"Not remember? Is that possible?" Staring at the boy I knew this must be hard for him as well but without his name we would have more trouble locating his home, "Do you remember where you live? What part of town even?" I asked hoping that it was just his name he didn't remember

I'm on crack, aren't you?
"NO!! I DON'T REMEMBER ANYTHING AT ALL!!!!" I shouted, becoming very angry at all the questions. He jumped back from the sudden outburst, "Alright, please just calm down" The pain I was feeling before must have been numming or I just didn't notice it at this point because I was full on rage, my fist shaking if I could have gotten out of the bed I would have. "Calm down!? How would YOU like it if you didn't remember anything anymore!? Don't come in here telling me to calm down when you don't even know me at all!! You're just some guy who thinks he can waltz in here saying he saved my life and expect me to be your best friend now, NO! That's not how it works and you need to just back the hell off me before I..." I trailed off, he had gotten closer again during my yelling, and was in major violation of my personal space.

The boy's yelling was loud and the frustration was clear in it, though as his anger rose I saw something strange starting to happen. The boy was obviously unaware of what was happening as the aura of the room began to grow dark and the small burns that covered him started to melt away. This was a rare trait that I thought only the Angels possed, moving closer I had to be sure it was the Angelic healing. His anger seemed to faulter somewhat as I inspected what was happening. Now sure that it was the power only the Angels carried in their blood I was even more curious about him, "You're coming with me" Leaving the room I went to speak with the doctor, explaining to him that the boy didn't remember anything and that he should be released into my care for the time being. After a long talk in his office he agreed that until the boy's parents were found he would be best in my hands. Now all that was left was to tell this to the boy who seemed to hate my very presence.

Him coming back in the room I started to question him, obviously he had been ignoring my shouts as he left, "What do you mean I'm going with you?!" Showing no emotion on his face it made me slightly nervous, "It's already been decided" I twitched at these words, "DECIDED!?" He moved closer again trying to quiet me, "Don't make a big deal of this, do try to remain calm" I turned away from him, in order to 'remain calm' I would have had to be calm in the first place, "Why would they even let me go with you anyway?!" He smirked slightly, "They do seem to like me and think I would make a nice foster home for the time being" This struck a blow to me, "F-foster home!?" I stared at him in disbelif, "Living....with him?!" Before I could protest anymore the door had opened again and a nurse brought in a wheelchair, "Hello gentlemen, I figured you would need this" Glancing down at the leg that still had the cast I groaned, "I'm not being wheeled around like a damn cripple" The man nodded at her and she laughed a bit, "Well would you like some crutches then?" Knowing that I couldn't walk on my own I settled for the next best thing, "I guess..." Crossing my arms I watched as she left then soon returned with a pair and handing them to me she smiled, "Well you two can just head on out then, stay safe" She skipped off and the man who it looked like I would be staying with watched me as I got to my feet clumsily, I had never done this before and it felt awkward. "Would you like some assistance?" He offered. "No I can walk on my own!" I spat at him, the last thing I wanted was his help. Making my way out of the room he followed closely behind me, "Are you sure you don't want some help? I could carry you, I'm quite strong and carried you before with no trouble at all" Stopping to glare at him I fumbled to turn and face him, "Listen you! I don't need help and I don't need you!" Making my way out of the hospital he kept following me, "Do you at least want to know which way my home is?" Groaning a bit I sulked and slowly nodded, I had no place else to go. My choices were very few. Letting him walk in front of me he was looking at a strange device I had never seen before, or at least I didn't think I had. He stared at it for a long moment before he spoke, "That can't be right..."

Taking a deep breath, I let the bitingly cold air fill my lungs, an almost purifying feeling, before sighing softly. I pull my black, knee-length trench coat tighter against my small, thin body, though even this layer of finely crafted leather hardly stood up against the stabbing winds that billowed between these cold-industrial buildings. How I hated them so; the buildings that is. So lifeless, so uninspiring, so...cold. The last word passes through my mind as another gust sends shivers crashing across my body.

Yet despise my hatred for the modern, metal-jungle landscape, here I was again; standing in this very spot. The very spot I had stood on time and time again. I touched my cheek, closing my eyes and rememberiing. It was here, wasn't it?. Where last her hand graced my skin, and how my body quivers still when I think of the soft, pale moonlight sparkling off of those amber eyes. Oh what glory. There at that moment in time I stood, velvet-soft lips pressed against mine in a memory unfaded. What words did I speak so softly into your ear, that even today, so many years past, I have not been able to repeat onto another; how sweet they did sound as they returned from your lips as well.

With eyes still closed I reach out in a vain attempt at holding on to this passing memory, desperately grasping at the past that was supposed to be my future. But as the vision fades, and it all wisps away I feel the heat starting to rise. For here, in this very spot, at this very location, the place where it all began, is where all would also end. How I now grimace in pain as the less savory memories of this place come to the fore. That awful smell, of fire and burnt flesh. How it still haunts me. The warmth of her embrace is suddenly replaced by the scorching heat of a thousand suns and my eyes snap open as I hear that all-familiar scream in my mind. How I would give anything to stop that screaming and to end this burning!

In an instant I am back, the cold city winds groaning between those great, metal leviathan structures and the burning is extinguished by the biting winds of this cold city's night. I blink a few tears out of my eyes and shake the memory away before looking down onto the ground where Her tombstone marker once lay, though history long saw to it being removed and paved over. I suppose it was really of no importance, seeing as how Her body was never found, and thus never buried her in the first place. However, that did not stop me from making my annual trip here to drop off a single, solitary white rose. She liked those best after all.

I take one last look back at the spot where my life flourished, and the spot where it was taken away just as quickly, before I solemnly begin the long walk back down the street to the house that was more a shelter and less a home. I breath out a long puff of air and it instantly becomes visible in front of my face, the cold seeming to linger in this city no matter what time of year. I keep my eyes forward and low, my mind always on the past and what should have been, especially this time of year.

It came suddenly and without warning and my eyes shot wide. I shake my head and try and focus. There was no way that that was what I thought it was...I rub my temples stressfully before sighing. "I am really starting to lose it, huh?" I mutter to myself, "for a second...I could have sworn I felt..." I pause, not able to finish the sentence, though I continue to contemplate that odd pulse of energy that had moments ago ripped through the air and shook me down to my core. It was as if now, at this place, where everything had happened, something was calling me, pulling me to a far-away and unknown location. As if the past had merged with the present and I was trapped somewhere between the two. "I may be going crazy...but that aura...there is no mistaking it..." I say to no one but myself before I spread my wings and look off into the horizon, there must be an explanation and I was going to find out...

Watching my radar pointing one way then the other then finally spinning wildly in circles I stowed it for now, "What could be throwing off my readings?" The kid that I had rescued didn't seem to care for me much, and with every passing moment the tension seemed to grow. "So we have no clue as to what your name is?" I thought outloud, "I guess we'll need to figure out something to use until we can figure it out proper" I knew he would resent anything I picked so looking back at him I forced a smile, "What would you like to be called?"

Thinking for a moment no names came to mind, "I don't know..." The man seemed troubled by this but remained smiling, "My sister had a lovely name if you wouldn't mind it" I blinked at his offer, "Sister...? YOU'D GIVE ME A GIRLS NAME!?!?" He stared at me, as if not knowing why I was angry at this. "Just let me think for a minute..." We walked to streets more when I name vaugly crossed my mind, "Erick?" The man turned to face me at the name, "Is that what you want to be called?" I nodded slightly, "I guess so...it's the only thing I can think of" He nodded, approving my choice, not that I needed him to. Small talk was kept to a minimum until we reached a large highrise. "Whoa..." Looking up it must have had over a hundred floors. "Come along Erick" Leading the way inside he led me to the elevator only to find an 'out of order' sign hanging across it. "I guess we'll be walking to the top floor then" He stated heading for the stairs, and looking down at my crutches it was with a sink of defeat I realised this was going to be harder then I thought.

"Would you like me to carry you?" I calmly offered, though this seemed to offend him more, "I can do it myself!!" Watching him make his way up the stairs it was hours before we reached the top. Opening the door to my home I saw that it was almost sunset, "Well here we are, I'm sorry but I must leave you now" Erick seemed confused by my sudden need to leave but once night fell I had to be on watch for deamons. He started to protest once more, something he seemed to like to do, "You're going to leave me all alone here now?! What kind of adult are you!?" Letting out a sigh I figured that a few more minutes couldn't hurt, at least enough to calm him. Showing him around the house I found a place for him to stay, a small room that I hadn't been using. Seeing the sun almost set I left him in this room and making sure that he wasn't looking I went out to the balcony. The sun was almost set, I had to leave now. Taking one more look around I spread my wings and dove off the railings, then high into the clouds before I was spotted

Exiting the room I called ahead of me into the room, "So what about food?" Looking around the room he was nowhere to be found. "Oh fine ditch me why don't you..." Going back to the small room that was now mine I sat on the floor setting the crutches down next to me, "Stupid cast..." Tapping it lightly it made a small thunk. "Well now what am I supposed to do...?" Being a teenager stuck in a house was one thing, but to be stuck in a room hardly able to even walk was a distaster waiting to happen.

ooc: oh god what are you going to do to my house o_o

Scanning the city I checked my tracker again, the farther I got from my house the clearer my readings were getting, though I was unable to pick up the signal of the demon I had been sent to find. Letting out a sigh I knew that the only way to find her now was to ask around, and I knew just the spot to do it in. Spiralling down to the entrance of a large sewer pipe I began to walk inside, to the underground city of demons. Putting my wings away I knew this was a place no angel dared go, but I also knew it was the best place to gather information. Heading deeper inside it began to get darker and darker, and soon I couldn't see at all. Though I heard voices and headed for them. Seeing a group of three demons talking near a wall I assumed the entrance was nearby, and sure enough after a moment they opened the wall up to show the gateway. Waiting for them to vanish inside I quickly ran in behind them. No matter how many times I saw it I was still amazed at the size and how many demons roamed these streets. Most were allowed to live here by order of the angel high counsel but there were some on the run, hiding amoungst their own kind as not to be found. This is where I would begin my search.

My journey had taken me quite a ways from where I once was. My wings struck thunderously into the air, beating furiously against the turbulent air and the bullet-like rain as it raked across my body in pounding waves. Blinking some of the fatigue from my eyes I strained the crystal-blue orbs through the dark, and rain-created haze before spotting my destination.

There was no mistaking it now, at this close of a range I could feel that familiar aura radiating from the place. Gasping for breath I changed my course towards the dwelling, the joints in my wings groaning in protest as I force them to fight the wind with all of my might. I grit my teeth as I grow closer to the building, the wind becoming more erratic and rigorous to fly in, and as I am mere inches from the balcony, a large up-gust of wind catches my wings and with a sickening snap I feel one of them go limp.

Desperately my hands flail for some form of hold; fortunately my fingers find the cold, steel bars of the balcony's railing, thought the rain has made them slickened and wet. With one hand I hold onto that last life line, not bothering to look down for I knew that I was high enough to where the fall may just well kill me, no bother knowing just how high that was. My muscles strain against my weight but I finally manage to shakily hoist myself over the ledge of the balcony, my fingers having left their impressions upon the steel, my hands super-human strength having compressed the metal of the bar in my efforts.

As I lay on the rain-soaked patio, I feel my fatigue finally starting to set in; the world goes blurry, spinning around my head before I slip into darkness. As I lay passed out on the ground, I cannot help but to wonder as to what about this area made him so weakened....
