[[Please be patient with the timing of the next response. I have to get my brain back in gear after our little upset. Due to this being such a small bonding and twice the amount of attenders have popped up, JOINING IS NOW CLOSED. I had planned to close it on the day I updated, which was the day that AR went down, so there is no excuse about not getting the chance. There are already ... *sniffle* going to be people sad.]] RENAUD LE GANT Glittery Villager 26 Apr 2010, 4:46am Yum, the smell of grass in the morning, dew still making it wet and juicy. The sound of braying and grunting could be heard from down the river as a small herd of Mehdayri made their way to a clearing. Some of the offspring were going to be going to different herds, the elder Almond getting tired of them suckling on her over the last ten months... even as long as a year. Eight hungry mouths to feed, each taking their turns to suckle upon her nutritious teat of goodness. Well, it was getting to be a bother and some of the brats had to go! She was wise and intelligent enough that the strange two legged creatures would come and try to win over some of the brats. Good! Sure, she was with calf herself, but that would give her at least a little time without some little greedy bastard below her whenever she was trying to walk. As the herd stomped into the clearing, she brayed a little to get them to stop, the calves already running off like maniacs. Eight annoying calves. Some of the males were already butting heads, trying to win superiority while some of the females were entirely too giddy for the Almond and she curled her legs under her. There, that was it! No more milk for them! They had to go! Even when they came over and whined at her, she shooed them away, snorting unhappily as she rested her udder for the time being, feeling her own calf moving about like it wanted to come out and play. She watched the three Lagers hoping around, one of them chasing his little tail before running after another. One of them stayed close to his brother, resting his head on his neck as if letting him know that he wasn't going anywhere, or perhaps to perk him up. The third seemed to be braying for someone... something, even with his brother's head against him. Two bull Lords bumped heads, one Chocolate and one Lemon. The Chocolate held his head high, trying to bite at the Lemon that didn't seem to want to have anything to do with him but fight back. They weren't even the worse of the brats. The females were nearly as bad! One of the Tuttis ran by, stealing an apple from the female Punch, who got up to give chase. The other Tutti was braying in the Lemon's direction, pretending to need help getting up. What a drama queen! The Almond gave a huff, hoping that the two leg creatures would show up so she could have a little peace and quiet for a change. --- Welcome to a Mehdayri Bonding! This is a small one with only eight calves so hopefully it won't take a year to get done! This is double elimination, meaning that if you miss two rounds, no juice camel for you this time. Here are just some notes: 1. This is my first Bonding. Be patient. 2. You don't need to post an epic long post to write something that is good. Please, keep them of reasonable length. My eyes can only take so much text at a time. 3. There is fruit and other greenery around, be creative and don't make the Almond mad or you will get trampled. She's not a nice old lady. 4. Have fun! Some might run away, but chase them and make a game! --- Guests: 18/?? [Next post will be May 3rd or around that time... please be patient if I don't get it done right away...] Valerie, Thorn, Tatsuko, "Theo" Sharpe, Zeph, Jessabella, Kyaryn, Seelie, Yanaro, Katzbalger, Evangeline, Wesley, Aidan, Lenmana, Thomas, Esperanza, Aurelie Updated by Renaud le Gant on 3 May 2010, 7:43am VALERIE Opaque Villager 26 Apr 2010, 5:30am Valerie was out for a walk that morning, clad in a stately grey and purple dress. A little too somber for the time of day, she knew, but she had not had nearly enough time to outfit herself with a proper lady's wardrobe yet, so it would have to do. She was carrying a white parasol and wearing white elbow length gloves with little black buttons up the sides. The gloves were particularly difficult for her to come by. Apparently people in this place didn't find much use for white gloves, but she couldn't possibly imagine why not. Walking alone was not a pastime she usually engaged in, but since she had come here, she'd found that her customs had to change a wee bit. She'd taken a small knife with her as a precaution, but as she had no idea how to use it, she'd mostly just have to hope that no male would take her being alone as a sign that she was a lady of poor breeding and decide to make a point of it and embarrass her. What was all that ruckus, though? Valerie decided that since they were animal sounds, she could safely go and investigate. She made her way to the clearing downriver, holding her skirts carefully with one hand even there was nobody around to see her calves should she expose too much past her ankles. It never hurt to be careful when it came to such things. These animals were unfamiliar to her, but they seemed friendly enough. This might be a good place to eat her lunch, Valerie thought, and perched herself on a large rock a ways off so that she could observe the native fauna without disturbing them. Valerie opened her outing bag and took out a watercress sandwich and a book of Planet poetry. There was no reason for her not to culture herself while she was staying here, however long that turned out to be. Updated by Valerie on 26 Apr 2010, 5:31am THORN Opaque Villager 26 Apr 2010, 7:08am In what seemed to be another accident waiting to happen, Thorn stood under a fruit tree, staring up at a very tempting pear. Leaping up, she could barely touch it with the tips of her fingers. Frustrated, she emitted a low growl, trying again, but this time falling back onto her butt. It was obvious. She was drunk...again. Though she had failed to reach this rather beautiful pear, many others actually were within her reach. The half-demon's stubbornness prevailed, however, as she stood back up very slowly, glaring while she leapt, fingertips still barely catching the smooth skin of the fruit before the female crashed to the ground once more, with a thud. This was not her day. It could have been, if she had used common sense, or possibly noticed the troop of odd creatures just off to the side of her, but this was Thorn, in all her intoxicated glory. She sat on the ground, her tail flicking back and forth. Surely, she would have been able to reach the thing if she hadn't been drunk, but who thinks of those things beforehand? With a pout, the girl rose again, needing to let herself lean on the tree's trunk for stability. Her silver eyes stared at everything around her with a blaze of nonsensical hatred...at least until she noticed the mehdayri... With almost a gasp, her anger faded, being replaced by a fearful amazement. What were those things? And why did they look so dangerously colorful? Without notice, the large fruit acted as if it took pity on Thorn, knocking her on the head as the tree gave it up. The half demon still watched the odd beasts, leaning to pick up the pear as she began to move. She would indeed, wander closer, not worried at all about her safety. She carried the pear as if it were a toy, tossing it up slightly and catching it as she went. Thoughts about her own safety would come later. She had to know about these freaky horses. TATSUKO AKIMOTO Opaque Villager 26 Apr 2010, 1:25pm A chirp came from the skies above, followed soon after by a tiny shadow cast on the ground. Its owner stopped its incessant flight to look down at the Mehdayri. Find some water. Her bonded's request had been straightforward enough; they had been searching for something to drink for hours now, but any sign of a lake, pond or bottled thirsty quencher was no where in sight. The Mehdari. The Anta was struck by an idea. It would solve the problem and, while it wasn't exactly what Tatsuko asked, her owner just had to see the brilliance of his plan: flavored water! With a tweet, he circled the calves once before finding perch on a bush. He glanced to his right and called out, tugging gently at his bonded's mind - a gentle poke and nudge. He was answered by a soothing emotion and so sat back to wait. Several minutes went by before a girl walked in between a pair of berry bushes. She rarely bothered going around things, that girl; for her, a straight line was the shortest path between to points. Right now she collapsing with thirst and she'd be dammed if some mere bushes got in the way. As she gave the place a searching look, Kyoto left the bushes to come on perch on her shoulder. "Where is it little one?" The faedragon seemed to stretch and stared at the calves. Oh, great. She knew should have spent more time training the little nincompoop. Taking a deep breath, she tried to control her frustration, lest she sent her companion flying of in dejected misery. "Kyoto, these... creatures aren't water." Looking away, she sighed and rubbed her temple before peering back at the creatures. Come to think of it, what *were* they? Kyoto nudged at her, seeking a scratch behind the head. He had, in a way, found what she wanted. THEODOSIA "THEO" SHARPE Opaque Villager 26 Apr 2010, 2:59pm Her eyes snapped open. She lay for a moment in complete silence, trying to figure out where she was and how she got here. No, not complete silence...where was that braying coming from? The soft babbling of water... That's right...the river. I fell asleep drawing the river, Theo thought to herself, then sat up in panic. My journal! She looked around, sighing in relief when she realized the book was next to her and only slightly damp from the morning's dew. Tucking it safely back into one of her numerous oversized pockets, she silently gave thanks that she had found enough money to buy herself some new clothes, unattractive as they were. After adjusting the enormous goggles nestled in her hair, Theo stood and headed towards the braying she had heard earlier, daring to hope that it was one of the creatures she had seen earlier. Maybe I can convince it to bond with me...however that's done. She hadn't really bothered with specifics - all she knew was that she wanted something to keep her company for her adventures in this strange new world. As she stepped into a clearing, Theo gasped. Before her stood not one, but a whole group of creatures. Oh, how lucky! They're beautiful! They're amazing! They're...camels. She frowned, somewhat let down. She had been hoping for some fantastic, never-before-seen species unique to this planet. Then again...those definitely weren't the colors of camels. And those ears didn't exactly look right, either...I guess they ARE kind of cute, she mused. Perhaps one would be a good companion, after all. ZEPH Opaque Villager 26 Apr 2010, 5:00pm Akemi fluttered ahead of Zeph as he walked, body shimmering as she weaved in and out of the tree branches. Still, the Faedragon wasn't hard to loose track of, with her brightly coloured body. Locating a sweet apple, she perched on the high branch and began to eat it while her bonded watched from the ground. Zeph had finally caved into Akemi's demands to go look for fruit, and the pair had found themselves wandering in the lakes region, basket of fruit in hand. High above, The Faedragon paused in her snack as a sound caught her attention. Scanning the area, she spotted flashes of colour amid the trees and flew off to have a look. Settling on a limb, the Faedragon let out a huff at the sight of the Mehdari. If Zeph saw them, he might want one. Feeling Akemi's distaste in his mind, the Soul Collector wandered over, staring curiously at the camels. Was there a bonding taking place? JESSABELLA Opaque Villager 26 Apr 2010, 7:14pm (( sorry for shortness, it'll get better I promise )) Jessabella approached cautiously, she was determined to get things right this time, her eyes looking over the Mehdayri hopefully. She wasn't sure if she would be lucky or not to impress one enough to get a bonding, but she was at least trying which was better then not trying at all .... right?. A low sigh left her as she steeled her nerves, her fingers curling around the bunch of greenery that she had gathered before even approaching the Mehdayri. The greenery was the only thing she dared to gather, she didn't know enough about the local berries to judge on if they where poisonous or not. At least she was becoming familiar with the leaves of the local flora, enough to be certain that they where not poisonous and would be an adequate snack for her potential new friend. Yes she considered anything she impressed to be a friend, they where not 'pets' or 'bonded' to her ... just friends. Her fingers gripped nervously around the stems of the greenery in her hands and she gave a nod to the others already gathered, muttering a nervous good luck that she was sure that no one would hear. Updated by Jessabella on 26 Apr 2010, 7:15pm KYARYN MILAN Opaque Villager 26 Apr 2010, 7:35pm On that particular morning it was the sun that roused the sleeping faerie. She stirred slightly, rolling over underneath the tree she fell asleep... in? The girl sat up, rubbing at her eyes before she turned her gaze to the sky. Yes, you fell out of the tree last night, just like all of the nights before. I told you that you shouldn't try to sleep in the tree like a forest faerie. You-, "Belong to the shadows, yes, I know," she grumbled, cutting off the rant in her mind. "Now if you would please, oh lovely concious, leave me alone. It's too early in the morning." I can't leave you alone, I'm in your head. The young woman huffed slightly before stretching, not deigning it important to continue the strand of conversation with herself. After all, she knew when she lost a fight... though losing a battle against herself was a bit more extreme than usual. It was at that point the sound of braying reached her ears and she perked up slightly, her wings fluttering as they helped her to her feet. "I wonder what that is..." She picked her way through the woods at that point, wiggling between two berry bushes and frowning when a few berries decided to break on her clothes. "Well damn... guess I needed new ones anyway... and to find a real home." Her thoughts were distracted for a few moments until she heard the animal sounds once more and she remembered what she was doing. It was a quick decision to snag some berries for breakfast as she continued to walk, then paused when she realized that there were critters in front of her. "Those sort of look like... must just be a similarity," she murmured, shaking her head slightly before she noticed more fruit around. The faerie looked at the creatures, and then back to the fruit. Were they fruit eaters? Possibly... The thought of Tamirith and the... Vargul? Was that it? Yes, it was a Vargul. Either way, she remembered him saying how they had a "bond", whatever it was that meant. Perhaps these critters that looked much like a Halbrea, which was much like the Terran Camel, from home could make bonds as well. With that thought in mind, the faerie scaled one of the fruit trees around her and started to pick some of the fruit, recognizing them with names she had heard recently, such as apple and plum. It was apples she was picking now, though there were some types of fruits she didn't recognize at all. SEELIE Opaque Villager 26 Apr 2010, 9:01pm The girl was currently leaning up against the trunk of a tree, looking out across a wide clearing. She watched as a herd of mehdayri came thundering into the clearing, her entire body going still and quiet. Her eyes widened as she watched them, lips quirking upwards in delight. As camel-like as these creatures were, she couldn't help but wonder if they were more intelligent than she had initially given them credit for. Yanoro's Widad sure seemed to have quite a distinctive personality! She took note of the Mama-Mehdayri, whose belly seemed to be swollen, chuckling quietly to herself at the Almond's apparent exasperation with her young. Another observant mind took note of the Queen -- one that just wouldn't have those negative vibes coming off of the creature! Asha gave a little chirp, impressing on her Bonded that she would be right back, and fluttered quietly over towards the Almond. She kept out of reach of the beast, and took care not to draw too much attention to herself. She was fully aware the fluttery-things often caused more annoyance than calm, after all. She alighted on the branch of a tree that stood at the edge of the clearing not far from where the Queen lay. The Atara then proceeded to send subtle waves of soothing emotion at the Almond - they were meant to ease her mind, and to perhaps help the overworked mother relax. At the same time, the Atara sent a little nudge in Seelie's direction -- go! Socialize! Impress one of these cute little beasts! The girl watched her faedragon for a moment, her eyes filled with pride and love. Asha was growing to be so beautiful, with her winter-sunset hide, and the softly glowing aura that surrounded her. What a Queen she made! Another nudge from the Atara sent Seelie to her feet, mumbling a soft Alright, already under her breath. Tossing a rather juicy-looking tangerine-like fruit she'd found in the forest in the air over and over, she moved casually but cautiously towards the little Tutti on the ground, who seemed to be braying in distress. Though Seelie wasn't any expert, she thought that the emotion was feigned -- the Tutti's eyes weren't quite as wide as they would be if the animal were truly feeling pain or fear. Still, she thought she might humor the little beast. Children were gluttons for attention - this held true for all animals, human or not. "There, there. What a pretty girl she is," the child murmured, softly, halting a couple of yards away, and crouching down so that she was on the Tutti's level. She put all of her admiration for the Tutti's beauty into her voice, and kept it soft, so as not to startle the baby. "Will she get up for a tangerine? They're very juicy."She caught the fruit one last time and held it out to the Tutti, brows lifted as though to say Well? Do you want it or not? She noted the other humanoids moving about in her peripheral vision, but kept her attention on the mehdayri calf before her. What cute little things they were! Odd-looking, but cute! Updated by Seelie on 26 Apr 2010, 9:17pm YANORO NICOLAE Opaque Villager 27 Apr 2010, 2:09am Yanoro adored his morning ride. That was a simple truth to his existence. Today, as he did on other days, he had climbed up into his disciplined punch's leather saddle with the blue tassels and headed into the forest. There, the path that followed the river probably was the quickest route to the specific dock from where he could pick up any shipments, and also it was probably the prettiest. Yanoro and his mount loped down the dirt path, his bond determined to test her speed and stamina, the bonded more focused on enjoying wind rushing through his hair and the spike in his adrenalin. All of a sudden, however, the beast began to slow, without any indication from her mount. The witch gazed down at his Mehdayri, raising an eyebrow in question as Widad drew to a stop. This was strange. Usually she would bray or something, to indicate her intentions to him or ask for permission. Not today. This wasn't completely surprising as the petite creature was a bit willful and sometimes did things of her own volition just to do be rebellious and contrary. He watched her sniff the air though, for a moment and it became very clear that the Punch had some sort of reasoning for her behavior. Without warning, she slowly turned off the path, sniffing the air, surprisingly daintily and ambled into the unknown. “Widad, arr hyou sure dis iss a good idea?” He inquired, knowing that she would not be able to describe in great detail her plan. She just followed her nose to where ever it wanted to go which ended up being a small clearing with a very exhausted and annoyed looking Almond Mare and all of her children. Yanoro yelped upon seeing them. He absolutely ADORED mehdayri as they were to him a living beacon of nostalgia. The witch could not even begin to list how many happy memories, or even mundane memories of home were some how involved with Mehdayri. They might have been set pieces in a memory or they might have been in the fore ground, but usually, in his home country, they were there somewhere. Widad stood at attention for a moment, surveying the scene. She from far off brayed some greeting to the Almond, and gestured to her bond by craning her neck towards him. Widad then, as if an order, agitatedly blew some hot air out of her nose, as if to command him to get off. Yanoro nodded, clicking his tongue, in which she obliged him in the dismount by lowering herself closer to the ground. As soon as he was safely on his own two feet, the petite little general, made a b-line for the tutti that had just stolen an apple from her punch sister. Widad put herself in the critters path and glared daggers at the little one. Punches had to look after their own, she thought and she would act as a barrier so that she could end such bullying. Yanoro spotted Seelie trying to offer a peach to another crying Tutti. He enjoyed the child's company, and thus felt that perhaps he would join her and try to aid her in dealing with these very unique creatures. “I knew hyou didn dink much off dem before bud chow about now.” He mumbled down to her, standing over the desert child. The man pouted at the manipulative yet adorable little tutti, calling out to himself. “Arr hyou alrighd? Do I chave do come over dere an pick hyou up?” He called, a chuckle rolling over the warm chocolate of his voice. KATZBALGER Opaque Villager 27 Apr 2010, 1:00pm Katz was crouching on the shore of a river, trying to catch a fish for breakfast. While she still hadn't seen very much of this place, at least the outlook would be better after quenching her hunger. She was completely still, and when a suitable fish swam by she quickly snatched it from the water and banged its head on a rock. Gutting it with her claw, Katz quickly devoured the fish and shuddered inwardly, but raw fish was still better than no fish at all. After she had cleaned herself up and started to move along, Katzbalger's ears twitched, for they had picked up some animal sounds. Following these, she soon arrived at a clearing where a group of big animals foreign to her was resting. Herd animals, apparently with young. Also, there were other humanoids already gathered around them, so possibly this was some sort of event. While she stood there, a female offered fruit to one of the young animals. Apparently herbivores. Is this an event for observation purpose? She did not know the answer, but this species was one she had never seen before, and seemingly harmless. She just had to find out more about them! Deciding that it was best to gather some bait, Katz scanned the area near to her. There were a couple of trees bearing fruit, but she couldn't hope to reach those. Looking around a bit more, she spotted a patch of thorny vines full of juicy looking, red-ish black berries, and quickly went to pluck as many as she could hold. Then she turned around and searched for the beast that was closest to her, eager to mimic what she had seen before. Not too far away, two of the young, possibly males, were nipping at each other. Carefully presenting the plucked berries on her outstretched palms, Katzbalger walked towards these two, wondering if one of them would be baited. EVANGELINE Polished Villager 27 Apr 2010, 2:04pm It was a lovely summers day and Evangeline was out doing what most kids did on lovely summer days such as this one; she was swimming. In the middle of the giant lake the wingless girl was floating on her back staring up at the sky while just on shore in some long grass a rather large Chocolate bull rested his legs while keeping an eye on the girl who was paddling around happily. Put in charge of keeping watch of both his bond and a tiny Hin nestled between his legs shivering, he was content with his duties and knew what was expected of him. Wearing the ever grim look on his muzzle he watched the floating mass of angel flesh out in the water intently. As stated between the folded forelegs of the large Chocolate male was the tiny Hin, Fantine. Her faint yellow body shivered near violently as she hid between the knobby knees of her at-the-moment protector. Her whirring eyes were focused on the girl in the water who was splayed out and splashed a bit as she headed back inland, sending sprays of water their way. Chirping in terrified agony as a fleck of water landed on her wing the Hin backed further into Severus’ chest, using him as a water shield which didn’t really help her all that much. A look was given to Evangeline as she approached and sat down in the grass, just as the drums began to sound signaling a bonding. Looking up at the sky Evan smiled happily, “Oh! Hear that! Mehdayri!” she exclaimed as she tackle hugged the large dark brown males neck with a loving kiss given to the side of his muzzle. He sat through it with a stony expression, though his aura lightened happily as she snuggled him and told him how wonderful he was. If he could speak he would have been reminding her that it was just his job, nothing too great about it. Standin Evan reached down gently to lift Fantine up and though the female jolted away form her hand initially she climbed up onto Evans hand eventually. Snuggling into the chest of her bond Evan lead the way toward the gathering getting there in time to almost be run over by a Tutti and Punch chasing one another. A swift nudge on Severus’ part was enough to get her out of the way initially though, of course, Evan at once gave chase as well much to the shuddering dismay of the darling Hin cradled in her arms. Jumping in immediately Evan chased after the Tutti and Punch who went running away though Evan had something they didn’t ... ANOTHER FREAKING APPLE! Yes, that’s right. Waving around an apple in her hands she began calling to them, “Hey! Hey! Hey guys look!” She called as she stopped a ways behind them and began waving the giant sized Macintosh apple above her head, “Want an apple? Come here! C’mon! I have another one in my bag too!” She called enticingly as she stood in the bold sunlight waiting. Well would they come and play for treats? ^-^ In the background Severus watched on with a severely serious look on his long face, dark long lashed eyes on his bond and her surrounding area. He was her protector and would watch out for her after all she’d nearly been run over once today, he didn’t want her to actually get hurt while attending a relatively laid back bonding such as this one. WESLEY Opaque Villager 27 Apr 2010, 3:43pm Wesley was not much of a hiker… he was really quiet shabby at the whole traveling thing in general, and this was clear by the man’s current state. Having nothing but business attire he was lucky to have found one of his ‘just for messy occasions’ button-up shirts. It was a pale shade of blue and had a few paint smears here and there from his days of sprucing up his new home with a fresh coat of paint. The spirit had left a number of his shirt buttons undone, causing his white undershirt to be exposed ever so slightly; normally he wouldn’t dare do such a thing but boy was it hot out! With his sleeves rolled up and determined to make it to this lake he had heard so much about, he almost missed the sounds of commotion coming from of the path. Being of Wesley’s spirit roots, he found it easy to feel out emotions more than people and by God! There were a number of feelings coming from that place. While the nervous and logical half of the psychologist told him it was best to keep going and ignore it, the curious and natural part of him urged him off the physical trail and onto the invisible one. He thought to himself about how this really was rather spontaneous and irresponsible, but at least it didn’t feel dangerous. Everything he felt seemed rather positive, or at least nonthreatening. So onward he went! Pushing both physical and mental brush aside, he was lead straight into the chaos that was a heard of Mehdayri. Ending up near the affectionate brothers, Wesley was rather surprised. “Oh dear.” The minded-man murmured to himself. He hadn’t really been expecting this sort of thing. It was his first time around so many critters… And aside from the busy streets, around so many people! There was a reason he counseled people alone and didn’t deal with group mediation; gathers only provoked that nervous nature out of the man. Examining the ordeal around him, he took note of all the hyper young along with the mix of humanoid beings that gathered. Well… he was here and there was no turning back, or rather, there was, but he would feel like quiet the fool had he done such. Sighing pathetically he looked to the Mehdayri near him. “You're rather nice…” He cooed wearily to one that had been resting its head on its brother. Something about a creature’s affection for one of its own was oddly refreshing among the chaos. It would seem that Wesley was going to have to put off his lunch he planned at the lake. Instead he would admire the nature of these young, a bit curious as to the Almond… But from the feel he got of her, she was tired of tending to so many mouths and he could see why. Adjusting the bag he had over his shoulder that held his lunch of a sandwich and pomegranate seeds, the man made sure to keep out of the craziness and around the calmer sections of this gathering. As repetitive as it was the words ‘Oh dear’ kept coming to mind about the whole occasion here. Keep from becoming a broken record, he resisted those words and simply looked a bit out of place among all the relaxed and confident people. Updated by Wesley on 1 May 2010, 12:39am AIDAN Opaque Villager 28 Apr 2010, 6:48am You have fruit? “Yeah, yeah Momma Kara, I got some mangos and some peaches.” It was sort of a random combo of fruit, but after the Aurata had informed the boy that Mehdayri liked fruit, Aidan picked some up and got it ready before he set off for the bonding. He was still not exactly used to this sort of life style, living with shinies that he had never seen previously that could sometimes talk to him through his mind, going off to try to collect, bond to more, it was strange. It wasn’t anything like his old life in the city, that was for sure, and sometimes Aidan didn’t know if this life was exciting or if he missed the busy, constant moving of New York. It was completely different, that was for sure. Because of the nature of the shinies, Aidan decided that Kara tagging along would just not be a good idea. Even if the Aurata was generally peaceful and was quiet caring, just the frills and the four eyes and claws (even if she was pink all over) was just a huge no-no to him. Annie…well Annie was out of the question. Something told Aidan that calves and crazy wyverns did not mix. So instead, he decided to take Chloe, the sometimes moody, but always loveable faedragon. The Anta decided to settle down on Aidan’s shoulder, not really caring to fly off to some destination that she did not even know of. Lucky for the skater boy, the Faedragon had been fed before hand, and for the moment she radiated contentment. She nuzzled her head lightly into Aidan’s cheek affectionately. This day, this day would be nice! As of now at least. When they arrived, well Aidan got to work. The first pair he noticed were the two Lords that were butting heads, purely because of the fact that they were doing something that was manly. And Aidan, who was also very manly of course, was instantly attracted to it. “Yeah, go on!” he said, cheering on the Chocolate just because it seemed the Lemon had his hands full with one of the other calves. The mangoes and peaches he held onto tightly for the moment, careful not to crush them, ready to peel them open or just flat out offer them to the calves. Hopefully a calf would take one soon, he was getting kind of hungry… Updated by Aidan on 28 Apr 2010, 8:52pm LENMANA Opaque Villager 28 Apr 2010, 6:14pm Len had decided to go on a nature walk. And she'd managed to come alone. With Shantai a little ways away. Well at least that was the case a few minutes ago. She didn't feel scared. Since she'd heard some braying of calves. She stepped out to where she saw three Lager calves. She decided to get closer since she saw other humans getting closer. She found an apple tree, wasn't really big, but still had fruit. She took two and approached the Lager brother's. The one was braying and the other was trying to comfort the other. She took a safe distance around them until she was in front of them then gently rolled the apples towards the brothers. "Here you go." Hopefully that didn't scare them away. Though she would like to get one here. But if nothing else there would always be the Wild Creature stall. That was if she ever managed to get enough more for another pet. Since Antonio loved to get something new every day. He loved it for a day...then the next her forgot about it. Then Calypso was always insisting on new trinkets. Which unfortunately she didn't get those. But she had many reasons why Len didn't get Calypso many trinkets. It was sad how her mind drifted to her creatures often, but she couldn't help it much. They were her family now. Plus if she got a Mehdayri Shantai wouldn't always have to give her transportation. And Shantai had her hands full watching and trying to train Varekai. THOMAS Opaque Villager 29 Apr 2010, 8:20pm Tom was out walking again - that was what he usually did when he wasn't working. It kept him out of the way of trouble, most times, and it was relaxing to be out in nature, where one was only occasionally assaulted by some horrible alien thing. Plus, he was probably in the best shape he'd ever been in, now, and considering all the marching he'd done while he was in the army, that was something. He had liked swimming, too, but since the Squid Incident, he'd been considerably less keen on the idea. The braying of Mehdayri was pretty much constant background noise in the Weyrd. Less so out here, however, so Tom was curious when he heard all the noise. His curiosity had nearly gotten him killed several times, and yet he still followed the noise and found the Almond and her brood, with a crowd of people gathering around. Oh, it must be a bonding! Tom glanced around at some of the others. He wasn't quite sure what to do here, what the protocol was - he only had one Mehdayri, and she'd come from the Creature Stall. It didn't look like anyone in particular was in charge; maybe the mother was wild. In that case, it was more or less a free-for-all. Tom plucked an apple, or something that looked rather apple-y even though it was blue, from a nearby tree and wandered closer to where the calves were playing. He stopped near the affectionate Lager brothers, curiously watching them. That one calf was very sweet, but what on earth was wrong with the other one? He cautiously walked forward, peering closely at the braying Lager with his brow furrowed in concern. Was the little thing hurt or something? ESPERANZA PORTULACA Opaque Villager 2 May 2010, 7:22pm It was a beautiful day. Esperanza decided to take a short walk. The trees were beautiful shades of green, and Esperanza just liked hiking and looking at the beauty around her. Today, she remembered to bring her notebook. She loved to sketch and take notes of the different species of plants and animals she saw. She was even known to sketch the occasional rock, if it was an unusual shape or color. Esperanza wiped the sweat off her forehead. She was thankful she was wearing a knee-length skirt instead of ankle-length, the air felt cool on her bare legs. However, she was still a little warm. She felt a heat blush rise to her cheeks. Suddenly she heard a noise in a nearby clearing. Esperanza dropped to her knees and crawled slowly, not realizing how she was grass staining her skirt. "I wonder what that is?" she asked herself. She inched up a small boulder until she could see what was in the clearing. "Mehdayri!" she exclaimed in a whisper. She proceeded to take out her notebook and quickly sketch the herd. Updated by Esperanza Portulaca on 2 May 2010, 7:23pm AURÉLIE HAMILTON Opaque Villager 3 May 2010, 12:03am It wasn’t often that Aurélie needed “time to think.” In fact, it was downright unlikely to find the woman away from people in general; the need to think separately from multitasking on top of that was an occasion that she had no recollection of if it had even occurred at all. However, her game plan in arriving to Planet was much different than any other course of action that she prescribed herself before. Planet had provided a challenge for her (she’d be damned if that PIF was as haphazard as everyone thought it was) and she was determined to do it one better. A challenge this big required more planning than just jumping in headfirst. Thus, here comes the thinking time. Thinking time so Aurélie could have successful planning time was step one. All steps after that were to be determined, highlighting the importance of aforementioned planning time. Awaking with steely eyes, she prepared rather meticulously for the day, first having a breakfast of fruit and yogurt accompanied by a morning Bloody Mary providing the necessary energy for the day, thanks to the sickness that plagued her. She adorned her diamonds, pearls, and silks before slipping on her “wilderness” boots which were nothing more special than leather boots without heels, original only because they were the only shoes without heels she possessed. Packing a satchel with the necessary rations for the day - cheese, wine, caviar, and apple slices - she set off in a westerly direction, hoping to lose herself in the fields and maybe enjoy a picnic on the river. As she began to walk away from her home and further into the wild, she could feel herself relaxing. Her breathing became deeper and less constrictive, her gait became more natural and less pristine although it still possessed the grace that she was born and raised with. Then the thoughts began, slowly at first, as if it was a fire starting from a tiny ember. Small tendrils of smoke circled lazily up to the sky, soon followed by a little bit of crackling as the flames began to catch on the tinder. Thirty minutes and a good well into the rolling plains, the fire was ablaze and Aurélie was lost deep in thought. Simultaneously, however, there was a stirring in the wild that broke her almost passionate reverie. First it was the braying of some kind of animal unseen, followed by far more disturbing noises. Noises like whining, and clashing, and, worst of all, speaking. How dare there be people here, when Aurélie actually took the time out of her day to get away from people and think? Judging from the noise resonating from the field over the hill, it was quite a large collection of people and animals as well - a regular menagerie! Well, I’ll be damned, Aurélie thought bitterly, chuckling softly at the once familiar pun. It reminded her too much of home for her liking, and with a small smile she kept walking to peer over the hill towards the collection. A group of camels (what she could presume were camels, anyway, for she had only seen pictures to begin with) in a variety of colors were traipsing around. There were eight little ones, all significantly emotional in some way, shape, or form, and a good number of various strange humanoid type things along with a speckling of other creature type things. She was right, it was a menagerie. A rather eclectic one, as well. Pursing her lips softly, she stood at the top of the hill that lay approximately a hundred yards away from the majority of the caravan, the breeze blowing her dress around her legs softly. At this point, she decided to simply observe the peculiar goings on and continue her thinking - along with a light snack, of course. Aurélie moved close enough to hear the dialogue of the potentials clearly, but not too close as to interfere with whatever was going on. She sat delicately in the grass, opening her satchel and watching with a blank stare as she nibbled on some apple silently. |

RULES/NOTES: 1. 5. I hold the right to suddenly change the rules! 6. If you miss TWO weeks (without giving me a viable explination (done case by case)) I will BOOT you so FAST you won’t even KNOW what HIT YOU! 8D -NEW!- 7. One post per round! SRSLY! Guests: 12 Valerie*, (( Asterix means you missed a round, two means yer out! Bolded means you've succesfully bonded and in you have "(N)" next to your name and you're bolded it means you still need to name yer mehdayri! )) PROFILES: Jessabella Katzbalger Kyaryn Theodosia (Sorta'?) Currently: Picking a fight to show off his MANLY ness. With: Aidan This young man will definately be a fighter and a lover of chases. He may not win all chases, and that will not be fun to deal with since this particular chocolate knows he's the best and being proven wrong in any way will frustrate him to no end. To lose a fight or a contest of strenght or will or even knowledge would not be something he would deal well with. Wanton destruction would follow until he tires or is given something else to put his energy into. Tricking this male into doing work would not be hard. Tricking him into standing around and doing nothing? Impossible. If you bond to this rowdy, competitive lord expect to take him everywhere with you. His colours are nothing special but then chocolates are known for having no markings. Markings resembling wrist bands surround his ankles, a bit of a rusty brown on the longer fur decorating his neck. The thick white band of fur around his nuzzle is a line that seperates the veltety soft nose from the coraser fur around his face. His body is a rich, milk chocolate brown and his fur is shaggy and coarse which seems to match this short and stocky mehdayri rather well. Eyes the colour of jeans are not gleaming with intelligence but there is a fire and a drive. This chocolate straddles the "brave" and "stupid" line rather often. PRODUCES: Chocolate Milk -Image Removed- Fair and Friendly Giant Lemon Mehdayri BONDED TO: Katzbalger NAME: Brahmos Currently: Getting headbutted by a chocolate lord calf With: Zeph , Katz , Jessabella This lemon's dream is to be a leader. His father was a lemon and a leader and this mehdayri plans to follow his father. Intelligent (for a mehdayri) he is rather observant and could make a rather decent leader, if he could command his troupes. Whatever it is about him this lemon cannot keep order and control. He acts the part but doesn't seem to really walk the walk, in fact he seems to be having a really hard time reigning in those gangly legs of his. When he's fully grown he will tower over his peers, even other lemons, but for now that height is one of his greatest obsticles rather then his greatest strength. A rather bland sandy colour for his body the stripe along his belly really pops being a vibrant sporty yellow. This mehdayri is rediculously lanky, to the point of it being silly. Specks of white splatter his two fore legs, hind legs recieving a smattering of a sandy, hard to even see yellow. This lords fur is short and there are patches of skin showing from his "fights" with his male lord "brother". Purple eyes pop against the yellowed colour scheme. PRODUCES: Lemon Juice -Image Removed- Und How Das Dat Make Joo Feel? Lager Mehdayri BONDED TO: Theodosia NAME: Oliver Currently: Comforting her new Bonded With: Theodosia A gentle and kind soul, this lager is always looking out for others. A good listener he will always be there for his bonded or anyone else in need of somebody who will just stand around and listen. A few suspect this is because he'd rather get out of work but it's a little hard to confirm. This guy rarely brays or... says or does much of anything. Just listens and listens intently. He'll also nudge, bump and otherwise do his best to stay close to you. Wear your steel toed boots as he probably will step on your feet, accidentally of course. His amber coloured body hints towards the amber beer he produces. His white spots are rather large, concetrating around his face and the back of his hump. He looks almost like a glass of beer himself.A warm body this lager is so average there is not much else to say about him. He is easy to miss in a crowd. PRODUCES: "Au Secours" Amber Beer ![]() The Monocramatic Beauty Lager Mehdayri BONDED TO: Esperanza NAME: Estello With: Esparanza, Aurelie This boy is gorgeous and he knows it. This lager is a lover, not a fighter; so as much as he loves the ladies it is unlikely that he will ever win a chase. Once he's reached the age he'll try, but this lager would be the first to shy from a fight. That doesn't mean he doesn't enjoy biting and kicking as much as the next mehdayri, he just doesn't want to get hit. Playful nips are not beyond him. Being rather stocky and large for a lager he is not always entirely aware of his own strength, so a nudge from him could mean landing on your butt. If you're of the feminine persuasion you can expect many apologetic braying. Helping a beautiful young lady carry her bags, reach something on a high shelf or any other simple task is also up this lagers alley. If you're of the male persuasion, or the task is diffcult, long or hard, expect this lager to stand still and not budge from his spot. Stubborn as a mule this mehdayri hates work in all forms. With a uniformly dark coat this young man knows he is quite handsome. Small, white speckles dance across his back and end in an almost apallosa like effect around his rump, the dots resembling stars in the night sky. The soft feel of his nose continues almost right across his face, the rest of his fur is short and almost equally as soft until you reach his feet. A feathering effect starts at the "knees" and goes all the way down to his toes. His eyes are dark teal and very charming. He knows he is handsome and is willingly flaunting it every chance he gets. PRODUCES: "Yebisu" Dark Beer -Image Removed- Never Leave Your Drink Unattended Lager Mehdayri BONDED TO: Thomas NAME: Cyril Currently: Braying loudly and being picky and indecisive about food. Paranoid? With: Thomas and Aurelie This lager is hard to please, not because he doesn't like certain foods or things, no he's just very... frightened. When he was very young his father (a very proud punch, but not to bright) ate some poisnous berries and died soon after. The memory has sort of seriously scarred this little one. He ffels lost and alone and scared. Danger lurks inside every berry, ever blade of grass. It's around every rock, every bend in the river and IN YOUR SHOES! It takes him some time to adjust to a new setting and since this mehdayri herd is always on the move he is constantly in distress. This lager is thin enough for it to be unhealthy. His ribs are easy enough to find and feel and his bell, though not non existent, is barely a bump. He's one of the older of the young calves and yet, because of his lack of sufficiinet food he is small and unsteady still. He probably won't be the largest, strongest or even average but once he's bonded he'll stick to you like glue. Once comfortable in a setting (and strong enough) this lager will actually do work like pulling carts, he just takes a long time to be comfortable anywhere. The colour of dried blood his eyes are constantly darting about and looking around. It's not often you'll see the whites of a mehdayri's eyes but this lager is the exception. His coat is fairly unhealthy due to the lack of food, permanent splotches of non-coloured fur dot his body. The smaller speckles of white by his head seem to be a part of his natural coat colour. If he wasn't su under fed and stressed he could brobably be very handsome. PRODUCES: "Skinny Blonde" Blonde Beer ![]() The Skittish Plaid Baby Blanket Female Punch Mehdayri BONDED TO: Yanoro NAME: Pari With: Evan, Yanoro, Seelie This girl is shy and the runt of the littler. She is not the smallest because of mal nutrition but just through genetics. She is often teased by the others (specifically her tutti sister) and because of this is shy and doormattish. You can get away with doing anything to her and she won't complain. The softly spoken type you won't hear much from her unless there's something trying to threaten her in anyway, then you might hear a weak, half hearted braying. Her coat is actually quite beautiful, a sort of plaid effect of pinks and reds, her fur is long and shaggy, but silky smooth. It's great for gripping when bare back riding not to mention she makes a great pillow and bed for those nights when you want to sleep out under the stars. The only "unflattering" look to her, besides her small stature (and that's not necessarily bad) are her long, drooping ears. Their length is akin to a donkeys but, unlike many mules these ears droop down at all times giving her a perptually sad look. PRODUCES: Punch (Dry) -Image Removed- Mirage Night Tutti Mehdayri BONDED TO: Seelie NAME: ??? Currently: Getting scritches and love and being picked up by Yanoro and also giving Widad dirty looks. With: Seelie, Yanoro Attention is all she seeks and with that gradient coat and pale blue eyes, who is about to deny her? When she was born she had been a little... under the weather. Her sickness was not bad, or traumatizing but from day one she has been pampered and she has no reason to stop any time soon. She'll play cute and innocent up until the day she dies. Being a producer of the spirits she is also thoroughly against any sort of strenous activities and will do everything in her power to avoid it. If she can't out right not do what she's suppose to this tutti will bat those thick lashes, open her eyes real wide and give the nearest living thing a plaintive bray in hopes of pushing her job off on somebody else. She will also take any oppotunity (to get out of work or just to get attention) to fake an injury. This tutti is prone to crying wolf and I feel real sorry for her when she does end up getting hurt and noone comes to her aide... Her body is mostly a deep purple, gradienting off into a warm orange. For a tutti she is bare of markings for the most part. Oh herleft side is a sliver of, what appaers to be, the moon. Though simple her colours are eye catching and vibrant. For a tutti she is very round, a plump girl who, if not walked about (complaning all the way) would probably fall into being over weight. PRODUCES: Merlot Wine (Black Cherry-ish Flavoured). ![]() A Tutti Common UNBONDED! This tutti is quite the handful. Cunning and mischievous this girl is a thinker (for a mehdayri). Controlling, and manipulative, in a sense. She'll do things just to annoy you; to throw you off your game. For the most part this is for scientific reasons as she's a doer if only to be a thinker. Observant and sly this mehdayri would fit in swell with the tzingane. Rilling people up and watching how they react is a past time of hers. And because she likes to make people mad, to push the boundaries, she is no stranger to pain or nerve wracking situations. She has nerves of steel and fast enough feet to get her out of most situations. Smokey markings decorate this girls body, making her mysterious and entirely eye catching. Silky smooth fur ripples against her wirey frame, her form is something else as far as mehdayri go. Her belly is not very round or big, only her strange colours and the distilled water she produces mark her as a tutti. PRODUCES: Distilled Water NEWS/ARCHIVES: May-16-2010 Okay! So this is late! Why? Well if you haven’t noticed this is Alice Gray/Moofius, not Renaud. For various reasons I’m taking over! SO Sorry this is late, I was sort of trying to get set up. I’ll do my best to keep to my schedule and I LOVE YOU GUYS for your PATIENCE and UNDERSTANDING! 8D If you’re neither um... GTFO? I will wrap this whole bonding up by the 23rd of June, by the way. Since I go on vacation then. And I'm going to be super absent. So like, just FYI, so nobody is surprised. xD; OH! REAL QUICK! SUPER IMPORTANT! TRES IMPORTANTE! LINK ME TO YOUR PROFILE PLEASE! I know some of you, but not all of you, and I rather being to describe what the mehdayri are seeing and smelling. So Valerie the slamander girl, you know, weirdly coloured body? I want to know so I can have the mehdayri like, "OHEMGEE. She is TOTALLY orange, lawlawl, maybe she's tasty! 8D" or whatever. xD;; Another quick thing... I'll have descriptions and pictures up of the mehdayri and where they are... as I get them done. So stay tuned! 8D My NEXT POST WILL BE ON: May 24th May-24th-2010 Okay so new rule of one post per round is up. If I think I can handle more I’ll change it but I really doubt it. xD; for profiles I want things NOT ON THE AR SITE! Sorry if this is bothersome, but I say this because I just don’t trust the little buggers, aight? X3; The exact same information you’d have in your AR profile, but on the zetaboards or someplace else, kay thanks. XD; <333 Next post will be the 31st! Watch my post for mehdayri information updates! 8D They all have little drawings of what they look like, what they produce has been finalized and a few have their written descriptions up. A quick run down of where they are, what they’re doing and who they’ve surrounded themselves with per round will also be in the notes. So you know, what that for information and read my WHOLE post. 8D AWESOME! I also suggest reading everyone elses; they’re not long and there are not as many of you, it seems. Also personalities are developing and looks are up! So if you guys want to send me a PM on which mehdayri you like and which you ABSOLUTELY HATE or whatever, you can do so. I'll have the other descriptions of the rest of them up when I... do. o^o;;; Yup. XD; June-1st-2010 SORRY! D8 I will have a post up for you at the end of the day! I was working on the post but I was talking to the girl I'll be staying with on my trip that's coming up... Anyway we got to talking about... some things... Long story short it took up all my attention and and and ... Yah, wow, bombshell. xD; Exciting but I feel so bad, I sucked away your chances of getting a post out of me. This gives any last minute postees a chance to sneak in I suppose. xD; But yes, later today (June 1st) there WILL be a post. 8D <3 June-2nd-2010 Sorry this took so long. x___X; This post was HARD! Also if you see anyone bonding *hint hint, nudge nudge, say no more, say no more* DON'T SAY ANYTHING until it's SUPER 100% CLEAR THEY'VE SEEN IT! Dun ruin surprises, it's a bizznatchy move. Also if you haven't PM me your Mehdayri must haves, most NOT haves and whatever else relating to your preferences. If you tell me why you love/hate the mehdayri I'll know how to improve and what I did less awesomely and... whatever. NEXT POST: 9th of June June-9th-2010 Some moar bondings! 8D Don't tell anyone who they bonded too unless it's 100% CLEAR THAT THEY KNOW! Ruining surprises is supar mean, aight? Erm, yup. This will PROBABLY be summed up in one more round? I don't want to say "It will totally be done next post!" because these mehdayri are moody. XD; But if next week isn't my last post, it'll be the week after that! SO! Do your best! Those who bond this round, please post at least one more time to tell me the name of your newly bonded! NEXT ROUNDS POST: June 16th , 2010!!! THE POST (( The order is gonna’ be wonky since a lot of you aren’t out there socializing. Gonna’ try and involve everyone but there’s ten more of then there are mehdayri. So you know, I’ll do my best! –salutes- )) Those irritating two-legged things. What took them so long? Weren’t they inexplicably drawn to these things? The almond mehdayri snorted her irritation; well they DID have TWO legs, being two-leggers, they couldn’t move exactly very quickly. Flared nostrils picked up a non mehdayri scent and the almond turned to see a salamander woman arrive, dressed in her finery. The herd turned their attention aswell (not so much the babies, at least not yet) but when the almond turned away, dismissing her as a threat the rest of the herd did the same, going about grazing along the river. It did not take long for more and more two leggers to trickled in, the almond giving them a warning glare but nothing more. She didn’t want to be annoyed but she sure as heck wasn’t about to turn away anyone willing to take these brats out of here. The queen turned towards a smaller creature of the same rank as herself, a faedragon. She snorted, nodding her head towards the other queen before laying her head down, happy to finally rest. And hopefully, by the time the faedragon left all the little buggers running around here would be gone, too. Meanwhile the dramatic little tutti brayed up pathetically at the child, happily lapping up the attention and and the tangerine. One pass of her wet, eager tongue and the fruit was gone. And still she was collecting people to worry over her as Yanoro approached. Pick her up? She looked the man over, not sure if she wanted him to pick her up. But then if she was dropped, hurt or not, she could get a lot more attention, right? She brayed at Yanoro OH SO DRAMATICALLY. Oh yes, kind sir, help her up? A half hearted, lazy greeting from the queen, who was really having no more of the group. So long as they left her alone and nobody hunted down her herd (irritating as those calves were, they were still part of the herd, until bonded. They were still her responsibility.) she would be quiet and resting, maybe enjoying the company of this soothing faedragon queen. She was quite young, and had not yet had time to learn the burdens of her rank. Lucky girl. The tutti with the apple would have screamed if she didn’t have her mouth full of apple (probably for the best, as far as the queenly wrath was concerned). The tutti stopped, flaring her nostrils and fidgeting. She would have kept her distance if the punch calf hadn’t run into her, untrained legs flailing as they slammed into one another, falling to the ground. A squealing mass of punch and tutti flailed about on the ground in front of the older, bonded punch for a moment. The tutti was up first, giving the punch calf a good kick before darting off, crossing the river. She still held the apple and was looking pretty smug as she looked back over her shoulder, dropping the apple. The fruit rolled down the grassy knoll and into the river, bobbing away uneaten. She didn’t want the apple to eat, she wanted it to annoy the punch... Now to find somebody else to bother... The punch was gathering herself, legs shaking as she looked around. Oh oh that had HURT! Oh... hey? What did that girl have? Back the way she’d come there was a girl flailing about wildly, holding an apple which looked... pretty delicious, all things considered. But she was so... flail-ee. With her long ears back (so long, in fact they looked as if they might belong to dear old velveteen ) she skittishly approached, looking over her shoulder often to the newly arrived punch. Was it safe? Could she get this apple? Was the girl going to run away and tease her too? The punch calf had lost interest in this particular tutti and she brayed, dancing happily up hill looking rather pleased with her mischievous self when she turned to see a salamander, but much larger the the ones she usually saw around. The tutti pranced forward, knickering her greeting. She seemed very pretty today so it only made sense for the tutti to go right up to the woman and snufgfle at her face and neck, making sure to get lots of mehdayri slobbur on her pretty clothing before sticking her nose in the woman’s sandwhich to lip up the slices of cucumber. With this done the tutti stands firmly by Valerie, looking anywhere but at her (what? You’ve got camel spit on your shirt and your sandwich has no cucumbers? Well that’s very strange, I wonder how that happened, lalala... ) noticing quite a few creatures approaching the herd. From all sides. Was it an ambush? Oh this would be exciting! She didn’t seem to notice Aurélie just behind her though a nervous flick of her ears signalled that she did know she should turn around... Things were just so INTERESTING down there. It was like the punch was looking for something down there that she could charge into and just cause a bit of chaos. The two brotherly love lager seemed to be getting much attention. The braying, fidgety one only seemed to become more distressed as each new person arrived. Oh my gawd they were going to take his brother away! He pawed nervously at the ground, head whipping around, two and fro to try and watch everyone. Wesley seemed much to scared and lame to be much of a threat to winning his SUPER FABULOUS brothers affections for bonding. He balked at the offered food, not too interested in that, no he just wanted everyone to leave him and his brother alone. His brother, all in all, looked confused as he nipped at the braying lager’s ear. It was if he was trying to redirect his attention from the others here. Pay attention and leave them be, he seemed to stay. A flick of one ear and the braying lager was back to being overly possessive. He was just as confused as Thomas. What did he want? A bonded? His brother-of-sorts? Did he want a blue apple? Apparently yes as he reached forward for it, only last minute did he turn away. No he didn’t want a blue apple! The lager who liked to comfort butted the other gently, curiously watching the meek Wesley. Did he need help, too? A flailing, more worrisome (at least in close proximity) mass of limbs were pitted against each other, four from the chocolate and four from the lemon. Acting as a perfect example for lemons the creature was gangly and awkward, like any ten should be, but almost doubly so as it was just one part of his rank. The chocolate was rather small (at least so far) for his rank, but tough as he kept at the lemon who was doing the bare minimum to keep the overly eager to fight chocolate away from him. Go away! He’d much rather make sure the herd was safe. When Aidan started cheering on the fight both turned towards him, the chocolates lips apparently curled back and stuck that way, ready to bite the lemons flank (tufts of fur already missing, littered about the grass). The chocolate approached first, his lip remained curled and his ears were back. He looked defensive but the playful spring to his step showed a more playful side to his actions. Fight him, two legger! See how well you match up against a fabulous lord (such as himself)! The lemon rolled his eyes and quickly pranced off, tripping over his gangly legs a few times before he turned his head noticing that there were... quite a few people back there. He brayed angrily at them, neck pulled back and legs forward while his body leaned back. It was an awkward, almost unnatural position that put the lemon on his butt with a quick, surprised bray that came from... the lager just behind him? Yes apparently the one forgotten tail (and perhaps skirt) chaser had been sneakily (well, as sneakily as a new born mehdairy can be) following the lemon, trying to bite his tail. So far it had not proved successful and having your face almost sat on was surprising in itself. The lager got over it quickly enough, leaving the lemon to try and get his too-long-for-him-still legs under his body. While the lemon worked on that he would be working the ladies... First he looked to Thorn, who was the furthest away and thus, less interesting (don’t stray from the herd). Besides the strange woman was all over the place. Wiggling and swaying side to side as she moved. The next lady had... paper... He sniffed curiously at the sketch pad, licking it once (the graphite pencilling suffering terribly) before he moved on, making a funny face as he did. Paper was not tasty, he had discovered. The next woman was found because he was looking for something to change the taste, lapping up a mouthful of berries and leaves he got a curious stringy something else in his mouth. He backed away to see Tasuko, her hair sticking up and to the left because of his inconsiderate licking. Whoops! She seemed very mad and so, to avoid being yelled at he cantered away as he passed Zeph. He gave the basket of food a side glance, but the boney (non-female) man lost the lagers interest pretty quick. He stopped at Kyraryn, snuffling at her. Hmm... Cute and smelled of food. His interest was there as he snatched up the apple she had. Oh, yummy! Not as good as milk though... The larger shot the almond queen a longing look before turning back to the faerie. Back on his feeth the lemon trudged off with as much dignitiy as he could muster, approaching Jessabella and Katzbalger who were pretty close together, holding out things to eat and looking tense and strange. He snorted, standing tall and proud, legs wobbling. Well, what is your business here? Are you threats, HMMM?! He looked around between the two, his searching looks looking out beyonf the two until he finally noticed Theodosia, snorting in her direction. She seemed to be in awe. Better show her just how great mehdayri could be, huh? The lemon raised his head and stomped at the ground. Maybe the force of his hoof was too much, though, as he suddenly lost his balance, falling over sideways. Very majestic, right? (( PLEASE LINK ME TO YOUR PROFILE IN YOUR NEXT POST! (( Profile: Jessabella )) The elf watched, her mouth slack and dropping open in awe as the Lemon approached. The way he moved with such dignity and strength left her in wonderment of the creature standing before her, for her every moment in the presence of such delightful creatures was a education in Mehdayri and the more she watched the more they reminded her of the desert creatures of her home world. Shaking hands lifted her handful of foliage to the Lemon and she felt ridiculously ill prepared for this, why should he want her pathetic offering when the others had fruit to offer? she shook the thought from her head, that was no way to think after all her offering was just as good as everyone else's, as far as she knew the lemon might not like fruit. Trailing her tongue over her dry lips she allowed her bell like voice to fall from her throat "It's okay, I know it's not much but it's tasty" she offered him a smile and then tilted her head as he stomped his hoof and lost his balance, others would have laughed at the creature but she just allowed that smile on her lips to soften in endearment of him, he would grow to be a cultured and dignified adult that was for sure, but for now he was still young. It seemed to be a given fact that all young animals where always all legs, unstable and unsure of their own strength as they familiarized themselves with the world around them, she couldn't remember being that young herself it was so very long ago and in a place that was so different to this. Despite this she still felt like a child, there was so much to re-learn and so much she didn't know. Turning her head slightly she glanced at Katzbalger and Theodosia, giving each a nervous nod, she couldn't compare but that didn't mean she had to be rude and ignore their presence altogether. Even if she didn't bond to one of the calves there was still a possibility to make new friends. Edited by Jessabella, May 17 2010, 06:18 PM.

(( Kyaryn )) The young faerie had just swung herself out of the tree, hitting the ground lightly due to her wings being slightly functional once more. She looked around, noticing just how many more people there were in mild awe. What have I gotten myself into? she questioned. You're doom. You really are a pessimist... There was no response from her mind this time and she smiled slightly, juggling the two apples she had picked before casting another look around. It seemed that the Halbrea like things, she really would need to learn their true name soon, were starting to move. But then she noticed that several people whispered the names and it was... Mehdayri? That was an interesting name... She shook it off as she noticed a small one prancing around the ladies and she had to chuckle softly, only to blink in surprise when he stopped before her. She didn't expect to suddenly have an apple gone from her hand, and forced herself to do a double take. "Umm... hello," she said quietly, musing things over in her mind. She caught the glance to the other Mehdayri in the clearing, specifically to one large one. "Is she your mother?" she questioned, not knowing if the young Mehdayri would respond. Part of her hoped not, it would startled her far too much. She still wasn't quite used to animals speaking, even if she'd met a few back home. |

((profile: Theodosia, Thread tracker (with pictures ohehmgee): Here!)) Yes, they were definitely not camels, Theo had decided after observing the caravan's antics for a while. Seeing several of the calves slobber affectionately on some of the others who had come to marvel at these strange creatures gave her a sudden vision of her head-hugging Ooglah, Miranda, clinging to the face of one of the young not-camels. She bit her lip to keep from giggling and thought, Well, at least she'd be suffocating someone else every now and again. It was then that she noticed someone watching her - an elf? she wondered, noticing Jessabella's ears - and hurriedly smothered what remained of her silent giggle-fit. It surprised her quite a bit that the elf seemed to be nervous. How odd - in all of her stories, elves were cool and collected, barely showing any emotion at all, let alone nerves. She gave the girl a reassuring smile and a nod, and was about to open her mouth to ask what was wrong when she noticed the Lemon calf topple over. Her feet seemed to move of their own accord as she strode briskly towards him, knowing that even if she had not wanted to, she must make sure that this little one was all right. Thankfully, that seemed to be the case. But he was a proud creature, Theo had gathered from watching him earlier, and she must not offend him by offering her assistance. Thinking quickly, she knelt beside him and rummaged around in her pockets for a bribe of some sort. Book, spare underwear, sandwich - nah, he wouldn't want that; it's half gone already...pen, 'nother book - oop, sorry, Mir! No, no you stay asleep - peach? She had no idea how that had gotten in there - it was slightly over-ripe and had dripped its sticky juice all over the inside of her pocket, but it would do. She was careful to keep her voice low and level, and without any hint of laughter as she held out the offering and said, "That was quite impressive. But you were just warming up, of course. Why don't you get up and show me how it's really done? C'mon, I know you can - here, I'll give you this peach if you show me." Suddenly remembering her manners, she turned to smile at the elf once more, motioning for her to come closer with her free hand before turning back to the Lemon and asking, "Can you show my friend here, as well? I am sure she would love to see how it's done, now that you're all warmed up." Oh, she did so hope the elf did not mind being referred to as her friend. She had so many questions for her, so many things she was just dying to find out - but they must wait. Something about the Lemon's antics tugged at her heart, and it would be even harder for her to ignore him than it was to keep her questions bottled up inside. Tatsuko's Profile The girl could do little more than blink in surprise at the larger gave her a new hair style, with Mehdayri slobber as gel. Fortunately, the wyvern girl wasn't too preoccupied her appearance; survival always came first. Meet her basic necessities: shelter, food and water, and she was set. "Water" had dumped her in the middle of a bonding. Whatever these creatures were, Kyoto definitely thought they were worth investigating. She sighed, muttering an inaudible curse as wiped at the gooey mess on head with the back of her arm. Ugh. She didn't mind dirt but this... "Kyo, I said "water", not "food"." She grumbled. The feadragon gave an insistent chirp and flew toward the Larger, diving at the calf and trilling, mentally nudging her bonded towards the calf. Drink! Ah, well. Let's give it a go. At least she'd have some fun and learn a bit while at it. For Tatsu, the way to the heart was through the stomach. The girl had cooked her first batch of mini muffins. She hung her shoulder bag on low hanging branch and carefully brought out a bundle of wax paper. She gave the bonding scene a searching look before walking out toward the middle; moving past Theodosia and the lemon, near Aidan and the challenging Cocolate, and coming close to the larger that had licked her before sitting down. She glanced about, pausing to look at the feisty Lemon and the Larger, before noticing Seelie. (who was accompanied a man she didn't know.) At least there was one familiar face. She wiped at the remaining mess on her hair and rubbed her sleeve clean on the grass. Once opened, the bundle revealed several types of muffins; strawberry, chocolate, vanilla and-urgh-coconut. The one that claimed to taste like vanilla had too much butter and she was fairly sure the coconut was poisonous - a concoction of sugar, coconut and choco chips that would make any human ill. She tossed the last one aside and, set with her bait, called out to the Larger before looking at the Chocolate. Both had caught her attention: The first for his audacity and the second for his will to fight. She smiled - that one would do well in the dojo. "I'd watch myself with that one, if I were you." She called out to Aidan. The boy could get squashed. Edited by Tatsu, May 23 2010, 01:05 AM.

Wide eyed, Katz watched what was going on everywhere. Her eyes quickly returned to the creature she, and two others, seemed to have taken an interest in. The young lemon seemed to... try to impress them? It was like the typical behavior observed among adolescent males of almost every species she had so far observed. Trying to impress. Trying to look strong. But this one did indeed have a certain majesty in the way he carried himself. And when he stomped his hoof on the ground, it was indeed an impressive display. That is, until he toppled over, now lying on the ground in an awkward heap of legs and fur and weird unknown creature. As Katz was looking, not sure whether she should laugh or not, the other two women were encouraging the young male. Should she encourage him as well? However, something about his demeanor made her want to tease him, just a little. To test his reaction, so to say. "Well now, that was very impressive, as far as falling down goes. Can't you do that a second time? Oh, but you're all tangled up, aren't you?" She was giggling just a little as she had said that, it would certainly be very interesting to see his reaction, yes indeed. But she decided to take it a little further. Smiling at both of the other women, she walked towards the little calf, and gently petted his fur with one hand, the berries still in the other. She had been curious what his fur would feel like. It felt soft, yet rough, somehow like cotton sheets, just fluffier? In one word, it was nice to pet his fur. But she did feel the need to encourage him after all, it was just not right for this proud young fellow to be tangled up in his own legs like that. "Come one. You can get up, no?" Watching him, she plopped one of the berries into her mouth, finding out that they were sweet and juicy. Quickly, she devoured another one, not noticing that both her fingertips and her mouth were being stained a dark red by their juice. Edited by Katzbalger, May 18 2010, 11:58 PM.

(( Profile: Thomas )) As the braying, upset Lager came closer, Tom leaned in, one hand resting on his knee and the other offering the strange fruit he'd found. Look, it's a shiny blue apple! Won't that make you feel better, little one? The Mehdayri reached out for the fruit and the human bit back a wide grin, feeling just like any kid who had just gained the attention of a funny animal. Yay, it liked his apple! Or maybe it didn't. The Lager suddenly turned away again, still braying plaintively. Tom frowned after it for a second, feeling a little let down. Then, his expression took on a determined cast. So the little Lager didn't like blue apples? Well, it must like something, and it was Tom's new mission to find out what. Glancing around the clearing, he noticed the same thorny bushes with the red berries that Katzbalger had found. The man's brown eyes lit up, and he hurried over and plucked a handful of berries before returning to the two brother Lager and holding them out. "How about this, then? Some delicious berries?" ((Hopefully it's okay if I post twice seeing as I'm reacting to someone)) Jessabella smiled, she didn't mind if Theodosia called her a friend at all. Shifting she got to her feet at the womans offer and walked closer to where the Lemon laid in a tangle of limbs, her gentle eyes surveyed him showing the wisdom that came with age and she turned those same eyes to Theodosia with a heartfelt expression of thanks. The woman seemed not sure what to say at first and she rearranged her auburn hair nervously before seeming to master her courage and extending her hand toward the other woman, her voice was gentle and the accent bell like as her words flowed from her lips. "My given name is Jessabella, but you all may call me Jess if you like" She included Katzbalger in that statement, they two girls where both tending to the same calf as her so she might as well learn both their names, it would be rude to greet one and then not the other after all. Once done arranging her hand she shifted the foliage in her hands her brows furrowed slightly as she arranged it so that the woody stems where not digging in to her palms so much "This is my first bonding ... it's exciting" she bit her lip wondering if that was a stupid thing to say and admit to, she felt so stupid among these people that obviously had a better idea of what to do to impress these creatures. The woman fell in to silence, she didn't think the lemon would accept the offered help of Theo but at least she was now talking with someone which made an improvement. [Profile] Quickly realized that yes, there was a bonding taking place, Zeph looked around at the participants. There were more people than Mehdayri, which meant some weren't going to get bonded to one. Spotting Katzbalger and two others entertaining/helping a young calf, he decided to go help. Glancing curiously at the lager, the Soul Collector made his way over to the small group, keeping an eye out on the other calves. The chocolate appealed to him, but it seemed busy egging on another calf and a human. Perhaps later. Why help? Akemi asked from his shoulder, hide swirling with colours as they approached the lemon calf. "Because I want to. And they're rather cute." An upset hiss was her only reply, and the bone man chuckled as he felt her jealousy. Yes, she was vain alright. Reaching the calf, he nodded in greeting to Katzbalger and bent down, offering the basket of berries. "Want some?" he invited. |

[ Profile: unfinished still, but should have what you need ] Aurélie sat on the hill, watching as the baby camel-things played and people tried to feed them stuff. She recognized Aidan, cheering on the two that were fighting. Other than that, she was completely and totally lost. She munched again, chewing as she realized that the people had shown up to take these things as pets; it must be how the people in town had gotten them. Another chew, and more munching as she recognized the tell-tale signs, including other pet-things that accompanied them. This was how she would get ahead. She'd get the most of these things she could! Apparently, they were useful... and apparently, they were worth a lot. Here goes nothing, she thought as she entered a situation without a clear plan other than to get one for her own. Standing, she was walking towards the main group when - lo and behold - one came to her. Well, to the woman sitting in front of her, but it was more or less hers. Close enough, right? Besides, about the only thing that the little camel-like thing had wanted from her was to make trouble then eat her cucumbers. It quite obviously didn't really want her. Quick thinking led to Aurélie's decision to feed it, or at least attempt to. Other people were, particularly with fruits, and the one in front of her wasn't partial for it seemed to enjoy food of the vegetable variety as well. Fruits they would enjoy may include the apples that she had in her hand. With a small smirk, she walked cautiously towards the creature and the woman. She didn't know the first thing about animals - she had never seen one in real life before, only in pictures or movies - and wasn't entirely sure how to act. That didn't mean that she couldn't try, though, or at least pretend to know exactly what she was doing. Moving slowly as to not disturb the thing, and taking a long way around as to not startle it or make it feel boxed in, she gradually made her way to the front of the animal, downhill. Taking care to not ruin her dress, she crouched down a good three feet in front of the mehdayri and held out her hand, one single apple slice on it. "Hungry, are you?" she cooed, her voice welcoming and sweet. She'd be patient for it to come to her. There was no rushing the things that you needed in life. |

((Yanny)) The man softened as the little Tutti looked over at him. He crouched down next to Seelie, in order to get to her level and become less intimidating. A genuine smile crossed over his face. Oh, Mehdayri were SO adorable. He remembered one summer when he worked for his uncle to care solely for the new lot of calves. They would beam up at him with those eyes, most of the time to try to manipulate him into doing something for him and usually he would, as he had a tendency to be mushy for adorable things. As she began to bray at him, his expression turned to that of amusement. This little girl was a funny one. He extended a hand out to brush against her head, uttering a few sweet words neither of them would understand. He then reached under her tiny body and lifted her sharply to her feet, dissolving very quickly to cooing and petting. The man could not help it. These creatures just had a special place in his heart of hearts. Widad on the other hand happened to be half successful with her intimidation. She had stopped the little impish tutti in her tracks, which made her smile before the punch she was trying to help stumbled into her. The Stubborn General stepped back for a moment, allowing the two of them to flail and untangle without the danger of hitting the elder of them in her maw. 'Kids...' she thought, a look of bemusement filling her features. It hadn't been so long since she was bumbling around like them, but Widad would take any superiority she had over others, and today it happened to be seniority. The two of them were able to get up finally. The elder Punch wanted to spit as the Tutti kicked her sister and bounded across the river. She took a step toward the fleeing creature, bellowing loudly at her a warning. If she were to be mean again, that little Tutti would get a sharp kick, that was for sure. The stolen apple rolled halfhazaardly in the dirt. The large crimson marked creature took a few strides to catch the round thing, only to approach again and drop it beside the little one that was trying to get up. The elder creature came over, bowing her head to help nudge her back onto her feet. She gave off a low, sympathetic grumble as she did so. Widad was always a petite thing. She had been the Mehdayri that others had picked on as well. When the little one looked back upon her, for her approval, Widad felt good. She enjoyed whatever respect and reverence came her way nodding decisively her permission and reassurance that this girl was probably being nice. She nudged her rump this time, urging her to step forward and accept her gift. Edited by Yanoro Nicolae, May 23 2010, 04:54 AM.

Esperanza Esperanza quickly backed down over the rock. There were little baby Mehdayri! They were so cute! "I wonder if I can get close to one" she thought. Quietly, carefully tucking her notebook under her arm, Esperanza crawled over the boulder. This time, she slipped quietly onto the other side. The soft grass cushioned her jump, and she made barely a sound. Esperanza sat cross-legged in the grass, looking at the Mehdayri. Her long, almost black hair hung on the ground. She took out her notebook and started sketching the calf grazing closest to her. When she looked up again, the ca;f was closer. "I wonder if I can pet him!" Esperanza suddenly thought. She started to jump up out of excitement, but she remembered her company and stopped herself, slowly setting her notebook aside and stretching out her arm. The calf didn't seem to notice her, but was approaching anyway! He seemed intent on something next to Esperanza, and she realized the calf was looking at her notebook! The baby was finally just close enough for her to touch. It started licking Esperanza's notebook, his rough tongue sticking to the open pages. Esperanza dared to reach her hand out. She slowly started to lay her hand gently onto the calf's soft, fuzzy head. Edited by Esperanza, May 24 2010, 03:50 AM.

((Profile)) Valerie was engrossed in her poetry, and so she didn't pay much attention to the people who came flooding into her lunch spot. Planet poetry was like nothing she'd ever seen before. The capitalization and punctuation was so odd, and the lines didn't seem to have constant meter and the topics were grossly inappropriate for poetry, and yet she couldn't stop reading. Life on this strange planet was certainly different, but Valerie thought for the first time that she might get used to it eventually. And then one of the animals approached her. They looked a little earthy, a bit gnomish to her, and she wasn't sure she approved. Frightfully practical creatures, gnomes, with no appreciation of the finer things in life. This animal was pretty cute, though, and Valerie reached out a gloved hand to pet its forehead. The animal, however, had different things in mind and promptly slobbered all over her chest in greeting. This was one of Valerie's very few decent walking dresses, and it was about to be ruined! For a moment, she occupied herself with blotting out the saliva with her handkerchief, but the big globby mess seemed beyond hope. Valerie reached for her sandwich, thinking that she'd finish it and go back to the inn to change, only to find that the Tutti had gotten her nose in that, too. Oh dearie me. Valerie pondered this for a moment, looking around at the other humanoids that had arrived. They all seemed to be trying to feed the babies, so perhaps she should offer the creature the rest of her sandwich? Making what she hoped were soothing noises, Valerie opened up her sandwich and nudged the first half closer to the Tutti. Or perhaps it would prefer a tart? Valerie had one of those, too. Valerie was loathe to let an entirely serviceable treacle tart go to waste, but this animal apparently needed food. She unwrapped the tart and stripped one of her gloves off to offer the treat to the Tutti. It wouldn't do to have her gloves ruined as well, if that could be helped. Aidan Aidan watched the Chocolate continuing his fight against his Lemon brother, or littermate, or whatever. He cupped his one hand around his mouth, ready to shout out one more time, when the Mehdayri began to dance over to him. At first Aidan wasn’t quite sure of what exactly young Lord was looking for, by the way his teeth were bared yet by his casual approach of him, until it clicked. A grin spread wide on his face as realization dawned him. A fight was it? He couldn’t read the Mehdayri’s mind of course, but in the back of his own mind, instinctively, the boy was thinking the exact same thing. Fight? Of course Aidan could fight. He was 18, a man indeed. “Let’s dance then, buddy.” Aidan wasn’t too big on fighting, but he had been in his fair share of them. But with a camel-giraffe? This would be the boy’s very first. He heard Tatsuko’s warning, and bounced a step away from the Chocolate so that he could turn around and give her a charming smile. “Don’t worry ‘bout me, just watch.” But at the same time, in the forefront of his mind, Aidan was very aware that this spar was a little lopsided. The Lord was larger, probably stronger, and had longer limbs that could keep Aidan far away. How was he to approach this? His footwork was sporadic and unorganized, but it kept him going, looking for some sort of opening that he could hit (though not hard, of course). God he wished he had his skates. Chloe had long since fluttered off the boys shoulder, looking at him from a distance and radiating a bit of a pout that the boy had completely taken his attention off of her. She trilled a noise of discontent, ready to demand attention from her bonded. Meanwhile, Aidan decided that it would be him that would have to make the first attack. Swinging around the Mehdayri to try to get a good angle of his side, Aidan reached in to lightly jab at his side, unprofessionally but almost imitating boxing, before leaping backwards as far as he could to block any sort of counter attack, though if the Lord made any sort of swing before Aidan got the chance to he’d easily land a clean blow. Though Aidan wasn’t very strong, he was athletic and quick on his feet, and though his movements were a bit sloppy, they were unpredictable, and had style. And style, to the boy, was a very important thing. Edited by Aidan, May 23 2010, 03:19 PM.

Seelie's Profile Seelie grinned when the little Tutti took her offered fruit, eyes shining. She turned that mega-watt smile on Yanoro when the man approached. "Camel-things are much smarter than I thought!" She looked back at the Tutti, moving aside as Yanoro helped the creature up, and then began to stroke and pet her. "I think mehdayri have Souls, just like us." Reaching into the leather pouch at her side, Seelie pulled out a few broad, green-and-yellow leaves. They were very strange looking: she'd found them in the forest. They smelled like wild berries, and tasted both sweet and minty. She offered them to the Tutti. "Little mehdayri looks like a desert sunset. Beautiful. She will be the envy of all the mehdayri when she grows up!" The girl smiled, reaching out with her other hand to stroke her fingers down the Tutti's face. "Now she is envy of all mehdayri littles!" 'Littles' being Y'psi slang for children. Asha, in the meantime, was content to remain where she was, continuously offering her soothing emotions to the Queen. The mother was calming under her attentions, and this satisfied the little Atara. It was important that the Almond was able to relax - it would do her no good to be stressed out. [[ urgh. crap post. x_o; ]] Edited by Seelie, May 25 2010, 03:17 AM.

(( Okay so new rule of one post per round is up. I'll have the other descriptions of the rest of them up when I... do. o^o;;; Yup. XD;)) The chocolate brayed, stopping in front of Aidan when he seemed all for a good fight. Lets see whatcha’ got, two legger! The chocolate lord spread his legs out, giving him a good solid base which made it hard to manoeuvre. He huffed, stomping around trying to follow the much faster Aidan. Ultimately he lost sight of the boy. Trying to catch up he spun around, quickly fumbling and falling into the lighter punch from the boy. A confused, irritated sound came from the chocolate before he fell, quickly rolling towards the young man, flailing his legs towards the retreating Aidan, braying all the while. He seemed to be expressing his anger at being bested by yelling in a very mehdayri fashion, trying to portray the message of: Coward! Don’t dance in and out of the fight! Fight like a man! Not that the mehdayri would even knew how a “man” fought. He’d never seen a two legger before, in fact most of the young ones here had not. The almond queen raised her head, glaring daggers at Aidan, but the two legger and the chocolate seemed to be play fighting and both seemed to be enjoying themselves... Well, sort of, but the chocolate always got mad when he wasn’t doing well. The queen snorted before turning her head away to nudge her blotted, pregnant belly. This little one would not be joining this bonding. It was a shame though, she would be rid of this lot only to have another greedy mouth to feed. Such was the life of an almond... Meanwhile the lemon was being surrounded by these two leggers. Apparently his impressive moves had not kept them in awe or away from him. He gave a nervous bleat, sounding a bit more sheep-like then camel like as he tried to get his legs under him once more. Most of these things seemed to be grinning and making sounds of encouragement, oh how embarrassing! Getting back up on his stilt like legs he snorted, blowing hot, defiant air into Zeph’s hooded, empty face before suddenly realizing what was in front of him. The smell of fruits had over powered the stench of death and the lemon, with another quick, sheepish bleat, backed away. That man made his skin crawl, but everyone else seemed to be standing quite comfortably around him. Stretching his neck out he nervously snuffled at Zeph’s hood, promptly sneezing. Right, well, this was a strange smell. He shook his head and decided that Zeph wasn’t here for him or any of his kin, at least not for death purposes. The other three all seemed very different. One was nervous and scared which he liked, since he was very imposing. Another was caring and concerned which made him feel embarrassed and another... Katz received a sharp nip on her shoulder and a bray. That’s for laughing at him! The lemon then promptly snatched Katz offering from her hands, eating it all, if only to keep her from eating it herself. Don’t bring him something to eat and then eat it yourself! Perfectly content with having asserted his dominance over thegiggling two legger he went about snatching up other offerings of food around him. He made sure to be particularly gentle with the more nervous one. It was one thing to scare somebody a little, it was a whole other world to go about scaring people on purpose, like that one tutti... “That one tutti” was standing next to Valerie, watching the goings on. One ear followed Aurelie as she walked around. She seemed to be just doing her best not to alarm her so the tutti wasn’t to interested in her. Infact it was Valerie who first caught her attention. Nostrils flared as she picked up a sweet scent, sweeter then anything she’d ever smelled before. Her head swung around towards the strangely coloured woman besides her, decked out in two-legger finery as she offered up a strange pastry thing. It’s insides were bright red and it smelled like berries, but so much sweeter. The tart was tempting, but not as tempting as those white gloves looked. Being as sneaky as was mehdayri-ly possible the tutti leaned her head down, closer and closer to the tart. When she seemed just about to scoop the (oh good god it smelled SO GOOD!) tart into her mouth with that long, dark purple tongue of hers the mehdayri shoved her head past the tart and into the strangely coloured woman’s lap. With a well trained nip of her teeth the glove was grabbed and the tutti withdrew her head, cantering away. She seemed to have a pretty good grasp of walking at this point, which was the only reason why she could stop fast enough not to run into Aurelie. The other woman had gone completely forgotten at this point, which was bothersome as they mehdayri was trying to make a quick get away. Thinking fast the mehdayri lowered her head, butting Aurelie square in the chest. It would be great fun to see the woman roll backwards and into the water. The idea was enough to make the tutti release a braying laugh, dropping the glove. Oh, whoops! With a quick kick of one leg she caught the poor, innocent white glove on her knee, snatching it up again before heading back down hill as she swayed her hips side to side. Come and get her, silly orange woman! See if you can get your glove back. Why was this strange, short woman not giving him her full attention? The flirtatious, dark lager snorted unhappily at Kyaryn. He didn’t understand her question, shaking his head and looking around. Well somebody here would love him and never want to turn their attention to any other mehdayri. Not giving Kyaryn a second look the lager started off again, searching for somebody to adore him. It should be too hard as he was VERY handsome and all. He did remember this other girl, in the bushes. He hadn’t thought much of her but she’d petted his head and she’d had that funny tasting book. With Esperanza in mind the lager turned away from the fairy woman and towards the one with the book. She didn’t seem to have any food and the book, as he recalled, had tasted strange. He looked the strange girl over, long tail swaying side to side as he took her in. Hmmm... Well he was here now, what would she do? Thomas was really having a rough go of it with the lager brothers as the braying, noisy and indecisive one stretched his neck out to take the berries, only to turn away from them and scream about them. The queen raised her head, AGAIN, and curled her lips back at the lager. He was always like this and the queen had no patience for his tom foolery. The other lager, the calm one, snorted before removing his neck from resting on his brothers. He approached Thomas and his offering, watching him steadily before turning his attention to the berries. A few of the red things were taken and the mehdayri pulled away, chewing the berries and swallowing before giving the other lager a steady, seemingly emotionless look. The blonde braying fellow had stopped as his brother stepped forward and partook of the offering. He watched as his brother chewed and ate the berries and waited a good minute more before suddenly turning to Thomas and eating the rest of the berries without a moments hesitation. In fact the mehdayri seemed almost starved, which made sense. If his brother had to taste test everything (what was he looking out for? Poison? Razors? Yeesh!) before he ate it would take a good long time for him to ever be full. Crossing the river, glove still firmly clamped between her large teeth the tutti made her way across the clearing, walking with a sense of purpose as she approached Tatsuko and her muffins. The glove was dropped on the ground. Step one complete the tutti moved to step two as she snatched up the darkest muffin available, the chocolate. The small muffin was placed on top of the beautiful, if slightly damp, white glove. Step three was her favourite part. The tutti snatched up both the muffin and glove and started to chew. The calf stood there, looking smug and proud as she chewed before spitting out the thoroughly ruined glove on the ground. A string of chocolately saliva was stuck from the tutti’s tongue to the wad of white and brown glove. As an added bonus the tutti stepped on the glove, trying to flatten it out as she appraised her work. Yup, it was just PERFECT! The punch nervously glanced towards the destructive tutti before braying miserably and returning to Widad’s side. Oh that horrible tutti was back again. Oh she was just HORRIBLE! She thought she was so great with her markings; she paraded around like she owned the place. And she was so good at walking, too. The punch was decent, but she couldn’t run as fast as the mischievous tutti. It was so unfair! She needed somebody that could protect her from that mean ol’ tutti and others like her. The punch was something of a social doormat; she’d never stand up for herself. This punch, Widad, was so strong and brave. Already the younger punch was looking up to her. He didn’t look it but this man was strong as he proud the plaintive tutti to her feet. She stood unsteady (though that could be acting, but she seemed an over actor at best and the slight shudder to her legs was probably real) as she looked at the two here, large pale blue eyes looking so big and “innocent” it would make anybody coo and do just about anything for her. Or at least, so far those big innocent eyes had done it for her. This large, fairly gruff looking man seemed to be doing a good job of babying her and she made a soft, shy braying sound. Oh oh, she was so shy, yes even as she... nuzzled his hand. Very shy, oh no questions. She also nudged Seelie, eating the offered leaves in a very unlady like fashion. What, she was hungry? She nudged at Seelie’s hand and around her person, apparently looking for more food. Was there more, could she have some more kay please? (( Sorry this stinks so bad. D8> I love you guys. >D< )) Edited by Alice Gray, May 24 2010, 08:57 PM.

Jessabella blushed slightly as the lemon gently nomed at her offering of leaves, he didn't seem offended by it at all and was content at eating what she had offered. She wasn't sure why she was so nervous, maybe it was because this was her first bonding and maybe it was because this was her first time around shinies? either way she didn't know if there was a way to cure it bar just allowing the events to unfold around her, it was an education she was willing to endure even if she did end up coming away empty handed. Reaching forward her hand she rubbed his nose as he ate her food, she didn't know if it was okay with him but she just couldn't resist and she found his fur to be short and somewhat course beneath her palm as she rubbed the area. She stood there a moment enjoying the contact and then pulled back her hand as she realised he might not like this at all, he was a lemon and above such things after all ... right? "I'm sorry if I offended, you just look so soft" her voice was low and she chewed her lower lip as she watched her foliage being inhaled by the beast, she was sure that before long she'd be just left with the twigs the leaves had been on. Well unless he ate that too and she considered that he might well do so judging by his hunger for all the food she and the others had. Giving a smile to the other girls she wondered which of them he might pick, it was a bit early to think that but she couldn't help it, she was curious and her mind naturally wandered to these places where it wondered on the 'what ifs', it was all part of being an elf, the mind wandered and pondered on life's experiences. Pulling herself out of it she searched her pockets for more food with her free hand and found the remains of a corner of bread and some crumbly biscuits that had seen better days, she couldn't beleave she was forgetting stuff like this but at least it was a blessing in this case and she offered them to the lemon wondering if he would prefer them over the leaves. |

She offered Aidan a lopsided smile. She didn't think the chocolate was too much of an adversary unless, of course, he lost his footing and...oops! There we goes! She chuckled at his ungraceful fall and shook her head. Still, he asked for more from Aidan. "Fighter 'till the death, that one! " she commented with a smile. As Katz received a reprimanding nip, her smile turned into a chuckle. Ah- Kyoto had definitely guided her to some fun. She still could not figure out where she was to get a drink ;she girl had never seen a cow, or any milking animal in her life, and had no idea what the mehdayri had to offer. All these creatures were oddly endearing. The chocolate, looked to her like a born fighter-or maybe a troublemaker- while the Lemon and the black Larger looked quite proud of themselves. Her eyes danced form one animal to the next, entertained by their antics. When the tutti stole Valerie's glove she was unable to hold back a burst of exuberant laughter. It continued for several second, finally dying off before she wiped away a tear of amusement. Her attention was drawn to the blond common; so preposterous! She hoped Thomas teach him to be more trusting. Engrossed in the many on goings, she failed to notice the mischievous girl until it was too late. She tried to snatch the muffin, but the calf was already out of reach. Undecided between annoyance and mirth, and finally settled the matter by standing and heading straight for the troublemaker, a pretend scowl on her face. She approached her with alarming speed, a predator on a hunt. At the last second, she moved away, ignoring her "prey" completely, still holding the remained of her muffins. She slowed to a stop few feet away, her back to the tutti. "Silly, silly, thing. Doesn't know what the lizard girl is capable of. She doesn't like things stolen from her - ESPECIALLY- her clothes. " She teased. Tatsuko knew perfectly well Valerie wouldn't hurt a fly, but she trusted the tutti didn't. Perhaps fear would scare this calf into behaving. She snorted. That might not have been the most intelligent thing to do - she did want one of them as a companion, after all. Jessabella looked to be having difficulties too. She looked down at her muffins and straightened resolutely, before going to the woman's side. Feeling like she was causing a good impression on the calves, but maybe she could help others find their partners. Grabbing a muffin, she held it out to the half-elf. "Here, he might like this.", she offered. Edited by Tatsu, May 24 2010, 11:29 PM.

Theo could barely contain a snort of amusement as the Lemon before her made a lunge at Katz. Perhaps those with egos smaller than her own did not recognize the consequences injured pride could bring? In any case, the little one seemed to have regained his attitude quickly enough - he would be fine, and was probably crowded enough by the others without her lounging around. She got to her feet and murmured an awkward 'see ya' before wandering off to find some more food for the other colts. Always were more comfortable alone, weren't you? Yet you always complain of loneliness. Make up your mind, woman! she chastised herself silently. She couldn't stay put to talk like 'normal' people could without feeling slightly nauseous, and few people were willing to keep her company on her adventures. She was doomed to have the worst of most worlds, it seemed. Bah! What was she thinking? Theo Sharpe did NOT feel sorry for herself! It simply was not done! She shook herself and strode purposefully towards a nearby tree, snatching a new, less squashy peach off of a low-hanging branch to replace the one the Lemon had eaten. But even as she turned back to face the other humanoids and camel-things, she felt...awkward. Out of place. Now that she'd broken off from a larger group, she wasn't quite sure how to re-enter. To disguise her uncertainty, Theo focused her attention on breaking smaller bits off of the peach with her fingers. Surely by the time she was done some opportunity would present itself, right...? PIF, you're pathetic sometimes, she informed herself helpfully. Edited by Theodosia, May 25 2010, 02:10 AM.
