You know, I really want to like it, but I just don't know, you know? Oh, SPOILER warning if you haven't seen the latest episode The pace has picked up a little in the last few episodes, but when I sit down and think about it, there's just so much slippage compared to the earlier seasons. Freddie P., well, I actually don't even mind him that much. But the Dana Walsh story line? It doesn't even make sense. So she's the mole (at least the requisite CTU mole 'surprise' is out of the way now)? If so, why didn't she just call her terrorist buddies to take care of Kevin hours ago? "Yeah, Mohammed? Fake-Dana here, my cover is about to be blown, so how 'bout you kill that dude for me? Kthanxbye." Problem solved! Even worse is that with CTU being infiltrated on a regular basis, HOW can she EVER get through a thorough background check? Ridiculoso!! At least Chloe pulled a gun on someone, and the fire fight made up for some things (although not on a Heat-after-the-bank-heist level, it wasn't awfull, although I knew the moment I saw the two 'red shirts' in the back of the SUV that they were gonna die.). All in all, over half way through the season, this is the time that Jack should take over and go old school. He has to, to save the season from a slow boring death. |

Wow - even Jeffster doesn't seem to care about 24 anymore. Maybe it's a good thing that it's getting cancelled... |

actually I'm loving this season. Its returning to the roots of seasons 1-3 tensity. I gotta admit, I do hate it when terrorists or MOLES ask for immunity. Its like OK I'm caught, I did something wrong but I can get away with it by asking for immunity and by selilng others out. The beheading of President Hassan was :O. Anways most of this season is predictable, but its fun and I'm enjoying it and going along for the ride as its the last season of 24. My best years of 24 were from 1-5 and I will definitely rewatch them. 6 was lacklustre, Redemption was fun, season 7 was unrealistic and 8 has a mixture of the old seasons combined. All-in-all I enjoy it better than 6 and 7 |

Agree with you with the feel of old to this season. I was a few episodes behind, but now I'm up to episode 18, and if I'm lucky I'll get to watch it tonight. I can't believe Jack got some nookie on the show! I just knew that she'd end up dead when that happened. Jack can just never catch a break... I'm hoping that he'll go absolutely bonkers for the last 7 episodes. Torture some folks here and there, blow some shit up, the works, you know? Dana Walsh is less annoying now, maybe because she's better suited as a bad ass than as a scared little girl (she was killer on BSG). I'm not forgiving the writers for how she acted in the first half of the season yet, but they might redeem themselves if she's in deep with the former Prez or something like that. This is basically the first time I watch this show from week to week, I always waited until the end of the season and then did the marathon thing. And yeah, I'm still trying to get B to start watching it. Baby steps, but I might get her there one day... |

You will prevail! I know you will. Anyways yesterdays episode was fun and definitely had a season 5 feel. Off course its only because Taylor is practically doing what Logan did years before under his influence. Jack is gonna do things solo again with everyone on his ass. |

I have a sneaking suspicion that Dana knows more about what Logan is up to. The dude can't be trusted. He's in cahoots with the Ruskies! Yes, in cahoots! Dana was probably either contracted by Logan or directly by the Commies... Now, I'm staying away from this thread until I've seen the latest episode. Then, you'll get to make fun of me for being entirely wrong about what I wrote up there. |

This week's episode was AWESOME!! Was it completely believable? Of course not, but that's not why I watch it anyway. I absolutely loved the Logan kidnapping scene. From Jack going all Iron Man/Punisher to Logan squealing "That's Jack Bauer!!" like a terrfied little girl, it was all good. I'm not even disappointed we didn't get to see the kill-a-palooza of the Ruskies. The camera panning through that room, all the blood and bodies, and then seeing Novakovich laying there with that big poker in his gut? That made me smile. I was hoping that Bauer would go out with a bang, and he certainly seems to be doing just that. President Taylor is still being a dumb ass, though. I'm starting to wonder if there's something going on with her that will produce a giant plot twist in the finale. There's always a twist with 24, so there has to be one coming now too, right? Arlo had one of the best lines, after finding out Jack got Logan: "How in hell did he pull that off?" BECAUSE HE'S JACK BAUER, FOO! BETTA RECOGNIZE!! Can't wait for the finale, crazy shit will go down, I just know it. It has to. Like Yuri told Logan: "There's nothing’s more dangerous than a wounded animal" |

I thought it was brilliant also. Like you, I don't consider 24 to be believable at all anymore. But Jack going apeshit on Logan's secret service was awesome. From Logan's smug face to his terrified chicken shitless face when Jack approached his motorcade to him telling Novokovich that no one will give his name up to me guessing right that Logan would be the chicken shit who gives up his name to Jack cause he can't handle Jack's terror, it was all good. Obviously Taylor is far in this cover-up and now that Kyla Hassan knows, its only a matter of time before her mom finds out before she lashes out at Taylor and this peace treaty is over. Ethan was right in leaving the administration, and for every arrest/death that occcurs, that's one more person she has on her conscience. However the finale ends, it will be tragic. I can't see it being a happy ending for Jack, Chloe, or Taylor, now this finale just needs Aaron Pierce to complete his appearance in every season. But it seems he's to busy filming Transformers and all that. lol |

Hahaha, I was wondering the same thing about Pierce. But he has to show up, right?! But, if he's too busy shooting Transformers 3, maybe they can get Fox on the show, I heard she won't be in that movie! I would be OK with Jack dying at the end of the day, but if they're still planning a movie, that probably won't happen. I'm still expecting a twist with Taylor, like she wasn't trusting Logan at all or something. Some sort of twist is coming, but that's not really a prediction. It's like saying at the start of a season that there will be a mole in CTU. It's more a duh-moment than a real prediction. As long as there's more badassery from Jack, the finale should be good. On a side note, Britt finally started watching season 1!! She said it was "interesting", so we'll see if she hangs in there... I saw the pilot again myself last week, and I couldn't believe how young Kiefer looked. What 8 really stressfull days (and a few months undercover in a Mexican drug cartel and imprisonment in a Chinese torture prison) can do to a man... |

To add to that... Just talked to Britt, she saw the first five episodes already, and she has to babysit tonight, so that will turn into a few more. She's hooked! We have her! Muahahahahaaaa. Right now, she says she doesn't trust Tony... I'm trying not to give anything away about characters, because shit can change quickly from episode to episode, and season to season. But it might be time for a "Britt's 24 adventure" thread soon. |

oh men I talked to her, yes even I had my doubts for Tony when I first watched. This is when the 24 formula was still new to me. Now I think like 24 for different shows and I'm never surprised when we see a mole or a sudden change in stories with movies or TV shows that I watch. Hope she can keep me updated on her adventure and thoughts. |

A great ending to a fabulous show. Obviously, its all incredibly ridiculous, but the ending sequences were just phenomenal. The acting between the actress who plays Hassan and Cherry Jones was very real indeed. You could see the struggles she had to deal with, knowing she was screwed either way. Jack taking matters into his own hands almost made sense, as everyone at this stage was practically corrupt. Loved his conversation with Logan. The sleezeball he is, I was almost hoping Jack would put a bullet through him instead of Suvarov. But we knew Jack wouldn't do neither as long as Chloe was there. Anyways great ending as Jack is now on the run from the two most powerful nations on his back. Looks like the movie will be based on the manhunt for Jack Bauer by the US and Russian government. |

Almost three months later, and B is about to finish season 8. She only has two episodes left... Hmmm, have to think of a new show to watch then. Still have to catch up with Eureka, and Burn Notice is entertaining, too. But, The Wire is also slated to be next. Totally awesome show. |
