As a not frum.. I do wear jeans, especially in the colder weather. Not a big fan of being cold. However, Friday and Saturday I wear skirts now. :) But I want to know where to go, to get one that is long, but not frumpy. I have 2 denim skirts that are just blah, but are easy to wear bc I can wear warm leggings under. But I want pretty!

I think good skirts that will hold up are: eddie bauer, ll bean, lands end.

I find that eddie bauer has 'outlets' both as stores and through their website where you can get good stuff.

Old Navy has nice skirts. Their long skirts go to the calf. Target, too.

um.. I might. We just got new outlets by me.. a whole new Tanger. I think the old one (further away) has it. Do they have good stuff?

I saw a skirt I really liked at Kasper Outlet, but I didn't buy it.. no reason.. just thought I could find one I liked better, but didn't.

We also have a Talbots outlet nearby and I got a black skirt for $9.99 from $109! But I haven't been that lucky there since.

You can find cute skirts at almost any store. You just need to look for them :) .

In terms of Jones New York you will pay better prices in Macy's on a sale, than you will in the outlet.

I do look in every store for cute skirts. It's been my mission for a few years now. I tend to like denim (but not frumpy... I have 2 of those) and I adore winter weight tweedish looking skirts with some texture. Can never have enough sophisticated skirts. I just haven't found stuff that really catches my eye... and in my price range.

I was just informed that the Talbots Outlet my me has sale going on today. (extra 30-60% off) so I may swing by there and check out the skirt I found last week and see if it has been reduced any more.

I was also going to mention Talbots. And if you have one in your area - my FAVE - Coldwater Creek. They're not cheap, but their outlet stores and online outlet have some really good deals.

I got a lovely skirt. The one I wanted was only in size 16... so no luck there. I got a nice winter weight one that needs to be taken in a tiny bit, and taken up a bit. It sits in a weird spot, about 3 inches below the knee, so I'd like it taken to knee length. I tried on a bunch, all at an additional 30% off, but I didn't love anything else. I paid $35 for it, but it was originally $150. I won't take the tags off until my seamstress reviews it at my next appointment, just in case she doesn't feel it will look good once altered.
