((Look at my second post for more info~))

The ocean. It was fascinating, yet somehow, even if only slightly, frightening. With a sigh, Katzbalger trudged along the beach, just along the edge of the water, getting her feet slightly wet. All this was still so very novel to her, even though it's already been about two weeks since her arrival here on Planet. But, then again, this is all so very new to her. Having spent all her life so far in the caves back on her planet, she did feel a bit agoraphobic having so much space around her. Which was exactly the reason why she was out here, since it wouldn't be very useful to constantly feel uncomfortable if this was going to be her home form now on.

On the other hand, this was a great opportunity to further increase her knowledge, a possibility to fulfill her calling even here, in this strange new world. There were people from literally everywhere one could possibly imagine, and also places impossible to imagine, at least with her current level of knowledge. While having all those stars overhead in the nightly sky still felt rather awkward, it was at least preferable to the blinding brightness of the sunlight. No use denying it, she missed the caves.

As she was dragging her feet through the sand, thinking about the cool and dark caves of Hellias, not really paying any attention to her surroundings, the air was suddenly filled with music and light. Just a few steps the ocean, the water was bubbling, each and every of these bubbles glowing with an unearthly light and emitting a xylophone-like sound as they burst. As she was intently watching this strange spectacle, something emerged from the sea.

Right in front of Katzbalger's incredulous eyes, a rock just rose from the waves. But that wasn't even the most incredible part, no. This rock looked very smooth, with a surface not jagged and rough, like one might expect from a rock, but smooth, bright and lustrous. It looked almost like it was made entirely from polished corals. And it looked like there were object lying on top of it. Her curiosity got the better of her, and she quickly slipped off her leather sandals, not wanting to completely drench them, and carefully waded through the water.

She had been right, on the rock did indeed lie a couple of objects. A huge assortment of jewellery, made completely from corals, was lying in a mound on the rock. Everything, from necklaces to arm bangles and bracelets, rings, earrings, anklets and more, crafted in countless different styles, all made from corals, and faintly glowing, much like the rock itself. One particular necklace caught her eye, and she quickly snatched it from all the other pieces of jewellery and put it on, not really thinking about what she was doing. As soon as she had fastened the clasp at the back of her neck, a tornado of colors engulfed Katz, forcing her to close her eyes.

When she opened them again, her surprise was even bigger than when she had arrived on Planet, for now she was apparently underwater! Wherever she looked, there were corals in manifold colors and shapes, all of them apparently bioluminescent. Staring at everything, she turned in a slow circle and noticed something approaching, which turned out to be an anglerfish bigger than herself, and it was wearing glasses? "Greetings, traveller. We have been awaiting your arrival. Would you mind telling me where the remaining members of your party are? For we cannot depart until everyone has arrived."

"There's just me. What do you want?" were the only things Katz managed to get out, after hearing toothy over there talk -talk, under water, but me too! And I'm able to breathe?- to her. The huge fish seemed to sigh inwardly and started to speak once more. "Are you not wearing one of the enchanted corals? That is the sign that you have been chosen. After all, for as long as you are wearing this you, too, are a creature of the sea. But there will be more, and we shall wait, for it is my role to be the guide for the chosen ones."

After hearing the anglerfish's explanation, Katz examined herself and noticed that there was webbing between her fingers, as well as gills on the side of her neck. Also, her feet didn't really look like her's anymore, rather they resembled a frog's and her whole skin was covered in tiny scales. Furthermore, some sort of membrane seemed to cover her eyes as well. Now she only hoped that whoever these others were going to be, that they would arrive soon. There just was something about the anglerfish, maybe his teeth, maybe his size and his teeth, or maybe all of that and the fact that he was wearing glasses, that was making it uncomfortable for her to be around him.

[ Hope I did this right. o_O; ]

The ocean fascinated Seelie. She'd come to love sitting at the top of some massive dune and staring out across the vast expanse of sparkling blue. The ocean made her feel even smaller than she was, but it did not make her feel insignificant, as it did many others. Rather, it gave her comfort to know that the world around her was so vast. It meant that this wasn't the end of the rope, that there was always somewhere else. The waning day found the child sitting cross-legged on one such dune, her hands braced on the sand behind her, head tilted slightly to one side as she contemplated the great ocean. She watched as the sky gradually darkened and stars began to wink to life, and the moon, pregnant with silver light, cast a wavering reflection off of the surface of the great water. It seemed to Seelie that great, hulking shadows moved just below the surface, and every once in a while she thought she saw a head or a fin break into the open air in the distance. It wasn't long before the girl was lulled into a half-waking state by the constant roar of the tide, and the tangy scent of seawater. She might very well have fallen asleep on that dune, had it not been for the lights and the music.

Her eyes snapped wide open, and the girl leaped to her feet as strange lights began to dance and shimmer off to the east of her. She squinted in that direction, wondering if the music she heard was real or a lingering remnant of the sleep-visions that had been playing across her eyes. She found herself drawn towards the source of that light and music, and didn't really stop to think about what she was doing. She narrowed her eyes, catching sight of a distant shadow moving towards the lights, and then vanishing. The girl broke into a run, feeling strangely anxious to reach those lights.

When she arrived, it was to see that a large, smooth rock had emerged from the waves, and upon its polished surface were dozens of beautiful pieces of jewelry. Seelie gasped and moved into the water, one hand passing through the air just above the exquisite trinkets without actually touching them. Then something caught her eye -- an anklet made of little white squares of shells strung together, with strange, midnight-blue, gem-like rocks dangling at regular intervals. Her first thought was that the piece was perfect for Valerio - the white shells would stand out in bold contrast to his fur, while the gems would compliment his eyes. Without really thinking about where the jewelry had come from, she slipped the bracelet onto her arm for safe-keeping.

Colors, everywhere. Exploding in her mind like brilliant fireworks, tearing a gasp from her lips. They were so beautiful! She'd never known that such colors existed. She reached out, hoping to somehow capture them in her fingers and keep them with her forever, but then --

floating. She was floating, suspended, and her world had become surreal. Her ears felt strangely muted, as though she was submerged in water --

oh, wait. That's because she was submerged in water. Not too far ahead of her was a strangely shaped figure - humanlike, but not? And before the figure was a giant fish with wicked-looking teeth, but it was wearing...spectacles? Utterly bewildered, Seelie swam forward, completely forgetting that she didn't really know how to swim, except for in shallow water. She came to a halt just behind and off to Katzbalger's left, blinking eyes that had gone silver and pupil-less as the fish-girl. Abruptly, Seelie decided she must be having a very intense night-vision. Yes, that had to be it! She'd never really woken up! Laughter spilled suddenly from her lips, creating little air bubbles all around her head.

"What a night-vision this is!" She laughed again, whirling in a circle and suddenly realizing that she felt different. She looked down to see that her dark skin had taken on the same silver sheen as her eyes, it was covered in tiny little luminescent scales, and her feet had become flippers! "I've always wondered what it's like to be a fish!" Giggling, she twirled and spun about in crazy but graceful loops in the water, delighted with her "night-vision."

"Hurry up, slow-poke Sally! Do you mind if I call you Sally? Hmm...Sal, Sally, Sal-Sally...We'll work on nicknames later. Right now, there is treasure to be had!"

Somehow, Theo had managed to get it into her head that there was buried treasure on Planet. "Hey, there's a beach!" she had said. "That means it's kind of like a big island...which means pirates!" Her logic was flawless. To make things even better, finding buried treasure was undoubtedly one of the easiest, safest methods of gaining fame and fortune almost instantly. Sure, there was the matter of curses and legions of the undead rising up to protect their possessions, but Theo tended to overlook such minor details. Naturally, she had dragged her "bodyguard" along to protect her while she searched. And by 'protect her,' she meant 'do most of the hard work.'

Then again, maybe there wasn't any hard work to do. It seemed as though the 'pirates' who had buried the treasure tended to overlook insignificant details, as well - specifically, the 'buried' part of 'buried treasure.' For there, right before her eyes, was a collection of jewels simply laying atop an unusually smooth rock. Jackpot! she thought. Turning back to her lagging companion, she shouted, "Salimity, look! It's just - just laying there! Ours for the taking! Come and help me carry it all!" Laughing with exhilaration, Theo sprinted towards the rock, slipping and scrambling as she climbed up to the pile of jewelry atop it. Unfortunately, the girl had only just jammed an ornate hairpin into one of her messy pigtails when she was struck with a wave of dizziness which forced her to squeeze her eyes shut and clasp her arms about her head.

When she felt well enough to open her eyes again, she had to wonder if she had passed out. A swift pinch to her arm dismissed the notion. Wait a minute - was that even her arm? It seemed to be covered in something shimmery and slightly sticky. And that definitely wasn't her hand. The fingers were unnaturally long, not to mention the thick membrane between them. But it had to belong to her, for there was no mistaking the tangle of hair she could see floating in the corner of her eye. Floating...

HOLY CRAP I'M DROWNING, her thoughts practically screamed. Theo thrashed about frantically, choking and spluttering as she tried to hold her breath. And then it occurred to her - Wait a minute, I was having no trouble breathing a moment ago... Yes, there they were: gills protruding from the sides of her neck, right beneath her...ear flaps? Well, this was just great. Instead of being famous for finding heaps of treasure when she got back, she'd be famous for turning into some kind of mutant sea lion/frog hybrid. If she ever did get back, that is. It seemed her new feet weren't quite feet at all - she had no ankles; only flipper-like appendages sprouting straight down from her calves. It would be impossible to stand on them. Well, girly, if the PIF has decided to stick you down here forever, might as well take a look around, she told herself.

And that was when she truly saw where she was - it seemed almost like a city of coral in every color imaginable (and several she didn't even know it was possible to see). "Whoah...Sal has GOT to see this!" It appeared as though she wasn't alone in this underwater paradise, either - ahead of here there were two vaguely familiar-looking Isnitians who seemed to be suffering from a similar affliction she was and - was that fish wearing glasses? Yes, yes it was most definitely a bespectacled fish! Theo swam nearer to the people (and fish), slightly awkwardly at first, though she adapted to her new limbs surprisingly quickly.

"Hi there!" she sang out cheerily. "Don't suppose any of you lot know where we've managed to end up, do you? Or how I've managed to suddenly turn into - into this? Or - oh! Sal! Have any of you seen my bodyguard? Slightly taller than me, all scowl-y and whatnot - ring any bells? My name's Theo, by the way. Theodosia Sharpe. Why does that fish have glasses?"

'Slow poke? I'm carrying the gear!' Sal hefted the bag onto her shoulder and readjusted it. She had picked up a new sword once in town, not too shabby, but it had been one of the only things she could afford to steal. Anything more valuable and it would have been noticed missing from the stock. How one goes about stealing a sword in the first place is very tricky business indeed. Too bad this planet didn't have blasters to nick as well, though Sal was a poor shot when compared to her brethren.

Theo was running very far ahead, just asking for something to come out of the surf and eat her, blabbering about Salimity's name when her tone changed from rambling nonsense to too-excited-to-be-a-good-thing. Sal picked up her pace, then watched on in horror as Theo ran into the surf, pointing excitedly to a rock that was jutting out of the surf.

She was running, which is a task and a half when one is in sand Sal noted, when she saw Theo topple backwards into the water, motionless. 'Oh, Fier'fek! I don't know how to swim,' the mental thought ripped through Sal's mind and she froze, feet from the water's edge. Well, the rock didn't look that deep into the surf.

Somewhat begrudgingly, Sal carefully placed the packs and her vibroblade into the sand. The components of the blade couldn't get wet, or else she would have gotten electrocuted. Or maybe not. It wasn't a theory she was willing to test.

Rolling up her pants, taking her merry old time, Sal also threw off her button up blouse and placed it on the pack. She was stripped down into her bra battle armor, and this last shred of Mandalorian culture gave her hope that she would somehow learn to swim and resuscitate someone in less than a minute.

She broke off into the water, holding in a shout as the cold water lapped and enveloped her legs, and she quickly reached the area where Theo had fallen under. The girl was no where to be seen. Sal wasted another precious second debating on the next course of action. It would look bad if she was already seen as an outlaw in the town if she didn't come back with Theo - if anyone cared at all.

Which raised the counterargument that Sal didn't care about this girl. She was too hyper, too self-unaware, and too under prepared for any so called 'adventure'.

And yet, Sal had a soul, so she scrambled up the rock in order to get a better view. Maybe the girl had come to and was thrashing about somewhere close by, but there was nothing. Sal dropped to all fours and leaned forward, trying to peer into the frothy foam of waves that were throwing themselves up against the rock.

It was by mere fate alone that her hand slipped, and a carefully placed, upturned ring slid snugly up along her finger. Sal was surprised for only an instant, for that was all she was allowed before she blanked out, her head overcome with fog.

And when she came to she knew she was either near death, or something was very, very wrong. For one, she was seeing what she smelled, and feeling different entities about her. Sal let her body drift for a second before she saw Theo swimming away, talking. And she looked very odd, if not a bit blurry.

Sal did a small 360 turn, then a larger one, getting the feel of whatever had just happened and started after the dikutla girl. Whoever was to blame for this mess, Jedi, the Force, the PIF, or just some other force, Sal didn't care. She only saw Theo as her reason for being in this mess.

But if Sal had gotten a glimpse of herself maybe she wouldn't have been so keen to jump down the now frog fish girl's gills. Sal's eyes had change slightly, becoming larger and darker, while she had a sharper and wider bite. The facial effect was creepy, to say in the least, but a small feathery dorsal fin jutted out from between her shoulder blades, while she still wore her battle armor, and her skin was a pale, shimmery gray. The biggest change, aside from the sharp rows of teeth, were her legs.

They had been transformed into a single powerful lateral tail that streamlined her as she took off after Theo, moving back and forth in swift movements. The fins were also feathered, like that of an ancient firaxin shark, and trailed after her in a hue of glittering grays and pinks.

Sal pulled to a short stop, but instantly felt like moving again, the feeling manifesting itself into an almost state of suffocation. "Have any of you seen my bodyguard? Slightly taller than me, all scowly and whatnot - ring any bells?"

She let Theo blather for a moment more, then growled, the sound rumbling from her chest. Scowly? She would show her 'scowly' all right. "Theo," Salimity rumbled, her teeth gnashing, "when we get out of this I'm firing myself. Then I'm going to kill you."

Sal didn't even feel like addressing the other people, or the fish for that matter. She didn't care. Talking to people and sticking her nose (snout now) into other persons business had turned her into a water breather, into aiwha-bait, and she would (rudely) ignore these persons (and fish) now.

---

OOC: Sorry for the use of parentheses. I have a habit of using them, and I can't bring myself to delete these four or so. Also, a beastly post, so I don't feel bad if you don't read it. Hope I did this right as well. ^_^ I love the Sal/Theo relationship. XD

She’d be a liar if she said that she didn’t miss the wilderness. That she didn’t miss the fresh air, the breezes, the uninterrupted sky - whether it be blue, or cloudy, or entirely too bright to see into. The fact of the matter was that she could look up to the sky and see nothing but sky. There were no buildings, no smog, and no walls. It was pure, unadulterated nature. Aurélie reveled in it.

One could suppose that she could have remained at the town. The town itself, a small blip on the map of the metropolis that Aurélie was from, was a far cry from being polluted or urban in any way. But, like almost all things, Aurélie had to have everything the way she wanted it and she wanted the ocean. She had never seen the ocean before being dumped in front of it by the mysterious force that became not-so-affectionately known as the PIF, and would like to take the time to return to it.

So she did. She halted her jobless days, her broke wandering, and her attempts at figuring out what to do with a life that she wasn’t handed money or other material possessions and walked to the ocean. Nothing better to do, right? Thus, after a him and a haw she sighed softly and made the trek to the sea where she was, well, founded. Birthed? Transported? Whatever it was, she returned to her ‘homeland.’

What was different was the fact that instead of being nothing but a boy, a girl, and a vast deserted expanse of rock and sand and sea, there was a boulder in the middle of the shallows that was covered in something shining and glittery. Aurélie, for one, was not someone to pass up something shining and glittering, especially if it was free (which in this instance, it was one of the few free things she had managed to get her manicured claws on). With a smirk and a twinkle in her eye, she carefully unlaced her shoes and pulled off her stockings. She set down her belongings gently, lining them all up on the side of the beach, far out of the reach of the surf. After all these precautions, she set a steely glare upon her face and hiked up her skirts before stepping into the frigid water with nary a grimace.

She reached the rock and surveyed her bounty, several items catching her eye. These would all look lovely upon me, she thought, immediately after thinking of her desperation for monies - for the first time in her life. One of her best gifts was the art of convincing and manipulation… Perhaps she could sell them. With a slight frown, she decided on this and started to grab them all in a sweeping motion to scoop them into her safe, dry pocket but stopped. Maybe I could keep just one, she thought even more selfishly than she was already being, Just one ring can’t make too much of a profit. Besides, look at all the other stuff I have.

She stopped her motion and left the items on the ethereal rock, and grabbed the item that caught her eye. She looked at it curiously for a moment, admiring its glossy polished shine of the coral set in the varnished gold, accented by brilliant diamonds that were inset all among the band and setting. The thing was as big as half her finger, it had to be! With glee, she slipped it on her finger and it fit perfectly. Famous last words, these were, for in that moment she was engulfed in a myriad of colors. Blinded by the light, she shut her eyes and raised her arm.

In the next second, though, she felt different. Floating. Cautiously opening her eyes, she peered at the ring to make sure it was still there - and found nothing wrong with her hands. She looked around, feeling her long blonde hair floating about her in the water. With a sigh, she resigned her life to the PIF. It had only been two days and she had already come to terms with the oddities that this planet brought, and thus had no other choice but to use her tail and follow the crowd, for at this point in time, Aurélie was transformed into a mermaid. How fitting.

Coming upon the others, she looked upon them with a faint bored expression - as if she had seen it all before. She was clearly getting sick and tired of the tricks this planet was pulling on her. All she wanted was her leadership back, honestly. Was it too much to ask? With a slight sigh, she nodded to all of the others, remembering seeing Salimity from the day she was PIF’d. What a first impression. ”Hey, all, I’m Aurélie. I suppose you all put on a piece of jewelry, too?”

With something astonishingly similar to a small cough, which was rather unusual, considering that he was a fish and all, the anglerfish started to talk once more. "Very well now. Since all of the members have finally gathered, I shall explain your situation once more." He paused, as if to increase the excitement, before he continued. "All of you are here for a reason. You have been chosen, by his majesty, the ruler of this Kingdom, air breathers. And yes", he looked at Aurélie now, the pieces of jewellery you each took have brought you here, changing your form to that of a sea creature for as long as you are wearing it. The corals were enchanted."

After a long pause of nothing being said by anyone, he spoke up once more. "I know it is not my place to interrupt, as I do not know of your air-breather traditions, but I suggest every one of you introduces herself. It should make things a little easier, as most of you people don't seem to already be acquainted." After he was silent yet again, Katz took it as her cue to speak up, so far having only heard Aurélie's name. Her eyes swept over the others, stopping at a particular form. A frown appeared on her face as she recalled that one of the newcomers had asked about a 'Sal'. Could it be?

"Salimity? Is that you? You look different. Very different." Only murmuring to herself, she added that everyone looked different, even for Isnit standards, obviously due to the enchanted jewellery. If Salimity, well, probably Salimity, looked so different, it would be no different with herself, after all she couldn't really see what she looked like. "It's Katz, we met in the forest!" Her eyes then swept to the girl who had arrived just after she did, and had mentioned a night vision. Did she think this was all a dream? Was it even possible that all this was just a dream? -I don't think it's very likely, but I could be wrong. Maybe it's a collective dream-sequence, even though I never noticed the machinery necessary for that around.-

Thinking that it was better not to say anything about whether this was a dream or not, as she really didn't know, she started once again. "My name is Katzbalger. Nice to meet you all." She had never been big on introductions.

As everyone was exchanging introductions, the anglerfish told them in a solemn voice to follow him as soon as they were done, slowly swimming ahead through the garden of corals, his light like a lantern between all the other lights.

((So yeah, this is just so everyone can introduce themselves (again, in some cases). Nothing big happening (yet). After this, things'll get moving soon~ Look forward to it :3
I know it's boring so far, please bear with it >_<))

The ocean drew her to it with it's song, the crashing of the waves seeming to set her heart pounding louder and louder the closer she got. The she saw it, at first there was little to see and then there it was a grand expanse of pure azure water for as far as the eye could see. She had seen similar sights but every time she saw the ocean it awed her and left her too stunned for words, swaying on her feet the elf slowly made her way down the beach her body moving perfectly in time with each pounding wave as if she was hypnotized by the sheer power of it ... then something caught her attention from the corner of her eye, turning her head she glanced down in surprise at the stash of jewelery laid on a nearby rock jutting from the surf.

She frowned slightly and turned her head first one way then to the next in search of the owner of the items, there was no one in sight which only baffled her all the more. Lowering with grace to one knee to get a closer look, her fingers reaching out to pick up the item on the top of the pile and turned the tiara back and forth in the palms of her hand. Stealing a glance again behind her she smiled somewhat warily and slowly guided the item over her brow, but no sooner then it had happened she regretted it. The world swayed and shifted around her in a dizzying combination of light and sensations, then slowly things came into stark relief around her and her mind screamed at the impossibility of the situation she was now in.

Jessabella found herself underwater with a small group of other people, instead of worrying about how she was breathing and how she had come to be underwater she became more shocked by the sight of the spectacled fish and not only was he wearing the said spectacles but he was talking, was there no end to the insanity of this occurrence? This had to be a hallucination, yes that was it, she had become enthralled by the ocean and was probably lolling around like a nutter on the sand while her mind was stuck in this world of talking fish. Then another thing dawned on her, her body felt different and while there was no mirror to check what she now looked like she could guess just by looking at her webbed fingers. This sent a wave of panic through her that only got worse when she discovered her boots where missing and her feet where webbed too.

okay breathe, breathe ... she just had to keep breathing though the process of breathing using gills was one that took a lot of thought to control. Slowly and surely she managed to control herself and decided that if she was hallucinating then she might as well go along with it, there was little she could do until she came round out of the insanity. Jessabella came to this revelation just as the spectacled fish told them of the summons from the ruler of the ocean and that they should introduce themselves, looking away from the fish for the first time she looked to the other members of the group ... a couple where familiar but their names escaped her at the moment so she just smiled softly and allowed her voice to leave her lips.

"The name is Jessabella, just call me Jess" the sight of bubbles leaving her as she spoke was unnerving and she tried to ignore it, she didn't need another panic attack just yet. Instead she nodded at Katzbalger's introduction and waited for the others to get round to introducing themselves.

[[ Nuuu, Katz. It's not boring. D: D: It's got me bouncing up and down in anticipation, anyway. xD By the way -- sorry it took so long for me to reply. =/ ]]

Seelie became still as more people arrived, her brow furrowing in a frown of thought and concentration. She didn't know anything about dream-sequences (or the machinery necessary for it), or about the brain or neurons or what dreams were. But she did have the common sense to know that it didn't make much sense for her to dream about people she'd never seen before (or fish, for that matter). She reached up to scratch at the side of her neck, but then jerked her hand away in astonishment. Her skin! It was slit open! OHGODSWASSHEDEAD?! Her heart fluttered and then began to race, and her face paled as she clapped her hand to her neck again, terrified that someone had cut open her throat and she was dead and this was some kind of weird purgatory....thing. But then she noticed the way the slits were moving, and that when she covered them up she felt the same way she did when she held her breath, or plugged her nose. A sigh of relief sent a cascade of bubbles up towards the surface, and if she hadn't been in water she would have sagged in relief. Okay. Not dead. Just. Experiencing weird things. Maybe it was the PIF?

Her little panic-episode had lasted hardly more than a few fleeting seconds, and hadn't been all that noticeable on the outside. When she focused again on the gathering, she realized that the Fish-Thing was speaking. Something about a king and being chosen. Then came another newcomer -- a woman with pointed ears and fiery hair. Well. Since it seemed she didn't have any choice in the matter, she decided to play along without a struggle. Maybe it could be...fun?

"I am called Seelie." She twirled around in the water once more, this time paying attention to the way her feet moved, and how it didn't feel like she was moving through water at all. It was all so bizarre.

Then again -- what wasn't bizarre, on Planet?

Theo grinned in delight at the sound of her bodyguard's annoyed voice. "There you are, Sally! I - oh..." her voice trailed off as she turned around, her eyes widening in something that might have been fear. Her mouth opened and closed silently, and for the first time she could remember, Theo was speechless, rendered so by her friend's odd appearance. She cleared her throat and mumbled, "Yes, well, erm...very well, then. As you wish. It's, ah, good that you found me. I was beginning to worry."

Seizing on the talking fish's suggestion as a welcome distraction, Theo turned her gaze away from Sal and said with forced cheeriness, "Oh! Yes. For those of you who just got here, or have a very foggy memory, my name is Theodosia Sharpe. You can call me Theo, though. Or anything, really; I'm not too picky." It was then that the newcomer truly caught her attention, and Theo pointed excitedly at the elf. "Ooh! I know you! Yes! Hi! You were at that bonding, right? Remember me? Hi!" She could have smacked herself. Smooth, girly. Real smooth. In light of that verbal diarrhea, she decided to just nod politely as the others introduced themselves. Another first. Let's hope these bouts of silence are a side-effect of getting your new looks, hmm? Wouldn't want to go changing who we are now, would we? she thought grimly.

Jessabella turned her head at Theodosia's introduction, a smile trailing her lips as she did indeed remember her from the bonding. Trying to control her body she moved both her arms and feet to swim over toward Theodosia, any grace she once had was stolen by the odd environment that she was in. "Oh yes, I remember you Theo ... fancy meeting you again here of all places" she indicated to the watery scene behind her, her auburn hair drifting in the water around her face. She wasn't bothered at all by the girl's excitable reaction, in fact she was delighted that Theo remembered her and was keen to talk to her once more, lifting a hand she gathered her floating hair and tried to get it under some manner of control.

"We get ourselves into the oddest situations" she chuckled, more and more she realized that this wasn't a hallucination and was very much real, she knew what to blame this occurrence on. Yes that's right this was all the fault of the PIF, what else would transport her under the water and leave her body looking like some kind of freakish merperson. She bet the odd power was having a good old laugh to itself at their current situation, oh well at least it wasn't that bad right? I mean at least she knew someone that was in the same situation and that made things somewhat bearable to her .

Nodding her head she took in the names of the others and frowned her brows as she tried to remember if she knew them or not.

Ah, that was great. The fish could talk? All of the other fish could talk? And they would all listen to it, no doubt. Oh for the love of -

Salimity gasped for breath, preparing herself to launch insults at every one of them, even Katzbalger, but found that her lungs wouldn't fill. It seemed as if she couldn't take in any air at all. Her long slender fingers ran over her throat, unsure of why she was feeling agitated and light headed, why she couldn't breath.

Instincts kicked in, and she allowed her body to start swimming in a slow circle about them, her arms pinned to her sides and her tail swishing lazily back and forth. Almost immediately the feeling of suffocation left and Sal took in a huge breath of sea water, filtering it from her new found gills.

So movement was key.

She swam by Katz lazily, taking in the scenery, hoping to ignore the fish long enough that he would simply disappear. "Yeah, I remember you. Nice to meet you again, I suppose," she grumbled. Her bad mood with Theo was still reeking from her skin (scales).

"Just so you know, don't call me Sally," she told Theo, circling in. There was no reason for her to introduce herself, though she was trying to memorize the forms, faces, and mostly the smells of those around her.

And while oxygen was getting back into her brain, Sal kept checking out her body, almost concerned by what everyone kept starting at. Because to her they all looked pretty different, and if she looked different. . .

Oh. Sal did a slight roll in the water, looking at her arm, staring at it intently before looking at her tail, feeling the feathery fins with amazement. Sal knew nothing about firaxin sharks, not even their names, but if she had she would have been very pleased to share appearances with them.

"What happens if I take off my ring then?" she wondered aloud, looking at the perfectly fit ring, wrapped snugly about her middle finger.

Hm. Talking fish with glasses and teeth to spare. Now, that was something you didn’t see - or hear - every day. Tilting her head to the left to peer at the creature skeptically, she decided in an instant that she really, really needed to get off of Planet. This was not, in any way, shape or form, mentally beneficial. It couldn’t be - the first fish she ever saw alive in her life was talking and wearing glasses. Oh, and it was underwater, where it had transported her and a motley crew of people and transformed them all to various underwater beings. Strange was an understatement, in her opinion, and the only way her mind was wrapping around this particular scenario was the firm belief that Planet was nuts and she should expect nothing, but prepare for everything.

At least, she thought as the fish spoke, they were called upon by some king or another. That had some merit in it, right? She sure understood the importance of calling upon her subjects before (even though it would be weird to refer to them as subjects) and thus didn’t do it often. To be transported, transformed, and spoken to by a talking fish must signify that this was going to be important and therefore in some way beneficial - or so she decided in an uncharacteristic show of optimism. Continuing on the same vein, she took a deep breath, reveling in the fact that she didn’t have to swim around in order to breathe, thank you very much. There was no looking like an idiot today - too bad.

She listened to their introductions with feigned interest, memorizing their names with ease. It was quite easy when they all looked so individual. She nodded briefly after every humanioid-turned-fish muttered their part, and as they all looked to her to introduce herself she found it almost unnecessary and was shocked to have to repeat herself. If there wasn’t a newcomer amongst them, who she now knew to be Jess, she would have deigned to do so. However, she knew that the stupid fish wouldn’t let them move on to get out of here until they finished introducing themselves, and that meant her too. ”I’m Aurélie, Jess. You seem to have arrived after my introduction,” she said with a faint smile.

”So, can we get going, now? As much as it interests me, I don’t think I would like to be a mermaid my entire life,”[/b} she asked the anglerfish, clearly growing slightly impatient.

After Sal had voiced the question about what would happen if they were to take of the jewellery, the anglerfish, who had already begun to slowly swim ahead, turned around once more and looked at her with something akin to an eerie grin, or at least the closest equivalent to that possible for a fish. It might even seem as if he had been waiting for this question as he started to answer her. "Ah yes, you might think that you were to be transported back to the surface if you took the jewellery off, no? Unfortunately, that is not quite right. It takes a different procedure to bring you back to where you came from. Taking it off would only change your bodies back to your original form, while you were still here, underwater."

With this, the anglerfish made it obvious that it they should be careful to not take their piece of jewellery off, as it would most likely result in the person drowning. What he did not mention, whether intentional or not, was that in fact, the pieces of jewellery couldn't simply be taken off just like that, but that was not something the group would realize, not after the fish's explanation. Obviously pleased with the fact that everyone had introduced themselves, he began to swim ahead of the group, illuminating their path with his lantern-like light, for one could get lost quite easily between all these softly glowing, multicolored corals.

Watching the small crabs scurrying around between the corals, Katz was actually trying to get used to the changes in her body. Sure, she had been swimming before, but never like this. Also, breathing with her gills was even stranger, as they weren't even the slit-like openings on the sides of her neck, like with some of the others, but instead they were sticking out branch-like, feathery things. There wasn't even any motion involved in the breathing, it was just the water rushing past them, and somehow providing her with oxygen. Even though it was strange, as long as it worked, she wouldn't question it, and she didn't want to further examine her gills, as it felt uncomfortable to touch them.

Now occupying herself with her companions instead of herself, the first thing she noticed was how Sal seemed to have to be constantly in motion, maybe it had something to do with the form she had assembled? The one who'd introduced herself as Aurelie had an unusual form compared to the rest of them, too, as she only had a snake-like, finned lower body, but her upper body didn't appear changed. Theo, Jess and Seelie looked similar to what Katz thought she looked like, herself, save for the outie gills.

Pondering these things, hardly paying attention to her surroundings now, All of a sudden, Katz noticed a movement behind herself. Trying to see what was behind her, she whirled around, but could only catch a glimpse of something tagging along, and somehow feeling a strange sensation where there should be nothing. Turning yet again, this time deliberately slow, she could see what it was. There was a tail! Somehow, she hadn't noticed it all this time, but it must've been her main source of movement without her even realizing it. It wasn't a finned tail like with Sal or Aurelie, but instead it was broad and had a sort of membrane running along the length of it.

As she was contemplating these matters, slowly following the anglerfish, their surrounding area began to change, from the colorful, glowing corals to something darker, more subdued. The corals were slowly receding, making way for rocks of different sizes and patches of seaweed, as they reached a huge, dark cave entrance. Out of this entrance, a mantis shrimp the size of a small car stepped outside, commanding them to stop. "Halt! Beyond here is the domain of our noble ruler. I cannot let you pass!"

But, as soon as he spotted their guide, who seemed like he was ready to make use of his impressive teeth, the watch-shrimp quickly bowed, and started to speak again. "I apologize, I did not recognize your lordship, the royal herold! This must mean that you return with the party of those who were chosen? I am sorry, but as you know it is written in the laws that outsiders cannot enter just like that. They will have to prove themselves, and the first trial will be here, at the entrance. I shall test their movement, as tradition demands it!"

Having finished his speech, he started to make slow, dance-like movements that were strange to look at and slowly getting faster. He was going around each and every one of their group, save for the anglerfish, as if trying to get them to answer his moves and dance with him. Every now and then, he would jab at the one he was circling now, between his dance, as if he was attacking her, but deliberately not hitting them. Watching this spectacle, Katz could only stare, dumbfounded, at the huge crab-like being, making these strange movements. It certainly didn't help that she had no idea what to do about it, therefore she would watch how the others would react about his behaviour, and react based on her observations.

((Eep, sorry for taking so long, everyone! I've been in a 'sentence-per-day' state for the last few days >:
Anyways, I don't really care about the order, but please only one post for everyone between each of mine, or it might get a little too much for me >_<

[edit] Forgot to mention, everybody can control the watch-shrimp in their posts, as long as you don't overdo it.))

[[ I'mma go ahead and reply, since it's my turn anyway. xP Hope you don't mind me describing the mantis shrimp? xD I found a picture of one to see what they looked like, and wanted to be realistic with Seelie's reaction. xP]]

Seelie remained relatively quiet while the others voiced their questions and concerns, content to simply observe the underwater world around her. If her eyes hadn't already been twice the size they normally were, they would have been widened in awe and excitement. To her, this was a grand adventure -- one she never would have dreamed of going on. She followed the group as they headed off to some unknown destination, keeping up but swimming out into the water a ways away from them, then swimming back, circling around behind, then in front. It was an endless world of blue, as far as her fish-eyes could see, and every now and then she chanced upon an unsuspecting sea-creature that startled and zoomed away from her so fast that it was a blur. She never would have guessed that there was so much life and wonder underneath the surface of the ocean. Her mind still could not fathom that there was so much water in one place. She swam up to some of the corals as they passed, reaching out cautiously to touch them. There was some kind of thin membrane covering her skin that protected her from the stings of the anemones -- a good thing, because by now she'd have been writhing in pain.

As they drew nearer to the entrance to the underwater kingdom, there were less and less corals, and the water seemed empty, almost devoid of life. A startled gasp sent a string of bubbles into the water as a dark shadow moved through her peripheral vision, but when she turned there was nothing there. Cautious, now, wary of some impending danger, the child swam in closer to the group. When they reached the cave entrance she peeked out from behind Salimity, and gasped again as the mantis shrimp emerged from the dark mouth.

So many legs! It looked almost insect-like, and moved that way, its blue-and-green mottled back seeming to undulate like the very water around it as it approached. She hardly listened to what it said, too caught up in the colors! Its many legs were a bright, deep red, and the feelers it held out before it like hands seemed to constantly wave back and forth and up and down as it spoke. A slightly hysterical little giggle bubbled in Seelie's throat, and she clapped her hands to her mouth to keep it from being too loud.

I shall test their movement, as tradition demands it!

Sometime during the course of the bug-thing's speech, Seelie had moved closer to it, trying to get a better look. Therefore she was first in the line of fire. As it danced about, she, too, moved back and forth, but she did so because she was trying to keep up with all of the creature's legs (which was impossible). As it suddenly jabbed forward she was startled into leaping upwards and away, and did a complicated sort of loop-the-loop in the water, coming back down right behind the creature. She looked surprised, as though she hadn't intended on moving that way - indeed she hadn't. But now that she knew she could do it...

With a delighted laugh, Seelie performed the "trick" again, and the giant shrimp seemed to nod its head (though one couldn't be sure, because that consisted of bobbing the entire front half of its body up and down). Seemingly satisfied with her movements, the shrimp moved on to the next person. Seelie continued to twirl and flip through the water, laughing almost uncontrollably the whole time.

That was the advantage to being a child. All of this was one big game to her, and she simply accepted the situation for what it was even while the others frowned and tried to figure out what was going on, and why.

((ffffuu, sorry I'm superduper late - I got really, really sick ;_; It was nasty stuff. BUT ANYWAY I'M BETTER NOW SO YAY POST))

Tradition? What tradition? Theo wondered as she watched Seelie's 'test.' Why can everything talk down here? Or maybe we can understand them because of the jewelry? Wow, that's a lot of legs... "Oh!" Her last thought was forced out of her mouth in surprise as the watch-shrimp turned on her and she was forced to jerk herself out of the way.

Apparently her movement was not graceful enough, for the creature continued to circle her. Theo turned with him as he circled, careful to keep him from getting behind her. "Hey! Cut it out!" she exclaimed indignantly as he jabbed at her again. The creature made no response, other than to continue circling her. Come on, girly. Third time's the charm. You can do this, she told herself. As the watch-shrimp jabbed at her a third time, she waited until the last possible moment before rocketing downwards, tugging playfully on one of the sentry's many legs as she passed beneath him. This seemed to be good enough, for the shrimp had moved on to another target.

Theo lazily kicked her flippers until she was once more level with the others. There, she thought smugly, not so hard after all, is it? You'll be used to this in no time!

((short post is short ;-; Maybe I'm not completely better, after all)

Oh no. No, this was not going to end well. Was it a bad time to voice that Sal couldn't swim? Lev had taught her, but had quickly given up after the fortieth or so attempted try. Sal didn't voice her concerns or let them show, but the possibility that she could drown under all this water hung over her shoulder like, well, an ocean. She followed the group, then waved at Seelie who had chosen to swim behind her. She didn't say anything, didn't really know anything she could say, so kept going forward under they ran into the fish place.

It was also a bad time to even voice how much Sal hated fish, unless they were fire oven seared and cooked with butter and herbs.

Salimity watched, watched as Seelie swam past, laughing and playing with the potentially life ending creature that Sal wanted to swoop in and bite. Well, she was without her knife and it just seemed natural for her to imagine building up speed and swooping in for the shrimp, and in one fatal chomp, break its outer shell with such a musical sound.

Salimity continued her slow circling movements as she lazily flicked her tail back and forth, watching as Theo tried her hand at this. And if the creature found her suitable - Salimity knew that was pride talking, but there it was. If the girl could best this swimming thing, why couldn't Sal?

Oh, maybe because she had never had the reason to learn how to swim before and something so vast and unmapped was scary. There, she admitted it to herself, she was afraid. Fish were talking for Mandalore's sake. Talking. Sal was glad Seelie at least was taking it so well.

Still mulling over the way she would handle this 'tradition' of the fish people Salimity did another log roll, ignoring the feeling she got in her transformed chest that wanted to lull her into sleep, when she came face to face with the shrimp fish...thing. But it was moving, circling her in the same way, dancing and trying to provoke her.

During the first jab Sal darted back, baring her teeth, and darted back in dangerously close to the shrimp. It jumped back, but continued while Sal went back in circling as well. The shrimp was brightly colored, contrasting vastly to the dark world Sal was seeing before her, and she was deadlocked on it.

With another jab, Sal spun in the counter clockwise direction and met the shrimp, face to face again, baring her teeth in a not-so-friendly smile. The shrimp, seemingly satisfied with her speed even though Sal wanted another chance to make it pay, moved along to the next female. Sal glared at it as it moved along, then with a flick of her tail, started circling the group again, very predatory.

OOC: If that's what's needed, cool. If not, I'm not afraid to admit I have no idea what I was supposed to do. ^_^; Yay?

Jessabella had been quiet for most of the swim, she had been far more focused in learning how to propel herself through the water with her webbed hands and feet. At first the movement had been awkward and the current seemed totally against her as she was pushed back and forth, over time she got used to compensating for the strength of the water flow and by the time they stopped to talk to the shrimp her body was undulating, legs kicking up and down to push her body forward and then slowed to a stop. The introduction of a talking shrimp didn't really phase her at all now that she was over the whole talking fish thing, but then the small creature was launching himself toward her with speed that she wouldn't have guessed that the odd looking animal could possess.

She reacted instinctively, her muscles pulling her body to the right as the shrimp passed her to the left his front legs jabbing at her every move. A host of bubbles left her in her surprise as she danced from each of his movements, finding that her movements where much easier and oddly more free in the suspension of the water. Her body too seemed to be more flexible, bending in ways that she could never have managed in her non-magical body and the feeling left her feeling slightly unnerved and somewhat giddy in delight at how easy it was to move. Each time the shrimp jabbed at her she twisted away from him, sometimes jabbing back at him with her fingers and a broad smile on her face as she enjoyed the test, she didn't mind at all as it gave her a chance to see what she was capable of in this form for herself now that she was used to the flow of things.

After a while the shrimp seemed to deduce that she had passed the test, or thats what she took it for as he moved to the next girl in the group and she allowed her body to relax in the water. Occasionally flicking a hand or a foot to keep her floating in one spot as she waited for the test to finish testing the others, floating allowed her to preserve her strength which she was sure she would need later when the real quest displayed it's full potential for danger.
