Hi, I plan to marry in Jersey sometime in August 2010, trying to get prices is proving difficult. I live in Wales but I was born in Jersey and I really want to come home to get married. So far I have called about 20 hotels and not many are calling me back... we don't want anything too fancy, just a basic ceremony (not sure whether this will be in a hotel or registery office as it all depends on price), then afterwards an informal buffet for approx 40-50 people. The only place I have prices from at present is L'Horizon, but it's way over our budget, unfortunately. Please could anyone help me and offer any suggestions/advice? Many thanks Ffion |

we had our ceremony at Elizabeth Castle and reception at Grand Jersey hotel - both superb! The Grand is very reasonable (Grand Suite is lovely function room too) so don't be fooled by the fact it is a newly refurbished very plush hotel. Only negative on the whole experience is I would advise people to have breakfast in the dining room as room service breakfast was cold with rubber eggs! Plus close your bedroom windows at night otherwise the pigeons pay you a visit! Edited by bridezilla, Sep 16 2009, 09:33 PM.
