Part 2: Avatars Many people are somewhat (or utterly) confused when it comes to using forums —especially these ones, because the layout is a little more complicated. In these brief tutorials, I will help you to get by all that stuff easily. What's a avatar? An avatar is a small picture that will show up by your name in all of your posts and PMs. It is sort of like your "icon" or something.  Avatars are also known as "avvis." (avv•EE•s)Adding an avar At the very top of the screen (above the banner) there is a button titled "Preferences." Drag your mouse over this button. When you drag your mouse over that button, it will open a short drop-down menu. Choose "Add Avatar" from the menu. When you click this, it will bring you to the "avatars" part of your account options. There will be a browse box, some folder icons and a URL box on this page. If you want to upload your own image, you can click the "Browse..." button on the browse box. If you want to use one of the (really awesome) premade ones, you can select the folder that has the most appealing title to you. When the folder is selected, a list of images will appear—click the one that you want your avatar to be. If you have your avatar on the internet already, you can copy the direct URL and post it in the URL box on the page. —Hope this helped, and good luck! —Donut |
