More Uses for Vinegar 1. Kill grass on walks and driveways. Pour full strength on unwanted grass. 2. Kill weeds. Spray full strength on tops of weeds. Reapply on any new growth until plants have starved. 3. Increase soil acidity. In hard water areas, add a cup of vinegar to a gallon of tap water for watering acid loving plants like rhododendrums,gardenias, or azaleas. The vinegar will release iron in the soil for the plants to use. 4. Neutralize garden lime. Rinse your hands liberally with vinegar after working with garden lime to avoid rough and flaking skin. Clean pots before repotting, rinse with vinegar to remove excess lime. 5. Deter ants. Spray vinegar around door and window frames, under appliances, and along other known ant trails. 6. Keep car windows frost free. Coat the windows the night before with a solution of three parts vinegar to one part water. 7. Polish car chrome. Apply full strength with a soft cloth. 8. Soak new propane latern wicks in vinegar for several hours. Let dry before using. Will burn longer and brighter. 9. Clean milking equipment. Rinse with vinegar to leave system clean, odorless, and bacteria free without harmful chemical residue. 10. Remove skunk odor from a dog. Rub fur with vinegar. 11. Keep cats away. Pour equal amounts of vinegar and water into the iron's water chamber. Turn to steam and leave the iron on for 5 minutes in an upright postion. Then uplug and allow to cool. Any loose particles should come out when you empty the water. 54. Clean a scorched iron plate. Heat equal parts vinegar and salt in a small pan. Rub solution on the cooled iron surface to remove dark or burned stains. 55. Get rid of lint in clothes. Add 1/2 cup of vinegar to the rinse cycle. 56. Keep colors from running. Gently rub on fruit, jam, mustard, coffee, tea. Then wash as usual. 61. Get smoke smell out of clothes. Add a cup of vinegar to a bath tub of hot water. Hang clothes above the steam. 62. Remove decals. Brush with a couple coats of vinegar. Allow to soak in. Wash off. 63. Clean eyeglasses. Wipe each lens with a drop of vinegar. 64. Freshen cut flowers. Add 2 tablespoons vinegar and 1 teaspoon sugar for each quart of water. |

Seven types of vinegar & their uses... White Vinegar White vinegar can be made by oxidizing a distilled alcohol. It can be used for cleaning as well as culinary uses. Uses: 1. It removes rust from metals 2. Clean your hair with 10ml vinegar after shampooing and rinse thoroughly to give a natural glow to your hair 3. Vinegar removes all stains from clothes 4. Spray vinegar on weeds between cracks using spray bottle to kill them 5. Spray a little amount of vinegar on stainless steel fixtures and clean with a soft cloth to give them a spark 6. Soak your silverware in the mixture of 2 teaspoons baking soda and 20ml vinegar for one or two hours. Then rinse them and clean with a soft cloth to shine them like new ones. 7. Wipe down the blades of your scissors with a soft cloth dipped in vinegar to make them clean and polish 8. Clean your wooden and leather furniture with a cloth after spraying small amount of vinegar to revitalize them 9. Vinegar removes mineral deposits and shines ceramic tiles 10. It works as a disinfectant and very effective in cleaning bathtubs and sinks 11. Spray a little vinegar under each arm after bathing and let it dry. This protect from perspiration odor. 12. Wipe the cold sore with a cotton ball dipped in vinegar three times a day to ease the pain the swelling 13. Use the mixture of equal amounts of cider vinegar and water for acne. This can be used as a skin toner. But this vinegar can be dangerous to eyes. 4. It is a wonderful solution for dandruff. It is also used as a conditioner. 5. It is a powerful home remedy for warts 6. Adding a cup or two cups of cider vinegar to bathing water relaxes you from aching muscles 7. You can use cider vinegar as a mouth wash. Mix one tablespoon apple cider vinegar and ½ table spoon salt in a glass lukewarm water and gargle with it for a fresh breath. This works for a sore throat too. 8. Dab aging spots with a cotton ball saturated in apple cider vinegar twice a day. Within a month or two, you can observe the result. 9. Apple, tomato, raspberry and quince are some of the fruit flavors used for making this vinegar. Uses: 1. It is very useful in the preparation of fruit salads 2. It can be used as salad dressing 3. It can be used as a marinade for meats 4. Gives additional flavor and aroma to salads and cooked vegetables Malt Vinegar Malt vinegar is made by malting barley. Uses: 1. It gives flavor to fishes and chips 2. It is famous for pickling especially walnut pickles Balsamic Vinegar Balsamic vinegar is made from cooked grapes. It is widely used in Italian cuisines.
