I just watched Anthony's clips for today's show. Scott was spot on with his character today. You saw his inner turmoil: be the person who he truly wants to be and feels that he can't vs. what everyone expects of him and what he has to do in order to survive/please others. I get the feeling that he knew he was gay in high school and/or he was teached by other students. Along with being harrassed about being a computer geek. He has been able to live his life long dream: to be a police officer. However, he has to play "their" game in order to stay in the profession he is in. He has to be able to fit in and "be one of the guys" or "be a player" Oliver: I have to be one or I won't survive. . . . . Later on, Layla tells him: "I wish you didn't have to be a play those games. Oliver ripped at my heart when he answered her: "Me too. You have no idea." He made us see that "yes, we did have an idea what he was going through." ****** I think we might have saw some foreshadowing today. Oliver is going to be in trouble while undercover. He is probably going to be harassed by his coworkers, blacklisted, no one is going to want to work with him. I see danger while he is on John's drug operation sting. I also think the dirty cop will be the ring leader in giving Oliver a hard time. The up side may be that Brody will befriend him, despite the fact that he hates his ex-boyfriend, Kyle. Brody, may be the one to see Oliver leave Kyle's room in the wee hours of the morning ;) I think Kyle will get wind of the danger Oliver is in and will try to help. ******* I also think that along with the job pressure, he will have family pressure, especially from his father. I remember him telling Layla that he didn't have the courage to tell his father that he was partners with a female officer. So, can you imagine, what his father would say/do when he finds out his son is gay, has a boyfriend, and is love with someone who is a little to the left side of the law! ***** Now I can't wait until tomorrow. Kyle dodging Cristian's questions and Kyle thinking about his man! Aww, poor Fish. The life he has chosen for himself (the whole "playa" thing/being a cop) gives him so much hardship. Kyle, please, come help your man.

I also liked it that today allowed Scott to portray some, "darker" material for Fish.

In case anyone is interested, here is the letter Oliver wrote to Kyle: Kyle, I know you talked to Christian Vega. You told him that I was using Layla, but I'm not. I care about her. She's a great girl, and I want to be with her. So, please BACK OFF! Whatever, you think you know about me, it was a long time ago. I'm NOT that guy anymore. For both our sakes, get on with your life, and STOP MESSING WITH MINE. Oliver Well, I must say, I recognized a couple parts of my fanfic in the letter that was read by Christian: Kyle and Oliver! :LMAO: I thought there were a few tell-tale signs that would/should raise some flags: 1) So back off! 2) . . .it was a long time ago. I'm not that guy anymore. 3) For both our sakes, get on with your life. 4) He signed the letter as Oliver! i noticed the similarities between you letter and the one olliver wrote too!

this is the first time i really thought Scott got to show off his acting chops - also Fish's mantra, psyching himself up to have sex with Layla - what a turn off! ;P
has anyone watch the show when Fish had a thing with Stacy? what was that like?
a lot of people are trying to make a big deal out of it and it wasnt. he had sex with her once! she came on to him and after they had sex fish went around telling people he had found the one. stacy put an end to it real quick and that was that. if anything i would say he was trying to do with stacy what he's trying to do with layla. only this time its better b/c last time it look like fish was this love sick puppy who aint never had sex before. who was being a total jerk to layla [ she was one first] and a creepy loser with stacy. but i always loved him and his scenes with stacy just seemed misplaced.
I'm not even lurking at SOC for a while. I can't believe they are debating a scene that aired 50 million years ago in soap time. Also, Fish was nothing but day player non-entity back then. Awww, don't let them get to you. LOL. They can debate Fish's sexuality all they want but it's written in stone and I don't see them changing it.

Both Scott Evans and Tika Sumpter were amazing today: Layla's eyes getting watery when she couldn't get through to Oliver why it wasn't cool to announce their DL relationship; Oliver's slow revelations that he's a big bag of insecurities; Oliver's desire to be one of the guys, which appears to be a struggle that he's faced all his life... Just great stuff. I can't wait to see Brett Claywell's Kyle's reaction to Oliver's letter.
And how hot does Scott's haircut look! The back of his head turned me on for some reason...
Oh my God... those Stacy/Gigi scenes made me feel like I was watching SHOWGIRLS...
Anyway, now that we've seen that Scott can beautifully handle the dramatic stuff, I'm even more excited for this story to go full speed ahead...

I want to echo everything said here. I just rewatched the scenes and am still blown away by Scott's terrific performance (and superbly aided by Tika Sumpter's portrayal of Layla). This was great, great stuff. (And the stuff with Stacy was deliciously campy fun!)
I do hope they explore Fish's relationships with his fellow cops and how they treat him. A question for long-time viewers: in OLTL's previous gay storylines, how did Bo and John react, or did they not have any part in those stories? Based on how I see them now, I can't imagine either of them thinking it a big deal.

Based on how I see them now, I can't imagine either of them thinking it a big deal. Bo has proven himself in the Daniel Colson story to be tolerant. I would assume John is too.

Of any Buchanan having a issue would be Clint. he was horrible during the Billy douglas story. Asa even called him out on it.
