Sorry for the long delay. I would like to thank Appleridge for posting Part 2 for me. Here it goes. Part 3 “What exactly do you have in mind, Vega?” asked Kyle. “I was thinking we can watch a movie. I’ve got an extensive collection of movies downloaded for free from the internet,” suggested Cris. Natalie was awash in glee. “Oh, do you have “The Notebook”? Makes me cry every time,” Nat mentioned. “This would be the 12th time, honey,” whined Jared. “Besides, you can watch it with Jess, your mom, and Gigi when you girls hang out. You’re outnumbered here 4 to 1. How about Shrek 3?” Mr. Banks received a slap on the shoulder from Mrs. Banks. “Let’s watch “One Night in Paris”, no not the one with the famous hotel heiress, if you were wondering,” chortled Cristian. “How about Brokeback Mountain? I hear it’s sexy,” coughed Kyle. “No,” speedily answered Fish. “Two guys kissing is just plain GROSS. Like, their mustaches would be touching and all. Like, eww!” “Can we agree on one movie? Good golly,” shrieked Natalie. “Quit waving your jugs at me, girl,” laughed Cristian. “Since we can’t come up with a unified decision. Forget the movie. Let’s play a board game! Since there’s only one game I have, we can never fight about which one to play,” “Monopoly? Why?” wondered Kyle. “I could never win that crap. I usually have to resort to cheating,” “Good idea, Cris. Let’s play Monopoly. I’m gonna keep a close eye on Dr. Crook here,” spoke Fish, who raised his eyebrow at Kyle. “I’m gonna need you guys to run me down on how to play. It’s been a while,” said Nat. “We have no time to explain, honey. Let’s just play as a team,” suggested Jared. “That’s not part of the rules. No fair,” yammered Kyle. “You’re one to talk about rules, buddy,” snipped Fish. “OK, Jared and Natalie can play together. Kyle, you and Fish team up. I can beat all you guys playing solo,” announced Cristian, who pulled the game box from the closet. “Well, looks like we’re working together, baby” grinned Jared towards Natalie. He then proceeded to give her a soft peck on the cheek. “Well, looks like we’re working together, baby” grinned Kyle towards Oliver. “Don’t even think about it,” warned Fish. At the same time, Cristian pulled out the tokens. “I call the cool racecar,” he announced. “I want the little doggie. Jared, don’t even say anything,” said Natalie. “It looks like a nice female dog. Like token, like…” Jared teased until Nat elbowed him in the side. “The old shoe would be a good fit,” called out Fish. “Why would you want that, anyhow?” asked Kyle. “Just because, Kyle. Any other questions?” glared Fish. “Hey, I’ve got an idea. Let’s play with real money! Winner takes all,” suggested Kyle. “You don’t even have that much money, dude. Unless you pulled some sneaky little maneuver yet again,” barked Natalie. “Good grief,” resigned Kyle. “I love this high-tech Monopoly set. Electronic banking. Can’t deal with all that paper,” smiled and admiring Cris. “OK, let’s roll for positions,” yelled out Jared, who grabbed the dice and got a 4. Afterwards, Fish got a hold of the dice. As he was getting ready to roll, Kyle groaned, “Why do you get to roll, Oliver?” With a dumbfounded look on his face, Fish asked, “Why does it matter, Kyle?” “We’re playing as a team here. I wanna get to have some control,” explained Kyle. “Figures,” said Fish as he rolled his eyes. He tossed the dice to Kyle. Kyle rolled a 12. “Told ya,” After the game got started, Cristian took an early lead, grabbing the whole green section and controlling all the railroads. “Jared and Natalie, you should be ashamed of yourselves. You two play the real life version of this game at BE,” commented Cristian. “You’re a riot, Cristian…NOT!” giggled Natalie. “You roll one more double, Kyle, and we’re going to jail,” called out Fish. “Ooh, scared of Big Bad Bubba?” taunted Kyle. Jared threw his hands up in disgust. “I’m sick of you two and your petty jabs at each other. I can’t even concentrate on thinking of a good deal for Cris’s Boardwalk,” he scolded. “You ain’t gettin’ my Boardwalk, sucka,” peeped Cristian. “It’s getting late. Jared and I need to turn in. I don’t think we were gonna win anyways,” announced Natalie. “Yes, honey. I’m getting tired of the childishness around here,” chipped in Jared. Cristian blew a raspberry at him. A bit later With Natalie and Jared gone, Cris, let down that he didn’t have his chance to win the game, headed for bed. Oliver and Kyle were left to their own devices in the living room. Kyle grabbed the clicker and turned on the TV for an old rerun of ER. “Do you mind?” whined Fish. “I’m gonna be trying to sleep while you have the TV blaring at full volume,” “That’s what closed captioning is for. I thought you were a technogeek? I’m sick and tired of your little hateful comments. What’s your big problem with me?” challenged Kyle. “Don’t even bring up the whole Kyle-is-a-criminal BS, because it is never about that. What have I ever, personally and directly, done that is so horrible that you reduce yourself to being a catty little girl whenever I’m near? Seriously, man.” Oliver took a seat next to Kyle and clenched his fists in agitation. “I don’t know, man. Getting too close to you scares me. Do you know how much it hurts me to have to distance myself from you? Gah, I wish I could just control myself, but part of me just…” Words failed Fish. He pulled Kyle for a tight hug. “I’m sorry you feel that way. This isn’t what you asked for, I know that,” whispered Kyle, patting Fish’s shoulder. “However, it just bothers me why you have to take it out on me. As if it’s my fault that you have to go through all your woes and sorrows. You are so hard to deal with,” “Yup, but I think that gives flavor to my life, Kyle. It would be so boring if I had everything figured out,” Oliver beamed. Kyle looked at Fish with a smile. It seemed like the Oliver he knew in college was shining through the cracks. “Hey, if you stay up for about an hour more, we can watch One Tree Hill together. We can make fun of Tim Smith and his stupidity together, just like the old days,” invited Kyle. “I’d love that.” Fish knew that his college days with Kyle can never be swept under the rug, but it amazed him to see how their friendship can still be alive after all this years.
