From the link here On Thursday 3rd June the PlayStation 3 Bad Company 2 servers will go down for maintenance. On your side of things at around 08:00 UTC (09:00 UK, 10:00 Europe, 02:00 Pacific) you will start to see prompts to update your PS3 when you next put Battlefield: Bad Company 2 in your disc drive. The update includes the following changes: * Kit images added in spawn menu * Fixed the "required rank" field on the unlock items specified on the W&G page * Added M14, NS 2000 and G3 in-game unlock pop-up when the requirements for unlocking them are reached * Added a server side check of the veteran status of the players * Award bugfix for "Win all 4 game modes" (it had marksman headshot as a dependency) * Garand did not track anything, Thompson tracked Garand. * Increased the penalty points for TeamKill and TeamDamage * Increased the reward points for Objective Actions (Flag Cap/Assist, Arm/Disarm/Destroy/Damage/TeamDestroy/TeamDamage) * Fixed veteran rank number not showing up in ingame scoreboard * The southpaw setting now works for the anti-air gun and the Stationary AT * Collectible weapon messages fixed Now hopefully the server-side patches fix some of the lag that is still persistent. I played last night for a few matches and the lag issues were just limited to a few minor occurences. Game is running a lot better than it has been over the last few weeks. The graphics do seems better as well. Here is what was posted in a forum and some links at the bottom shows a side by side comparison. This remarkable patch released by EA/DICE on June 3rd of 2010, is a historical milestone for Battlefield: Bad Company 2. The patch changelist includes many fixes, tweaks and VIP maps are now available to everyone but the main highlights of the patch are the graphical enhancements. This is quite rare for console video games patches to enhance the graphics. The visuals enhancement are apparent in v1.03. The colors are more vibrant, textures are slightly better, better post-processing effects and the high dynamic range lighting looks much better (noticeable in Atacama Desert). Not only the graphics look significantly better but performance wise the framerate is much smoother, even in very intense action. In addition to a surprisingly pleasant non-laggy connection. That's right, lag is virtually non-existant now. What's also welcomed is the nice touch of the in-game class models images during class selection. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0mQkac7EUZI&fmt=22 http://img709.imageshack.us/img709/2967/whitepasscomparison.jpg |
