Happy New Year to all of you! What are you doing to celebrate? Did you make any resolutions? I'm making pizza and trying to stay up late. We got chips, dip, cheese, shrimp, and pop. |

We had pizza for supper & probably just watch the new Years specials on TV. We're kind of a close family anyways & now that were all together again we're kind of catching up on being together again. |

The Babylonians began celebrating the New Year around 2000 BC in the month of March, as this coincided with their prosperous growing season. When the Romans took control, the New Year remained in March; however, since the emperors tended to have control issues, the calendar changed. Julius Caesar fixed the calendar New Year as January 1. At that time, the Catholic religion was set on stamping out paganism, and since the Romans were considered pagans, the Pope eradicated the celebration of the New Year in Christian society; however, in 380 A.D. the Church's alternative, also celebrated on the first, was the Feast of Christ's Circumcision. In the end, Christianity became so widespread that pagan holidays and Christian holidays began to coincide and, by the late 1500s, the church had adopted the Caesarian calendar and officially proclaimed January 1 as New Year's Day. So which ever holiday you wish to celebrate, I hope the best for you in the new year. Mod: Check yahoo too. Edited by L'Roy, Dec 31 2009, 09:19 PM.

I remembered something I read in one of my mangas so I got it out to read it again & one of the things they did to celebrate New Years was to take small little pieces of paper & write down the bad things that happened in the year & then burn the paper so that's what I'm going to do. Right after I apologize to someone. Just saw the time: HAPPY NEW YEARS EVERYONE ! ! ! |

A big happy new years hug to all of you. I watched the 3 Stooges movies on TV and then the ball drop in NY City. Let's party! Does anyone have any champange? I got into Dad's Cherry Pie Liqueur. Oh, it's so sweet. |

Happy new year! I'm having Champagne tomorrow, everyone was too tired to have it tonight. I feel like I'm getting sick though, but hopefully not. My mom is sick with a cold, so I really don't want to get that. Does anyone else have any new years traditions? From when I was little every year I would change into pajamas and a diaper really early and my whole family would move our beds down to my den and watch the ball drop and then all go to sleep in the same room. We haven't done the bed thing for the past few years because we're getting older, but the changing into pajamas thing still stuck. This feels like the one night of the year when I don't really mind wearing a diaper because it's part of the tradition. Normally I don't put on a diaper until right before I go to sleep, but this sort of goes back to when I was like 8 and my parents still changed me, they would always make me get ready for bed early on new years even though we were staying up late, and I never felt like I was in pajamas until after they changed me. Now it just reminds me of then so I it even though I don't have to. Like all the holidays are starting to feel more like normal days just because I'm older now, so I like to do that one thing to bring me back to when holidays were more important to me. Oh, and when I was older it was also the one night a year my sister had to wear a diaper other than we were on vacation because she always wet a little, but less than me, but when we were all sleeping in the same room my parents wanter her in a diaper, so it also brings me back to when I could be in diapers and she couldn't make fun of me for it because she was in one too. I don't know, this should really be in the how do you deal with wearing diapers thread probably. |
