Walking through the Burning Plains, Harken stops and takes a moment to look around. Unable to understand why the locals would refer to this place as the "Burning" Plains when it was clearly nothing more then a normal grassland. Looking to his side, he's startled by the appearance of another person. Hoping the stranger is either a potential recruit for his force or simply an innocent traveller, he gently touches the hilt of his sword, just in case...

OOC: Anyone can join.

Raising an eyebrow, Harken looked around, expecting some sort of explosion or ambush to appear. Seeing nothing, he turned back to Takashi.

Harken: ...What's going to start any minute now? *slowly relaxes*

Takashi: Hehe, aah, you must be here by chance then. Well, pay close attention. This is something you aren't going to want to miss.

Suddenly the small little lights that were the spirits of fire rose from the grass. Floating around in disorder, they suddenly zoomed together, and created a giant whirlwind. The ones at the top began to come out away from the whirlwind then, and as they spread out the lower ones followed suit until they became a near flat spinning spiral in the air. Then the spirits reformed their shape into a barred spiral formation, and then each bar went off in its own direction, leaving a trail of multicolored flames as it went. They went a ways then did a circle and came back, then each broke off into their own little group and went off to create fires and dance.

Takashi: Amazing...

Harken: Heh, I can see how this place got it's name....yes, it is quite beautiful. The power of fire...although it's a destructive force something about it draws us in...makes us feel..."warm". Is it the sheer power of the fire, do we simply desire to harness that power for ourselves? Or is the destruction of the fire what draws us in? Deep down all humans enjoy destroying, some even more then creating. But people generally are defined by which they enjoy more, creating, or destoring. Tell me, which are you. A creator, or a destroyer? *his eyes are glued to the dancing flame, he speaks while watching them move.*

Takashi listens to this speech, taking in every word. Following a flitting spirit, he smiles.

Takashi: My friend, I am but a dreamer.

He walks over to the nearest dancing design of flame.

Takashi:.. This fire.. beauty beyond words.. and you know, *looks over at the man*, Fire.. it can be destructive. But look around you. This grass.. so fragile beneath our feet... Not one blade is burnt, and the are fires all around us.

Takashi then reaches his hand into the fire, and pulls out a miniature flame in his palm, and shows it to the man.

Takashi: What draws us to fire? No.. I think the true question, is why we are drawn to each other.. The warmth that we feel is created by the bond of trust we share. The destruction.. that is what we experience when we try to harness the power. Spirits need to be free. They speak to us night and day... all you have to do is hear, without listening.

Takashi closes his hand, extinguishing the fire. He then turns and walks back towards the man.

Takashi: Somebody once told me,

In the wake, men search for logic.
And find but never ending insanity.
In their sleep, they dream,
And never question the unreality.
They instead take comfort,
Using that which is shown,
To face that which is found.

But You will never See if you don't try,
And you well never try if you don't believe.
Consciousness is ignorance...
And the true limit on men... Is perceiving reality.

OOC: These italics aren't thoughts ^_^

Harken: People do indeed need to be free, but power is useless unless it is channeled. All of this fire is quite beautiful, but it is nothing more. This untapped power goes to waste, prancing about. There are so many practical things we could do with the same amount of energy, and yet we have not the ability to harness it. I am a creator as well as a destroyer. With one hand I create, and with the other I destroy. It is impossible to create a new world if an old one exists, you must first destroy the old world to make way for the new.

Harken: ...Harken. *takes his hand for a moment and shakes it before letting go.* I have cast aside my last name, just as I have cast aside who I once was. A name is a fickle thing. Rulers come and go, countries are renamed, but morality remains intact. I judge on the content of character, not appearance or name. Morals are one of the few things in this world that will never betray you. *looks at the flames again and then closes his eyes.*

Takashi: Interesting theory you have there. And I must agree with one fact, Morals are definitely one of the few things you can judge a person by. And yes on the contrary It will most often you who betrays your morals. But then again, one could always ask, are the morals worth betraying?
