Jessabella walked with sure steps toward the training green and considered that she was probably the strangest person within miles of the place, she was bond free and yet she was at the training green. When she had heard of the place she had avoided it and then grew more and more sure that this was the perfect place to come and train her own skills, if the people with bonded creatures didn't like her crashing their party then they could go else where ... harsh thoughts for an elf but she didn't like the though of any part of a planet belonging to a particular class of people, or entry based on certain conditions.

she huffed, human rules where not her rules.

Long arms reached above her as she stretched with slow ease, seeming quiet at home despite the fact that she was still somewhat new to the world. She had to admit that she was feeling more and more at home, each passing day was easier then the last and she didn't even know when she had finally admitted that she was stuck here and the place was now her home. A shake of her head sent her auburn hair flowing over her shoulders, her arms slowly dropping back to her sides as she continued her way to the training area. She could feel the eyes of a few people on her back as she walked, but she just ignored it and kept walking until she found a adequate spot to practice.

Her body moved as soon as she was settled, flowing in a sequence of stances with such grace that it seemed more a dance then a fighting style. One that was practiced with eyes for following such moves could tell that every pose was designed to parry attacks with ease and to keep the opponent on the balls of their feet, it was a deadly dance that seemed out of place in Isnit where the only threats where from deciding if impressing certain creatures was a good idea or not. Her movements where joined after a moment with her voice as she sang a soft song in her own language, the tempo of her song matching her movements as her arms moved independently around her lithe frame and as the tempo of the song increased so too did the speed of her movements. The woman came to a sudden end in a low crouch, her eyes closed as she felt the warmth in her muscles and the hum of the world around her, making a sound of approval and nodding her head she moved to sit on a nearby patch of grass for a short break.

The green, open space was...
Miroir searched for the word she wanted, and on failing to find it, decided to go with ‘relaxing’. It was a nice place, so... green. And open. And relaxing. Never mind that it was supposed to be for people who came with their animal friends; she just liked to lean against the wall, soak up some sunshine, and watch whatever was going on.
Sometimes, near the end of the day, when the sun was setting and no one was around, she’d run around the place and try out a few pieces of equipment for herself. The green wasn’t a gym, but it was about as close to it as she expected to find.
Her musings were interrupted at the approach of a tall, elegant lady with long and pointy ears. Miroir watched as she stretched, and then began what looked like some kind of dance. It took a few minutes before the woman realized what it reminded her of; a martial artist’s slow display of blows and counters. Though it didn’t seem quite the same as karate, this lady’s movements were just as deliberate and graceful, and really very nice to watch. Without even realizing it, she began to hum along with the performance, bouncing her head slightly to the beat.
Then, as soon as it had started, it was over. The lady rose and walked over to a grassy spot before sitting down, looking pleased with the way her practice had turned out. After a moment’s thought, Miroir decided that she seemed like a nice person, and walked over.
“That was really pretty,” she said, smiling just because, “Can everyone do that kind of thing, where you’re from?”

An open field of emerald.

She hadn't been here before and, to be honest, she had had little interest in visiting the place. Recently, though, as a new bonded entered her life, she found her trio to be in need of behavioral adjustments. Kyoto, bless him, was as well educated as one could expect, always hanging in the background until he was called on. Daiquiri would use all her charm to manipulate her into being fed just one more strawberry cupcake, even after she had her fill. One more please? So sweet! Another?

The spark shafa wasn't much of a handful but now Madi (pronounced Mee DAY), the furry ball of thoughtlessness, had integrated himself into their group. He was an attention seeker and would make it hard on Dai during mealtimes. The two had been together for less than 12 hours and already tow spats had broken out. Mr. Me! Me! Me! would steal from Ms. Food! Gimme!
That left little option than to try to mold them into model citizens.

Ha! Yeah, right. Easier said than done.

The ten year old walked across the Training Green, lost as to how to solve her problem. It was then that she caught movement from the corner of her eye. A dance, unlike anything she had seen, was performed before a small group of spectators. Fascinated. she stopped to watch, fingering the leather strap from her traveling bag. Curious indeed - the steps of fighter were there, almost as if a hunt had been turned into something less deadly and more graceful. When it finished, she expected a round of applause, but only quiet followed.
She gently nudged a pleading Madi with her toe (Up! Up now!), sending him on his back, (Mean!) and headed toward the Jessabella. (Wait! wait! ).

Ah- the woman had another admirer, it seemed. "She's right, That was good." She took a seat a bit a ways, undecided if she was allowed to join the duo.

Miroir's voice seemed to bring Jessabella out of the contemplation she was in, her head turning to cast curious green eyes over the other. Slowly she smiled and shifted to lean back on her arms as she took in the comment and then the question, her teeth trailed over her lower lip before freeing it with a chuckle "Only my people have perfected it, others have tried and have come close to the level of grace needed to perform such a style" there was nothing in her tone to suggest she looked down he nose at such people, she was merely stating a fact. It wasn't that it was for a lack of trying, she had seen other races put their whole lives into perfecting the fighting style of the elves, the simple fact was that their short lives often cut them from their prime long before they became masters ... it was sad, but that was just life.

Her long legs stretched out in front of her, her body shifting backward to lean more fully on her arms as she fully relaxed in the warm sunlight. She had to admit that for Planet it was quite a nice day, at least the nicest that she had ever experienced in her time thus far. She hoped that this was a sign of things to come, but it was hard to predict anything with the PIF, there was always something that would ruin whatever good she experienced with some kind of insanity.

"The name is Jessabella, most people prefer to call me Jess" She shifted to rest on one arm and lifted the other, brushing the grass from her palm before extending the long fingered hand toward Miroir. The smile that graced her lips never slacked for a moment and there was something about her voice that spoke of the calmness of the forests around them, though the accent she carried seemed to be shifting between her native dialect and the local one of Planet ... which was a shame really as her words sounded nicer whenever she slipped back in to that soft dialect. The arrival of the younger girl turned her attention away and she smiled, her eyes falling on the creatures that sat with the youngster. It was odd to her to see a young person on their own, but this wasn't her home planet and so this was quite a normal occurrence to come across youngsters wandering on their own in Isnit.

She waved the small group closer "Thank you, you don't have to sit over there though we don't bite" she laughed melodically after that, her eyes sparkling in good humor as her smile shifted to one of amusement that remained welcoming and warm despite the humor that it portrayed

Silly two-legged creatures. They thought themselves so superior, just because they walked upright and made silly things. The Leo was currently stretched out at the bottom of a sand-pit, his head lifted just high enough that he could see the comings and goings of the Isnitians. So far he had not been noticed -- his golden coat saw to it that he blended in rather well with the sand he laid on. It wasn't unusual for him to be right in the middle of the Weyrd Proper, inconspicuous, observant. As much as he despised these two-legged weaklings, he could not deny that he found them intriguing (in an amusing and condescending way, of course).

Startling orange eyes gazed upon the trio of humanoids before him, lips wrinkling in a sneer at the sight of the pathetic little Spark, his distaste voiced in a soft hiss that none of them were meant to hear. His tail lashed once before him before he finally rose to his feet and leaped out of the pit in one graceful movement. He strode forward, heading straight for Jessabella, something between a chuckle and a growl rumbling deep in his powerful chest.

As he walked, the Leo's frill slowly erected, until it was standing fully upright, blinding in its intensity: a deep, bright red swirled like molten lava through clouds of metallic gold and sun-set oranges. His claws left behind deep furrows in the green grass as he stalked forward, his deadly fangs flashing in a sneer of derision.

Silly human-things. Silly dances. He halted before Jessabella, sparing little more than a fleeting glance for the others. They were flies, bugs, little more than annoyances. But this woman of the strange accent and her graceful dance - she could be a threat.

He would never admit that he had found her movements enchanting. He would never tell her that her grace was worthy of a Diardi. Instead he would challenge her.

Dances well on her own. Can she dance better than a Panthera? He let out a derisive snort, eyes flaring, teeth snapping at the empty air. "I think not! Dance, little girl. Dance for the mighty Lord." With that, he leaped for her, left foreclaws slashing through the air at her face, his sharp teeth snapping viciously at her legs. Though it would look like a violent and malicious attack, he kept himself carefully in check: Leo though he was, he did not believe in senseless slaughter. If she did not move in time (though he was expecting her to respond swiftly and efficiently) he would pull back enough so that she received scratches just deep enough to draw blood, to teach a lesson. He did not mean to seriously harm her, but he meant to make this girl dance in the only way that really meant anything: he wanted her to dance for her life.

The arrival of the Panthera, a Leo no less caught her slightly by surprise as he rose from the sand of a nearby sand pit. At first she had thought that he belonged to someone in the training area but slowly it dawned on her that he was a wild creature and he was heading right toward her. Slowly she got to her feet and motioned for Mirior and the other girl to keep their distance as she didn't want either of them to get hurt, besides judging by the Leo's body posture he wanted to challenge her. But the Leo didn't give her time to ponder that thought, he was already launching himself claws first toward her and her body reacted in instinctual movement that had been perfected by years of training.

Her body turned, left foot shifting behind her and outward slightly to move her body mass quickly aside. She could feel the air ghosting over the skin of her cheek as the sandy body of the Leo barely brushed past her lithe form, he was fast and although she had seen a Panthera before she had never seen one fighting before and she hadn't expected them to be this fast. Adrenaline coursed through her body as her body continued it's spin so that she was now facing the Leo once more her auburn hair masking her narrowed eyes as she surveyed her muscular opponent.

He wanted to dance did he? she would give him a dance that was for sure. This was a chance to see just how out of practice she was after all she had heard that Panthera where among the fiercest of the creatures of Isnit, if she could hold her own against him then there was no reason for her to fear her survival on this oddest of planets. Arms moving around her body she settled herself into a ready guard, she'd let him make the first moves so that she could get a measure of his strength and speed. Only after that would she slip into offensive action, she was smarter then some people and didn't just throw herself headlong into battle when she had no clue what her foe was capable of.

"Lets see what you a capable of, hmmm" the melodic tone of her voice was thoughtful, her eyes alert to every small move that his body was to make in the coming battle and she was excited to say the least. This was possibly the most exciting thing that had happened in weeks, sure life had been a series of odd events but this certainly had to take the biscuit!.

Oh, but Jessabella had much to learn about a Panthera. She knew he was dangerous, and yet still she underestimated him -- still she assumed that he would stand back and allow her the chance to gather her wits, to sink into a defensive position, to face him again. He was a Leo, the strongest, the most vicious of all. His calm was a deceptive mask; when a Leo struck, it was a death-sentence. As she dodged away from him, she made what would have been a fatal mistake, had he been driving in for the kill. She turned her back. Even a split-second was enough. His left paw slapped back down to the ground with blinding speed, his right lashing out to slam onto the ground right in front of her left foot, close enough that he might even nick some of her toes -- it was the foot that she focused so much of her weight on. As she turned, she would find her movement suddenly inhibited by his paw and lower foreleg.

Even as he sought to upset her balance, he followed through with the attack by using that same paw to pull his body forward, driving the sharp, hard part of his shoulder blade straight into her waist. He hoped to seal her fate by using sheer brawn and strength to send her reeling through the air. The moment he felt her shift to regain her balance, his right paw would suddenly curl upwards in an attempt to sink his claws into the base of her leg, where ankle met foot -- this would ensure that she fell, if it worked. He didn't even give her the chance to stop, to turn and face him. Throughout it all he was unnervingly quiet, a silent harbinger of death, where others of his species might be spitting and snarling and hissing. He had no need to intimidate. He had no need to threaten. He was sheer power and lethality, and he knew it.

The feeling of his left paw glancing a blow against her foot sent shock waves of shock reeling through her body and a curse left her lips, even that sounded graceful flowing from her lips as she learned the hard way that turning her back on a Panthera was a very bad idea indeed. Seeking to regain her balance by changing the distribution of weight of her body she felt her breath being stolen by his shoulder blade digging into her waist and his right paw curling upwards into the base of her leg, by this point she was already falling and she pulled her leg away as soon as she felt the tips of his claws penetrating her skin. Her shoulder hit the floor first and her body followed in a roll that absorbed much of the damage the fall could have impacted upon her body, already she could feel the warmth of blood on her shin but there didn't seem much damage to the underlaying muscles.

Growling she understood that there wouldn't be time to gain his measure, no time to defend. This time she was on the attack, her steps light as she danced around him every move made was with the aim of keeping his claws at back and to keep him in front of her where she could see him. At first she didn't make a move for any particular part of his body, firstly she aimed for his hind legs, a series of blows aiming to keep his attention off the movement of her legs then she took her chance and dropped in to a swift low sweeping circular kick toward his hind feet. She understood that if she could either drop him to the floor or grapple him then she might be in with a chance, she had no doubts that this move of hers might not win as she had seen how fast he could more.

He was dangerous and she couldn't allow herself to forget that again.

Therefore she kept her body in motion, her eyes making sure to keep on his paws and trying to judge what his next move would be. She was awed by how powerful he was, how fast and also shocked that she was so out of practice. She couldn't remember the last time she had been caught off guard like that. But she didn't let the pain from her foot and leg show on her face, instead there was an air of grim determination around her to finish the fight.

Having had no dealings at all with martial arts, or anything similar, Miroir was impressed by the idea that such a thing was possible, and by more than one person. She had no illusions about trying to learn it herself; if the woman said it was only for her people, then she wasn’t about to intrude. Watching the skilled at work was just as nice.
She took the offered hand and shook it, actually flopping down onto the grass before letting go.
“My name is Miroir,” she grinned, her pleasure at meeting someone new evident, “Nice to meet you, Jess-jess!”
It didn’t occur to her that people might not like being given nicknames. She simply met the elf, heard her name, and that was what came out; very little in the way of inhibitions, in this one. She might have done the same for the young girl who came over and sat down nearby, bringing with her two absolutely adorable balls of fluffy bunny-rat-bat-ness, if it hadn’t been for the sudden appearance of... something.
Having never seen a Panthera before, Miroir wasn’t sure what to make of the creature. It appeared feline, but with four eyes and a great crest that rose as it approached. Overall, it reminded her of a lion, but one that was definitely out of someone’s worst nightmare.
And then it spoke. She might have pinched herself to make sure it wasn’t her own dreams that had created the creature, but that would have taken more thought than her actions required. Rising into a crouch at the motion from Jessabella, she was prepared enough to jump backwards when the lion-lizard leaped at them... Or more specifically, at her new friend.
She ended up quite a bit closer to the young girl and her colourful bat-bunnies. Miroir would get involved if she had to, but hopefully it wouldn’t come to that; a seasoned fighter like Jess-jess would have a much better chance of dealing with this creature.

Despite being relatively new to Planet, the girl was pleasantly surprised thus far; at home there would be little time to enjoy the sun or placidly talk with strangers. The way this world worked still caught her by surprise, when she expected to be attacked, she was aided; even when she felt like an outsider, she was welcomed. Jesabella now offered her familiar ground; she had witnessed several dance of death, each performer not only expressing their fighting skills through them but also putting in some of their soul. All had their own style, but all carried the same basic movements that were passed from one generation unto the next.

Tatsuko's eyes came alive at the half-elf's performance, betraying her yearning to learn this foreign battle style. At Jesabella's invitation, a sheepish smile spread on her face.
"Sorry. It's just that.." She pressed her lips together, feeling self-conscious. " Planet is just so peculiar...Oh! And I'm pleased to meet you both. I'm Tatsuko Aki --"

She cut herself short, catching the Panthera's movement out of the corner of her eye. In one fluid motion, she was on her feet, pushing Madi back with the heel of her boot and moving into a defensive stance. She was ready to draw blood, to join in the fray when Jesabella motioned to stay put. The feline confronted the woman. Stranger and stranger. She had thought these creatures to be almost mindlessly savage - yet here was one displaying a intelligence, cunning and an odd sense of humor.

This fight would determine who was the top warrior, and Tasuko didn't want to miss a second of it.

When Jessabella fell, all bets were off. No matter how quickly she tried to roll to her feet, the fact was that the Leo was right on top of her already, having succeeded in ramming his shoulder into and tripping her up. There was very little distance for him to close, and being a Panthera Lord he was as fast as any elf. The moment she went down, he was on her, rushing forward in a blur of motion that gave little room for thought or reaction. Even he did not think. At this point, predatory-instinct kicked in: his prey was downed, and he was going in for the kill. If anything, this made his movements even swifter: he did not have to think, or calculate. He simply reacted as nature had sculpted him to do.

When her shoulder hit the ground and she began to roll back to her feet, the Leo followed, swatting at her with a clawed forepaw the way a cat might paw at a ball of yarn. The motion, if successful, would prevent her from regaining her balance -- it would use the momentum of her roll against her, forcing her onto her back. At this point he would leap forward to stand over her, a hind- and fore-paw planted on each side of her, his powerful jaws hovering inches above her face. She might attempt to do something rash, like kick him in the stomach, but such a move would be ill-advised with his fangs so close to her head. It looked for a moment like he just might finish her off, because the look in his eyes was one of savage hunger. In that moment he was every bit the mindless, savage beast that Tatsu assumed his kind to be.

But then the eyes cleared, and some of the tension eased out of his body. Fiery orange eyes would seek to meet Jessabella's, and he would let out a derisive snort, before speaking.

Dance well. Not well enough. He paused, lifting a forepaw from the ground and extending a single claw to make a sharp slash in the air directly over her throat. Elf-girl dead. Leo better dancer. It was hard to tell -- him being a Panthera and all, and utterly wild at that, but there may have been a certain gleam of mischief and amusement to his eyes as he spoke. Other Panthera not so nice. Silly human-things so weak. I protect elf-girl, so she can learn to dance better. With that he stepped away from her and sank to his haunches, tail flicking about on the ground behind him. He still did not acknowledge the others - they were hardly worth his time, after all.

Congratulations, Jessabella! The PIF has seen fit to bless you with your very own Panthera Shiny, and a Leo at that! =D Desc is below. Don't forget to name him! PM the PIF for his color-fade HTML. Feel free to take him over from now on:

The Seasoned Warrior-Sage Leo Panthera
Though by no means old, this Leo has been around the block a few times. Experience, and spending the majority of his life in the wild has sculpted him into a seasoned warrior - one that is fit in both mind and body. He has an eye for potential, and grabs at the opportunity to pass on his knowledge to someone less experienced than he. For the most part he ignores humanoids other than his Bonded - two-leggers are frail, weak creatures, and there are very few of them that could ever have hope of defending themselves against the savage wild of Planet. His Bonded is the exception to the rule, someone he sees as having potential, despite her two legs. When the Leo does speak, he displays a sense of wit and humor that is somewhat uncanny for his species. He understands every bit of the Common language, and is perfectly capable of proper grammar. He prefers to speak in short, fractured sentences - using just enough words to get his point across.

The Leo is a rather stunning sight to behold: his coat is a light, sandy-gold in color, and when standing directly in the sun it takes on an almost metallic sheen. He is large even for his rank, his body sculpted with sleek sinew and powerful muscle. His frill, when extended, is a mix of molten-red, metallic gold, and sunset-oranges. His eyes are the burning orange of a hungry flame, and forever taking measure of the world around him.

A sound of surprise left her the instant she found him pinning her form to the ground, the swatting of his clawed forepaw pulling her balance away from her. She was winded and found herself face to face with the regal creature, her first thought was to fight back but then she considered that he had already bested her and that she should accept the face that he was much faster and stronger then her. This was what humans must feel like, she had never thought that she would feel so humbled by the feeling of helplessness that over come her in that moment as the Leo looked at her with such savage hunger and then the look in his eyes cleared and his body relaxed, her eyes watched him as his claws came close enough to her throat that she felt the air brushing against her skin.

As soon as he had stepped away she pushed herself slowly to her feet, her body aching and the pain from her wounds ebbing and flowing though she pushed it aside so that she could listen to his words. Then it dawned on her, the Panthera was bonded to her and she should probably give him a name. Licking her lower lip she searched her mind for names and then nodded her head as she reached a choice "Well Maethor, I will be happy to learn how to dance better ... I certainly need it" she wasn't sure but she was sure that she could hear the Panthera chuckling to himself at the observation, being bonded to the Leo would certainly be interesting. Flinching she shifted to limp back toward the other girls and sat back down on the spot where she had sat before, her hands removing her boot and lifting her pant leg to examine the wound. The cuts where shallow but they where still bleeding freely, ripping the hem from her pants she wrapped the wound and sat back to examine the body of her new bonded whom hadn't moved from his spot and was ignoring the girls. His sharp eyes where on her instead, roaming her body as if he where making a check list of all the things he had to do to make the elf-girl dance better.

Jessabella gave the Panthera a determined smile and went back to dressing her wound, once done she turned her face so that she could look at the two girls with a lopsided smile as if the fact that she had made her first bond and to a lord Panthera no less had finally caught up to her.

... Well, gee. That was something.
Not quite sure what to make of the scene she’d just witnessed, Miroir sat silently for a moment, so that she could absorb what had just happened. So, a big lion-lizard had come out of the sand, jumped on Jess-jess, and then they had fought. The short but fierce scuffle had ended with the elf being pinned to the ground; she’d nearly jumped up to try and help, but the big creature had stepped back, and gone to sit nearby. And there it stayed, still looking at the woman with two pairs of very sharp eyes.
Then Jessabella spoke to it, and called it Maethor. How did she know its name? Had she learned it through its mind, the way she’d heard that animals around here could communicate? Or had she picked it out herself? Maybe the name meant something in the language from where Jess-jess had come from; to her, it sounded like a mixture of ‘master’ and ‘maestro’. Pretty fitting, seeing as the creature had apparently wanted to test her fighting skills.
It didn’t bother her that the Panthera ignored her; it had come here for Jessabella, and that was where its attention stayed.
“Wow,” the woman finally said, looking from the elf to her new bonded shiny, “Is that how that works? I’m going to need to fight a lot better, if they all want to do that before making friends...”

Fade had not been the only one that had nearly jumped to the elf girl's aide. Even as she prepared to tackled the Lord, the cat seemed to make a choice that would not only affect his life, but Jessabella's as well. As everything calmed, she smiled from the side of her mouth and took a seat closer to the group. Madi had crawled up her shirt, and was starring at Maethor with wide blue eyes. Tatsuko reached up to ruffle the Shafa's head. " It seems he's speechless for one."

She lean back, resting her weight on her hands. "That was amazing; an excellent dance!" she was unaware of smiling, captivated by the fighting skills they both had shown. "Bonding with one of them must be something. And I'll too have to improve my fighting skills. I am still in training, but I have a long road to travel before I reach my uncle's level." Hey eyes shone with anticipation of the future, until she realized she'd no longer see her home, and that opportunity would forever be lost. Her smile withered slightly, and she turned her gaze to the ground as she mechanically picked at the blades of grass at her feet.

Jessabella smiled at Miroir and nodded her head at her question "Yes, all Panthera bond like this if my reading is correct" she blanched at the thought of the young girl fighting such a beast and hoped she would at least do some training before even considering such a thing, both the girls looked like they where ill prepared for such a thing, but she could be mistaken after all looks could be deceiving. The both could be stronger and better trained then she knew after all who knew what there home planets had been like, the thought of one more dangerous then hers made her swallow slightly and turn to Zade as she talked next, she was talking of an uncle and then her smile wavered.

Reaching over slowly the elvan woman rested a long fingered hand on the girl's shoulder and then feeling that wasn't enough she allowed her arm to follow, casually resting it over the girl's shoulders "I miss home too ... there was so much promise and so much to see" she frowned and thought of those things for a moment and then pushed the thought aside "but I'm sure you will do things in this world that would make your uncle proud, maybe you should continue your training" she now knew that letting her training slacken had been a bad idea, there where other shinies on planet that would not have as much mercy as what Maethor had shown her this day.

She turned to Miroir and gave her a gentle smile, her head tilting as she recalled that the girl had called her Jess-jess and she found the idea of a nickname to be quite charming and she didn't mind if she continued to use it if that made her happy.

The little girl... Tatsuko, she’d said her name was, looked sad when she mentioned her uncle; she must have liked him a lot. Miroir had no such feelings, for anyone really. There was no one at home who would miss her.
Jess-jess put her hand on the young one’s shoulder, and then gave her a bit of a hug. That was a good idea, she realized; it might make the girl feel better. She herself would have been at a loss of what to do, what with rarely having anything to do with kids.
“Yes,” she added, to agree with the elf lady, “There’s a lot to see here, like kitties with four eyes, and bunnies with wings, and pretty colours! I bet no one from anybody’s home has seen them before; you’re the first one. That’s lots of be proud about!”
Miroir sat herself down on the grass again, smiling at the thought of it all. So much to see and do... Though if she wanted to make friends with any lizard-kitties, like Jess-jess had done, she would definitely have to build up some muscles.
“You’re lots younger than us, Tassu, so you have years and years to get strong.” She laughed, and pointed at herself. “I’m gonna be old soon!”

Jessabella chuckled at Miroir said she was going to be old soon, she didn't look that old but maybe she was ancient for her kind? the elf just didn't know and it felt rude to ask about it. Shifting she smiled down at the girl hoping she would feel better soon, she herself missed her family but it surprised her that she didn't miss them as much as she missed all the familiar concepts of her home world and nothing disturbed her more then not being able to use magic anymore. She gave Miroir a playful and gentle punch in the shoulder and grinned "Hey don't sell us oldies short, we can learn new tricks yet" she looked pointedly a Maethor whom was grooming himself casually and ignoring the conversation, though the Leo would look back at Jessabella every now and then as if she would get herself into some kind of trouble.

The Panthera reminded her of the weapon master that had trained her, he had always been all disapproving stares and unreadable expressions during her teaching and she had never figured the man out. She doubted she ever would have either and she shook her head at the enigma of the man, leaning her head forward she cast a glance over Tatsuko's features to check on how she was doing.

She allowed herself to be hugged. The feeling felt alien to her; her uncle, while caring, had never been one to show signs of affection. Their bond came from fighting, from the trust they had on one another to get them through a battle; they knew each other’s rhythms and strengths, as well as their weaknesses. Her uncle had been their leader, the one that held everyone together, the one they all looked up to. And now they were gone. Her sleeve came up to wipe away at her eyes and she lifted her head, a sad smile on her face. “Yeah, there is so much to see here.” , she whispered. ”But I doubt I could ever continue my training…, she shook her head, "Not without anyone to teach me, anyways. Her family was gone; she had finally accepted the fact. Her life as she knew it was no more; there was no war to fight here, no bloodthirsty enemy that hunted children at night. She had being in denial long enough, hoping and searching for a way back to her siblings and cousins. She kept smiling, lest she break up in tears. “Weeping does no good, especially in the face of danger.” her master’s words hummed in her head. Straightening, she let go off the grass, allowing the blades of grass to float away, carried off by the breeze.

She snorted a laugh “You aren’t old”. She paused, thinking it over. ”Or, at least, I don’t think you are.” This was a lesson she had been taught by Planet; things weren’t always what they appeared. The Leo caught her eye and the last teardrop slid down her cheek as the pain finally began to wash away. Even if she’d never go back to Theris again, she found she couldn’t give up on her passion. Fighting was part of whom she was, she couldn’t give that up. She had a new way of life, but she refused to stop being a student of the martial arts. "Besides, everyone can learn new tricks, no matter their age. Only the dead gain no knowledge.” She just had to find a Master

Pretending to flail about after being punched, Miroir started laughing again.
“Well, that’s true. You’re never too old!”
She was glad to see that the girl was at least feeling a little better. Tears weren’t a bad thing; they would help you let out some of your emotions, if nothing else. She would have offered Tatsuko a handkerchief or something, except the only thing she had in her pockets was that set of useless keys.
Back to the topic at hand, the woman really didn’t know how old she was; she’d lost track of time back in the hell-hole, as she fondly referred to it. If she’d had to guess, Miroir would have put herself somewhere in her late twenties, though in reality it was overestimating by a few years.
Rough living took its toll, but hey, she was here now, and seeing as she wasn’t dead yet, that was a good enough reason to learn.
“I bet you could find someone to teach you things, even if it’s not quite the same as you did before,” Miroir put the idea out there, almost thinking out loud. “There are people here from so many places; I’m sure something they’ve learned would be like what you know.”

Jessabella chuckled as Tatsuko said she wasn't old, the elf gave her an enigmatic smile but didn't elaborate on the matter. She wondered what the pair knew about elves but didn't ask as she couldn't think of a way to do so, instead she gave Tatsuko a pat on the back and nodded her head firmly "Well I could try teaching you a few things" she didn't know if she would be taken up on the offer but it was the polite thing to do at this point, maybe it would make the youngster feel better? she wasn't sure and just had to hope that it would bring a smile back to her face.

Turning back to Miroir she grinned finding that she liked the girl, she was all smiled and saw the bright side of things. There was a zest for life and learning there that hadn't been seemingly hampered by the transition to Planet, Jessabella wasn't sure what to make of the fact that she hadn't met anyone else with this kind of attitude before and she wasn't sure what to make of a person like that. It was a good thing to see though, it gave her confidence for the future after all Miroir was happy here and in time Jessabella knew that she too would find her place in this odd world.

Of course she had Maethor now and that just made things a little bit easier and more interesting.
