I really hope they address how the other cops will deal with Fish. I would think some would have their reservations, which would be pure soapy drama. |

I agree. If Ron C. keeps his promise that this is Oliver's journey, he better address how the men in blue react to one of their own coming out the closet. I have a feeling that enough time has passed that Clint has gotten over his stupidity when the Billy Douglas story played out in the early 90s. I mean, he's marrying Nora, who was married to and had relations with Daniel Coulson. If he's still super homophobic, then arguably he wouldn't want to be intimate with a woman who's had sex with a gay man. John McBain wouldn't react to Oliver's coming out. That character has no reaction to ANYTHING. He's so blase and so stoic. I don't get the appeal of that character at all. |

I totally agree with everything you've said here Kishfan. What a great show today. Both Scott and Tika did a great job with the words they were given. Spectacular performances and very heartfelt. I got a little choked up when Oliver said "Me too. You have no idea." And Tika did a great job of showing Layla's realization of why Oliver was acting the way he was. The OLTL writers and producers do a really good job of setting up story so that it can play out over a good period of time and really develop the characters and story. The meeting with Cris and Brody was important because of the connection with Jessica. Who knows what might happen way down the line with that. I also hope that Oliver gets involved in the undercover story with John and Cole. That gives the Oliver the possibility of great danger and/or being a hero. And if Oliver gets in a dangerous situation it might give Kyle an opportunity to save Oliver/John/Cole and get a bit of redemption (OLTL is big on redemption for bad boys and girls). And throwing Brody in the mix as a new police officer just gives the show a real opportunity to bring all these new characters slowly but more solidly into the history of the show. That's good storytelling. And I can't see Brody as being anything but supportive. Great performances today all around. |

spot on here. The only thing I don't agree with is Scott's haircut. I'm an unapologetic 70s guy when it comes to guy's hair. I'm not enjoying the see-through-to-the-scalp buzz cut. I rather enjoy a bit of hair to run my fingers through. :halo: But, different strokes, eh. I also look forward to seeing how Brett plays the scene as he reads Oliver's letter. How lucky we all are that we have great writers, production standards and really talented actors. This is pretty good stuff here man. I'm really enjoying it. |

Just watched the scenes between Oliver and Layla (yes, again). Oliver says he's been single for the last EIGHT months. Who was his last significant other? EIGHT months before yesterday goes back farther than from when he met Stacy. I'm forgetting, but did Fish have a GF/BF(?) while he was still stationed in Cherryvale? |

I'm a little late to the party I only got now the chance to see the episode (thank you Anthony for the clip!) Scott did an amazing job to nail that part. I can't wait to see Kyle reaction to the letter, poor guy. My only complain is that it's been sometime since we had a scene with the two of them together and I'm really waiting for the next one :) |

I was thinking Fish might have had a BF back in Cherryvale. It was a smaller town and he didn't know anybody there, so he can hide better. |

I was wondering about the 8 months remark as well. He didn't specify the gender of this person.... |

yh, i was wondering about , that too, i think its probably a girl though. I loved yesterday's episode but, I kinda expected letter to give more clues to fish's sexuality though. Edited by devillies, Jul 22 2009, 09:46 AM.
