And Moses went up unto God, and the LORD called unto him out of the mountain, saying, Thus shalt thou say to the house of Jacob, and tell the children of Israel; (Exodus 19:3 KJV) Some suggest that "the house of Jacob" refers specifically to the women and "the children of Israel" is the men. The reason that this is noteworthy is because it is the women who will first speak the commands into the ears of their children, and thus by priority, the Law is spoken to the women first. |
