Hi all. This is still PG-13 I think. Hope you enjoy! Chapter 5 All of the hard work he had put in seemed to fade completely away as Oliver struggled to accept his situation. He just couldn’t believe that he had created this. He wished like anything to be somewhere different but here he was over and over again. Hurting someone else, hurting himself. It was overwhelming and just plain too much for him. Chris and Layla had been great. He had his own private cheering section, but his actions spoke plainly for themselves and there was no cheering that could get him over that. He sunk himself into work, working additional shifts and overtime when he could get it. If John and Brody sensed that something was wrong, they didn’t show it or take it up with him. He stayed focused on the task at hand and when his thoughts went to Kyle, he purposely ended it with the mental image of the hurt in Kyle’s eyes as he walked away from him in the park. Oliver even deliberately avoided places where he thought he might run into Kyle or Nick to keep himself from thinking of him, of seeing him, particularly with Nick. He didn’t think he could take it right now. The nights were the worse, when he was left to his own devises. He did nearly anything to avoid thinking what was really in his heart. That he had lost the love of his life forever. One night, just as he and Brody were about to head home, they got a call about a disorderly at Rodi’s. They decided to respond to the call before heading back. It was late and Rodi’s was nearly deserted but Kyle was sitting at the bar. The manager came up to them right away to tell them that they had cut the man off but he was refusing to leave the bar. They thanked him and Oliver turned to Brody, ‘You know what. I’ve got this one. I know this guy. Would you mind responding to the station and I’ll take him home off duty.’ ‘Sure Fish. No problem. I’ll see you tomorrow.’ ‘See you, Brody.’ Oliver walked slowly up to Kyle and stood next to him at the bar. Kyle smirked, ‘See I knew you’d come. It’s hilariousss.’ He slurred, ‘Jus when they say they’ll call the cops on me. I think, well then I’ll wait.’ Oliver put a hand on his shoulder, ‘Then are you ready to go? I’m here. Let’s get you home.’ ‘Yesss, let’ss do that, shall we? How often do I get a police escort…’ He cracked himself up. ‘An escort, you get it Oliver.’ ‘ Let’s go, Kyle.’ Oliver had his arm, but as they got outside and felt that cold burst of air, Kyle sobered a minute. ‘I got it. I can walk, Oliver.’ ‘Okay, go ahead. Let’s see it.’ Kyle took a few teetering steps and nearly fell off the curb. ‘Okay, I got you.’ He put Kyle’s arm over his shoulder as he put one around his waist so he was nearly supporting all of Kyle’s weight. ‘It’s been awhile since we’ve done this Oliver. I think the last time you were just as smashed though.’ Oliver chuckled. ‘Yeah, those house parties. We always knew how to leave the place totally hammered.’ Kyle started looking around, ‘So all we need to do is find you something to drink now, huh? You know what I think I need to sit down.’, he said as they were passing a bench in the park. Oliver tried to keep him moving, ‘No, no Kyle. Let’s get you…’ Kyle plopped down on the bench. ‘Ah, what a great night. Let’s just stay out here.‘ Oliver sat down slowly, ‘I’m cold. Let’s get going, Kyle.’ Kyle started to fold himself around him. ‘I’ll get you warm. Don’t you worry.’ Oliver half-heartedly tried to fend him off. He tried to stand up. “Come on Kyle. Let’s stop messing around. You need to sleep this off.’ Kyle kept him down. ‘I don’t want to go. I want to sit here with you. Come on, Oliver. Please.’ ‘Okay, just for a minute.’ He relaxed a bit and sat back as Kyle snuggled up to him. As they sat for a few minutes in silence looking up at the night sky, Oliver began to wonder if Kyle was passing out. He looked over at him and found Kyle staring at him. ‘Kiss me, Oliver.’ ‘What?’ ‘You heard me, kiss me now like you did the other day.’ He just kept looking at Oliver. ‘I’m in uniform. Plus you’re drunk. You won’t even remember in the morning. You said you couldn’t be with me the other day. What’s this?’ Oliver turned away. ‘Come on, let’s get going.’ ‘No, one kiss Oliver. Then I’ll go wherever you want me to.’ He smiled that devilish grin and started pulling Oliver closer. ‘Kiss me. I know you want to.’ Oliver could feel his breath on his face as he came closer. They stayed like that for a few moments increasing the tension between them. Kyle reached up for his face feeling for the curve of Oliver’s neck and arched his body into him. ‘Oliver, come on.’ Oliver couldn’t stand it any longer and crushed his mouth down on Kyle which left them both groaning. Their mouths opened wider as they urged each other deeper. Oliver moved his hands around Kyle’s waist, grabbing onto his shirt, feeling his bare skin with his hands. They both fought each other for more of the other, groaning with the intensity, till Oliver broke it off. He laid his head on Kyle’s shoulder, breathing deeply. As he started to disengage to look around the park, Oliver groaned again as Kyle breathed into his ear and sucked on the lower lobe sending a jolt of more electricity through him. He moved Kyle away from him on the bench. ‘Okay, that was it. Now let’s go.’ Kyle smiled at him as Oliver stood up. Kyle got up unsteadily, reaching out for Oliver and wrapping his arms around him. ‘I’m impressed. You must really want me back if you can do all this in your uniform, outside in public .’ Oliver stood back from him. ‘What like this was a test? ‘ Kyle looked at him, ‘Well, kinda. I never thought you’d go for it so I thought I would give it try. It was awesome, wasn’t it?’ Oliver looked angry. ‘I wanted to see if you wanted me more than anything else.’ ’ Let’s go or else I’m leaving you here.’ Kyle grinned, ‘No, no officer, please take me home.’ He said cheerfully. ‘Room #15 at Angel’s Square Hotel. Let’s go. ‘ Edited by sporter, Sep 30 2009, 05:15 PM.
