(( Link to Original is here: Can't Get Away Original Post Count: 24 Private Continuation between Alice and I.)) ~*~ Alice's shout sounded like it was being drowned out by rain. It had been a long time since Kallile had taken a blow of any magnitude to the head--she forgot just how badly it could affect you if you didn't have it carefully planned and positioned. It wouldn't have mattered if she hadn't sounded drowned out--Kallile wasn't quick enough to meet the spring of the cat. And as she stumbled a few steps forward--Panthera attached to her back while releasing an angry roar from her throat--Kallile found that that terrified her. She'd spent the last eight years fending for herself and no one else. She'd never entered any fight as a 'tag-team' sort of battle. She'd never had anyone looking even remotely to her for their well-being. Now her eyes were fixed on Alice as she ignored the claws slowly digging their way into her shoulders and back and realized that everything about the relationship with this child was terrifying her. She cared--to the point that she was getting her ass kicked. By a frilled cat. "Just worry about yourself! You've got this, I know you do!" Kallile growled as she reached back behind her and grabbed at the frill on the Panthera s head. She felt the cold sting of metal and wrapped her fingers around it. Then she tugged. The sound that the Pumal emitted at the sensation of having one of her carefully placed gems ripped from the soft and colorful webbing was monstrous and untamed. It would have put warring male lions to shame and made grizzly bears cower in As if it were no more than a cub. Kallile didn't take the time to look at what it was that had been pulled from the cat--she whirled and shook the pain-stricken beast from her back. Both landed rather unceremoniously on their hips as they supported their torsos with strong upper arms. Silver eyes met neon green and purple and they stared. blood had been drawn for blood. The Pumal snorted as she raised her lips in an agony-ridden snarl. Oh, her frill. And her jewelry! She'd nearly gotten stabbed over that particular piece. Want back trinket. Keep only one thing this fight. Not be jewelry. Kallile's eyes narrowed. "You want it back? I don't think so--you give me something in return and then we'll talk about your precious 'trinket'. I'm not handing over something to someone trying to kill me." The Pumal rumbled before standing to pace. two steps left, two steps right. Repeat. Her eyes roamed from the ground to Kallile to Alice and the Aurata just beyond them. Give fair fight. Go blow for blow. See where go from there. Agreed? "Agreed" {Post #25} |

Alice was shaking, eyes darting between her fight and Kallile’s, leg happily bleeding away. When she caught sight of all that... red.. leaking from her. “A-ah...” She felt suddenly sick and shaky. Oh gawd... She was going to die. She was going to die again but this was going to be so much slower. The pain she knew she was suppose to be feeling was dull, throbbing someplace in the back of her mind as she mechanically turned back to the aurata. The panther had managed to beat off Roraldi who was laying on his back, one arm awkwardly placed beneath him, unable to get up. The aurata pawed once at her nose, which looked like it might be broken as she paced towards Alice, anger glinting in those hot pink eyes. The hissing from Zed was small and pathetic but it brought Alice back to reality with a quick blink of her too-sharp-green eyes. “You said. One hit. I got you, I kicked your face. I win, you... You leave me alone I WON our bet.” Alice said, her breathing was quick and shallow, filled with fear but her voice was filled with a defensive, false anger, “LEAVE ME ALONE!” The aurata stopped dead, in the background struggling to get up, hissing and snapping his jaws towards the panthera who was purely, and simply, ignoring the ruckus. One ear was cocked towards the wyvern, the other towards the human cub; the goat, er “kid”. ”... Human cub is right. Deal is deal. She is cat of word.” And just like that the big cat sat, tail twitching curiously back and forth, watching to see what the child would do. Alice blinked at the cat, Zed did too, both looking completely flabbergasted. Next to the word in the dictionary was Alice’s picture at just that moment. Bu this time the wyvern was getting up and about to lunge at the cat but stopped at a gesture from Alice. “She’s done. We have to help Kallile, Roraldi!” Alice was trying to get up. Nothing broken but her leg... Her leg, now that she was out of danger, was screaming bloody mary. But turning to Kallile’s fight they seemed to have come to some sort of agreement as she had with the aurata. “Kallile... Can we... Can we help? I think the pink one is done... I mean... maybe...” She nervously looked back to the cat. Was it a trustworthy creature? Was it really a cat of her word? Apparently so, still sitting there, eyes never leaving Alice. It gave her the creeps. (( HAPPY FREAKIN' BIRTHDAY! You old fart! -ruffles face- <333333 )) Edited by Alice Gray, May 15 2010, 09:14 AM.

There was no time to think of what was happening between Alice and the Aurata as they came to some strange truce of sorts. Instead Kallile began walking a slow and sideways circle--one which the Pumal responded to with an amused rumble and a feline grin before she did the same. The werewolf heard Alice but did not look at the girl to acknowledge her. This was down to a fair fight...'fair' being a term yet to be defined. "I...don't know yet. I've never actually had to fight one of these for real before." It was the truth--Naitouc had been handed over to her by his own kin and made to bond. Of course, the lesser Lord took great pride in the fact that it had, in fact, taken eight of his peers to bring him to submission. Eight death-cats. He held that over his forced-Bond's head daily...or whenever he elected it an opportune time to drop in on Kallile. The others had found her or come from the Stalls. But this...this was a whole new field. Enough talk. Time finish! Without further warning the Pumal leapt low to the ground--intent on taking the woman's feet out from under her. With a small yelled yelp, Kallile leapt into the air as if a spider had just crawled over her boot and landed. Squarely on top of the Pumal. The plum and silver cat hissed and flailed--sinking sharp claws into Kallile's leg as she finally found purchase. It was, after all, her turn to make a move. As Kallile let out an angery scream and dropped down to punch at the cat's gut, the Pumal looked to her kinship sister with almost hateful eyes. No fight? Where pride? She snarled. |

Alice backed away from Kallile’s fight, Roraldi standing close, his attention moving rhythmically between the two death cats here. “Just tell me if it goes to far... I mean...” She didn’t know what to do, stifling a scream as she backed away from their fight. No point in getting tangled up in that. If Kallile got too hurt she’d send Roraldi in. Hopefully the panthera would give it up before it came to that. If Kallile lost then that panther would come after her. ”I a cat of word. Made a bet and lost. You made bet too.” The aurata tried to imbue a sense of pride in her words, but her frill was down and she wasn’t looking to the pumal. Bested by a tiny cub. One who panicked when she saw blood. Pathetic. “Eh...” Now away from Kallile’s fight she turned her attention to her ankle which was bleeding freely. She shivered, looking sick to her stomach. Other peoples blood she could handle. Her own? Different story completely. She was still bleeding and it was... so gross. “Okay...” She grabbed her bag, removing her knife and what she had in the way of a first aid kit, strips of cloth. It would have to do as she started to wrap the wound. She was putting so much of her attention into this, she didn’t notice the aurata approaching until Roraldi hissed at the big cat. “What do you want?”Alice hissed, “Just, go away. I won, you lost, go away.” The aurata just laughed, tongue running over her nose. Yup, broken. ”Not part of deal, go away. Just life or death. She can sit here, unless kid want to fight about?” She offered up a fanged smile to which Alice glared. “Whatever,” Alice huffed, scooting away from the cat, Roraldi wiggling until he was pressed in between the two as an acting body guard. Cat and wyvern shared a lengthy starring contest before the aurata turned her head and got up, walking around Roraldi. ”So, broguth by wolf to here. Why not fight her?” “What? No you’re... She didn’t kidnap me. She’s my friend. What the heck do you mean by wolf?” Alice frowned, all on edge now. Sneaky aurata. Zed sat on her shoulder, glaring angrily. ”Hmm?” So she didn’t know? Well she wouldn’t ruin it for her. Actually she’d like to see just how she found out, ”She fight like wolf, like wild animal. Strong and not afraid. Maybe cub will be the same.” “It’s Alice...” Another cattish laugh, ”Alice... Strange. That your name? I have no name.” Being brushed off was not something Roraldi enjoyed, so he got up, walking around to crouch next to the death cat, glaring angrily at her still. Alice might be cozying up to her, but Roraldi wasn’t having any of it, and neither was Zed. (( Fail. Dx> )) |
