If you're using only one browser and it goes down (admittedly this seldom happens) a second or even a third browser can let you connect with the internet.

A browser can become corrupted and crash and sometimes this requires you to re-install the browser.

How to do that if you can't access the internet? Simple, have a back up browser. You don't "have" to use it, but it's there if you need it.
