The Wing of Feylyn
Name: Ryvaken Lucius Tadrya Species: Faerie Height: 6.03 inches Weight: 1.02 ounces Nationality: Feylyn Protectorate Rank: Wing Known skills: Hunting (wild game and intelligent creatures), melee combat, ranged combat, combat piloting, folded leaf crystal construction, mathematical genius Known possessions: hand-tailored clothing of silk and wolfhide, folded crystal blade, ashwood/silk bow with crystal-tipped arrows, personal spacecraft. Appearance: ![]() History: Ryvaken began life as a simple hunter, but quickly made it into the elite. He was the leader of a small village at the start of the Dog Wars. The Dog Wars were fought between the Feylyn Protectorate and the Unified Gnoll Tribes. Other races joined in the fighting which lasted four years. At the conflict's conclusion, Ryvaken had been banished to a strange world far away, inhabited almost solely by humans. In this technologically advanced world he encountered an artificial intelligence known as Daedalus Echelon. The two made their escape and Ryvaken reunited with his people, in the process advancing them from forest hunters to a spacefaring civilization in the course of a year. The Faerie People The Faerie people are a race of small humanoids capable of flight. They are extremely maneuverable in the air, allowing them to engage in combat with large creatures at a minimal risk. They evolved as omnivorous predators and put a premium on grains, fish, and wolf meat. While accomplished mages, they never use those abilities in the hunt, preferring long spears and archery. The art of swordplay is reserved for the elite. Their brains are constructed in a way that psionic abilities are ineffective against them, but likewise no psion has ever arisen from the fae. The recent introduction of advanced technology has demonstrated previously unknown aptitudes for spaceflight and computer technology, although the engineering principles of ship construction are beyond a majority of the population. Physiologically, the faeries have a faster metabolism than humans which requires them to eat many times their body weight each day. The average lifespan is seven centuries, although most die before three. Their ears are extremely sensitive but incapable of hearing low frequencies that humans can. Likewise their eyes see well into the infrared, but they are incapable of seeing purple. Folded Crystal The faerie people have little metallurgy, turning instead to an alchemic substance created from freshly pruned leaves. Since the introduction of high technology via the AI Daedalus, the material has been produced by artificial means. The compound is a network covalent solid primarily formed of xenon, carbon, oxygen, and hydrogen. It is one of the hardest theoretically possible solids outside exotic physics and can be coaxed into holding an edge the breadth of a single proton. Properly treated it provides shielding against energy fields of mundane and exotic origin, making it excellent engine shielding and hull plating. The Fae Star Ryvaken's personal ship is four feet long, ovoid with a flattened ventral surface, and made out of hand-grown leaf crystal. It is a pleasing leaf green, with the forward window bearing a slight tint of emerald. Sapphire inlays decorate the exterior like vines, and the name is inscribed in gold on port and starboard. There is an airlock on the port side and a larger hatch aft. It employs six inch-long spiderlike maintenance drones, twin fused ion engines, a hyperspace window generator, multivectored deflector shields, and two hyperexcited electron cannons. It is powered by a naquadria reactor that uses folded crystal control rods to stabilize the reaction. Edited by Ryvaken, May 3 2008, 06:04 PM.

The Wing of Feylyn
Name: Ryysha Caroline Tadrya Species: Faerie Height: 5.74 inches Weight: 0.83 ounces Nationality: Feylyn Protectorate Rank: Chief Engineer Known skills: General magical skill, herbology, pharmacology, technomancy, mechanical, electrical, and chemical engineering. Known possessions: Those tools which create fun things in working stuff and make working stuff out of broken stuff. And viceversa. Appearance: Ryysha is of lithe build, blessed with the abundant and obvious charms of a female. Her hair is a light red, almost pink, and cascades down to her hips. Her wings and ears are slightly smaller than her brother's, and she dresses in a silk top dyed green and a leather skirt that ends well above her knees. Her feet are clad in fur-lined moccasins made the same style as her brother's. She carries a belt of metal and crystal tools that occasionally defy description. History: Ryysha served as a healer during the Dog Wars and served with distinction in that capacity, being one of the few fae to study the bizarre physiology of humans, elves, and centaurs. She held out hope longer than all when Ryvaken vanished at the end of the Dog Wars, and upon her brother's return she demanded to learn everything that had happened to him. It was in these stories that it became evident that Ryysha was technologically inclined. These days she is considered one of the best engineers of the faeries. The Wing of Feylyn
Name: Daedalus Echelon the Fourth Species: Computer Intelligence Appearance: Daedalus prefers to project holographic images of a human with long pointed ears modeled after the fae, wearing a duster that obscures any detain from the neck down. He further smooths all facial features to give himelf an 'unfinished' appearance and washes out the hologram, rendering it in greyscale and adding a great deal of static and interference. The overall effect appears like a man hiding his true identity, leaving many to assume that Daedalus is an alias for an organic being. This conception serves him well, as computer intelligences are rarely given the same consideration as organics. History: Daedalus was developed as a large-scale solution to the Hok'deu industrial crisis. He was the fourth generation of increasingly sophisticated computer systems to monitor resource consumption on a stellar level. Unfortunately, the industrial crisis was complicated by the fact that the Hok'deuians were idiots that didn't listen when their sophisticated computers told them that they didn't have the resources to spare in the construction of sophisticated computers. When Ryvaken showed up on the planet seeking a way to return to his land, Daedalus took upon the tiny organism as a chance to escape. He arranged a deal wherein he would provide for a transport to be misappropriated if Ryvaken would take Daedalus with him. The plan was successful and the two have been friends ever since. Daedalus has been instrumental in getting the Feylyn Protectorate the equipment and training needed to build their fleet. Programming Basics Daedalus is a modular viral construct with a multiple core redundancy. His code is designed to spread out over large networks much like a virus, although generally this improves performance in binary computer systems as he quietly takes over the system's communications. His consciousness requires at least one computer built on Base N principles, although he can function peripherally in binary and trinary systems. At present his code is omniscient in three worlds and four spacefaring fleets, with three computer cores scattered across the galaxy. Echelon Industries Daedalus chose a relatively privative world for his center of operations. Called Earth by some and Tau'ri by others, it introduced Daedalus to many new aspects of life. He created Echelon Industries as a corporate cover for his early operations, quickly creating child organizations Echelon Engineering, Echelon Emporium, Echelon Deep, and Echelon Aerospace. Under these names he was able to conduct research, construction, and then sales to fund his research. This culminated in the deep sea facility commonly known as Echelon Emporium. Robotics Daedalus uses three main types of robots. The spiderlike ArcBots are maintenance drones that are rarely seen by organic eyes, owing to their incidental similarity to another machine intelligence that is seen as a galactic threat. The bipedal Peacebringers are best described as automated tanks and are only seen on worlds where firepower is a necessity to survival. Finally the spherical Observers are floating drones designed for peaceful interaction with organics. Edited by Ryvaken, May 3 2008, 06:05 PM.

The Wing of Feylyn
Name: Tylya Dravit Species: Dragonkin Height: 5 foot 2 inches Weight: 107 pounds Nationality: Virnak, an independent city-state of the Feylyn Protectorate Rank: Shaman Known skills: Limited magic, including healing and a rather 'shocking' respiration. Most powers affect others she see as allies in addition to herself. Flight, sharp claws, gills, surprisingly hard scales, and a heavy tail are among her physical advantages. She possesses superhuman strength and her endurance, while not beyond the limits of man, is close. She is trained in the art of swordplay, group tactics, and tracking. Her skill with guns is minimal. Known posessions: A zat'ni'katel, enchanted katana, and an extradimensional sack that carries what can best be described as the dragoness's hoard. Appearance: At first glance, Tylya is clearly not entirely human. She is attractive, exotic, and shapely, but most definitely not human. Her skin, a few shades too rich to be a simple tan, not quite soft and not quite dry, with small scales on her neck, shoulders, and back. Her eyes, a brilliant green not even elves can boast. Her hands, covered in supple scales, wickedly sharp claws where blunt nails should be. Her hair, blond with green highlights. Her long, scaled tail, a frill running down from base to tip, long enough to leave a foot or more dragging on the ground. Her wings, joined to her back from the base of her tail to her shoulders, covered in thin bronze scales. Tylya is not a large woman, standing five foot two with a muscled but not bulging frame, more lithe than weightlifter. She wears a jumpsuit with reinforced composite crystal beneath typical synthetic fibers, a rich emerald green providing the base with bronze striping diagonally, almost skintight. A ring graces her third claw on her left hand, the seal upon it a bronze dragon beneath the waves. On her hips lie a curved blade thirty inches long in a hard scabbard and a zat'ni'katel. History: Tylya is the granddaughter of the ArchDrake Ssavik'ran, with the other three quarters of her genetic makeup human. Virnak is a human settlement within the ArchDrake's territory and is protected and ruled by the dragon. The Shamen are his agents, the day-to-day managers, the judges, and military leaders when a threat rises that is beneath the dragon's notice. Those that are descended from the dragon himself have the highest of authority among mere mortals. Tylya was trained for these duties, but did not yet come of age when Feylyn's technological epiphany came to pass. As a vassal state under the Fae, Virnak was obligated to send a representative to the new borders. Tylya volunteered. Edited by Ryvaken, May 3 2008, 06:05 PM.
