Welcome to the Wilderness...

Spring : April (April Begins: March 20th)
Spring is really kicking in now. The world seems much greener and in general the weather is much warmer, even ideal. Rain visits the land in short bursts, and frequently. When it's not raining, the sky is fairly clear and the sun is bright and warm. It looks like it will be a promising month, full of hope and life for all the animals in the Wilderness.
Mating: No

A shadow moved quietly across the snow in the early evening. A black and silver wolf trudged through the cold forest her elegant limbs traversing the thick white floor easily. Her head was low, and her body moved fast. She didn't know where she was heading, only that she was heading. Her ears were low and her tail joined them, as a broken wolf she traveled unknowing of what may lay ahead. One eye, a deep chocolaty eye, looked to deep into the woods, her other eye clouded with blindness seemed to only look into the future. Nothing in her features gave away emotion only speed even though a destination had not been chosen.

Once she would have run with her head high, a proud happy wolf. With her family all around her, a happy time. That was a long time ago now, now all she had was misery and brokenness. The future held little for her, now all that life held in its grip was barely a morsel of what she once was. What she should have been now.

Off to her right, a slight movement caught her eye. She may have been badly broken but she was still as sharp as she had ever been. Emotionally she was a shell, but instinctively she was better than ever. Her graceful limbs quietly moved around the drifts of crystallized snow as her eye trained on a stray rabbit. It was scrawny yes, but it was food and she was in need of just that. Her ears shot forward as they swiveled with each tiny move that the animal made.

It was only feet from her when she sprang. It could hardly move but a few steps when she pounced upon the frightened creature and killed it. Her mouth thirsted for the blood and flesh that nourished her body. Not being able to gorge herself with the tiny beast she ate all that she could anyway.

With her face covered in blood she began her trek once again. This time slower, now that she had food in her belly. The destination still unclear she looked to see if she would be able to find a place to rest for the night.

The Twins
Newborn
[ * ]
The twins had only just recently arrived in this new territory, so they knew nothing about any of the wolves or any of the land. However, they didn't care much. They had plenty of time on their hands to get to know the land, so at the moment they were simply sitting and staring towards the river. They hadn't moved from their position in little over an hour, and to ward off some of the cold they were sitting abnormally close to each other, shoulder blades touching, tails curled over their individual front paws. Their heads slowly rotated in unison as they heard Torment's movements, their eyes sparkling alight with the prospect of some entertainment. They were completely and utterly silent, so only their smell could possibly give them away. They were also sitting on Torment's blind side as she passed, so it was likely she wouldn't see them right away.

Twin number one started the narration as Torment trotted by. His voice was eerily high-pitched. Not so much that it was unpleasant on the ears, but it held its own sort of laughter, and was haunting in that respect. "She's killed recently." Twin number two watched Torment intently, "Small kill. Obviously a lack of regard for hygiene." They both hummed under their breath at the same time, the tips of their tails flicking, "Wolves are so boring." They murmured together, completely disregarding the fact that they were part wolf.

Torment stopped suddenly as the voices started behind her. For a moment she thought she had finally reached her limit and had gone totally insane, but she had been mistaken there were actually two wolves behind her. That was a new one. She had not been in the company of wolves for quite some time now. It was an odd feeling, especially with the two, what looked to be wolves, voices. They were a bit creepy, as each finished the other, but it was odd to hear them say the last thing in particular. Though she dis not disagree. It had been a time since she had found the life of a wolf “interesting”.

She had stopped mid stride as their speech had begun. And now she turned to get a better look at the two who had spoken. They seemed quite scrawny and their fur was hardly what she would call winter worthy but they seemed to be making out quite fine. A mental shrug happened as the thought was dismissed and she came to sit in front of them. They had not spoken to her, and they also seemed like they didn't want to attack either. With her diminished social skills ahe really had no idea what to do with them. So she thought she might as well just say hello.

”Well... hello?”

It was more of a question really, inviting them to speak with her instead of directly wanted to talk. Now a days she was not a big one on speeches.

The Twins eyeballed Torment calmly, their dull mustard-colored eyes unblinking, thoroughly trained on the black clad female before them. They wouldn't have cared if she had ignored them, but now she was clearly coming to speak to them. Interesting. Well, they would have the make the best of this situation, right? No need to waste valuable socialization.

"She's talking to us." Twin numbers one spoke aloud as he stared Torment directly in the face. He cocked his head while Twin number two remained stationary, "Customary greeting. I would have expected more." His tone was somewhat condescending, mocking. Twin number one smirked broadly, "Really? She looks more like the solitary type to me." Twin two blinked and then gave forth a mock serious nod, "The type to avoid conversation? Then why the greeting?"Twin number one shrugged his shoulders, "Who knows. Should we greet back?" Twin number two nodded, a grin on his ugly mug. Then, together, they both pinpointed her with their eyes, "Salutations."

Of course, they found their greeting to be quite humorous, so both twins broke out in a fit of snickering. It didn't last long- approximately thirty seconds. However, it did serve as an indication that the boys were odd, to say the least.

Torment kept herself on her feet, no need to sit down in front of these two.. well she really wasn't sure if she could even call them wolves. They didn't really act or appear like any of the wolves she had ever come in contact with. Ah well it didn't matter much really they could act however they wished it was and really never would be any of her business. They spoke to each other like she was not really even standing before them, but that didn't really matter either since well they coud do what they wished. Torment never claimed to be queen of the forest so she could not complain.

They appeared to be a tad bit polite, at least when they decided that they wanted to speak to her. It wasn't really nice to be back in the company of other wolves but she supposed that she could have come across someone who really didn't find her amusing, or something amusing at least and would have rather eaten her. She looked over the mental picture of herself and figured that she wouldn't be very appetizing since she had not gotten a good meal in a long time. That rabbit hadn't been very much to speak of.

Anyhow back to the ... well she figured she would call them twins since they seemed quite similar. "I.. uh... I'm Torment. Do you call yourselves anything?"
