These are IC laws which your character likely knows and should follow. ...unless they're a rebel, that is... (in other words, these are "optional") They still have consequences if broken, however, if not just IC ones. (Most of these are fairly obvious things that relate to a wolf's behavior.) I. Alphas must be treated with respect and never questioned. II. All higher ranking wolves than yourself must be treated with respect. Lower ranking wolves can be treated like dirt if you wish. This excludes pups and elders, of course. III. Pups and elders must be respected and or cared for. IV. If you can't keep up, you're left behind. V. Never meet the gaze of a higher-ranking wolf unless they initiate the contact. It is considered disrespectful and can start dangerous fights. VI. A loner which trespasses without good reason may be killed. VII. Outcasts may never return to the packlands, or else they will be treated without mercy. In other words, they get killed. VIII. Loners should announce their presence by the borders, though they may cross if they wish. IX. If a high-ranking wolf approaches a lower-ranking wolf, the latter should show proper respect by lowering the tail, ears, and head. But that isn't enough for some wolves. If the higher-ranking wolf continues to demand respect, one must roll onto their back and expose their neck and belly in full submission. X. The alpha always eats first and begins pack hunts. Exception: Pups are allowed to eat alongside the alphas. |
