This one looks promising, however I would have to substitute xanathan gum for something like milled flax seed. Posted Image Does anyone know of any other good recipes for wheat/barley/oat/corn/white potato free bread? |

My recipe is now perfected, but my measurements are not quite exact. 2 cups spelt flour handful of milled flax seeds 4 Tbsp of sugar (or to taste) 1/4 tsp baking soda 1/4 cup oil a squirt of lemon juice (very scientific) less than 1/4 cup of water - add slowly Mix together. If too watery, add flour. If too stiff, add water. Shape so that it's no more than 2 inches high. Spread egg on top. Sprinkle poppy or sesame seeds. Bake at 350 F for about 50 minutes. Enjoy! * this recipe makes 2 challah rolls. * Edited by conundrum1, Jun 22 2009, 11:38 AM.
