we have told the world what we were? Could I have told you what I felt then, instead of now? --- I always loved when you put your arm around me, Oliver Strong and firm, built to be an officer And even though my arm hung loose on your shoulder, I knew that I drove you insane at even the slightest touch There was this part of me This carnal monster The angry part of me That primal part of me Wanted to take you right there and kiss you fierce My tongue laying nothing but hot fire Molten romance As poignant and pungent as the green in the picture So dazzling, like your killer smile And my small, wisp of a grin I wish I could have smiled more then But you kept me from that But you know what? I kept this picture, and I still do because Even if the days of yore were terrible Filled with wars and strife and bloodshed Hey, okay, maybe I'm exaggerating I still liked loving you then And I like loving you now, too. |

Oh my god, you wrote this so quickly. I am in awe *bows* Did not think I'd be able to read about that picture ever again after beating my story into submission, but this was so lovely.

Oh man! This could be my mantra.
I was really moved by this one. This is Oliver's thoughts, right. I so identify with Oliver. I was even a cop, though a military one. Kyle is awesome, but Oliver is the one that touches me. I may have to fight you for him. Ha! |

No worries buddy. I only excel at two things. 1) anti-flirting. 2) putting my foot in my mouth. So if I'm the competition you'll win for sure. Ha! |
