Don't even ask if you can be a Darosuke. The answer is 'no'. I'll give you the get go with one of your character names when the power should awaken. Usually, it only awakens when around dragons, and though there are some exceptions... The power doesn't come easily. |

- The powers of a Darosuke are still shrouded in mystery. There are many things that they are capable of doing, but the most well known fact about their powers is that they are the bringers, and changers, of life. - Everything within their powers is limited only by their amount of energy and by their imagination. But the source of their energy is not what most people would expect, or easily believe. To be able to use their genetic power, they have to sacrifice their lives, in a way. For the source of their energy is their very own life force. For each time a Darosuke uses his or her powers, they are touching their very existence. And if one would use their powers too much, they could easily fall into a comatose state, or on the larger occasions, they could pass away. Even and immortal can be turned mortal if they overuse their energy, but gratefully, most people pass out before this is ever achieved. - Their powers are for the sole purpose of being able to help life and others. It has been said that the Darosuke soul fades, or dies, when a human turns into a cold hearted murderer. That those people that take pleasure in the pain of others, do not have a Darosuke soul. The Darosuke can only work their powers to their fullest abilities when they want to help someone else out. When it comes to their own simple pleasures, the powers seem more eager to wane and sputter than to connect with the life stream that it uses. But the more practice that a person has in controlling their powers, the less life force it will steal upon each connection with genetics. -A little warning though, Darosuke powers can be quite tricky to understand, for it is easy to make a mistake when using it. It is like trying to make a puzzle in the dark, when you are using pincers to hold the pieces and put them together. One has to search for the right fit, but at times, that fit can be quite hard to attain. And it can easily leave people frustrated. But think of Darosuke powers like a jigsaw puzzle… Many pieces may seem to fit together, but whether or not it is the correct piece determines if the magic will work in the way that you desire it to work. |

Legend of the Darosuke Within every single living humanoid being, there is said to be a second soul that resides deep within the first soul’s core. This soul contains power beyond the imagination of man. However, it is also a power that could corrupt any living human, for it is a power that brings life, and a power that should not be able to take life. But, as the humans have created, some use this ability as a form of taking life. Yet, such an action does come with the direst of consequences. But, one must keep in mind, a power that can give so much to people, also demands very much in return. And this soul demands something very special indeed. Life. The soul, we call it the Darosuke, is a being forever asleep within the darkest abyss of a body. It is said that they will never wake up, should never wake up. They are supposed to perish before ever blinking to life, and, in doing so, keeping the bearer unaffected by its powers, and the consequences of the death of the soul. Yet, in some, the soul merely remains asleep, forever dormant. It tries to live on. Yet, it lives in a life that it will never be able to fully experience. It is merely the watcher as its bearer keeps pushing it out of its life, keeping it in the deepest part of their souls. And so, like humans, there are some Darosuke beings that are kept in the dark, forever ignored. We call those people HADs and HAFs, because they only have partial power. It is a partially awaked soul, whose powers remain dead to the world. Or, it can also be described as a dying soul that is being kept alive only by the life-line of the first soul. But, with the people in which the soul does fully awaken, those people belong to the Weyr. When a Darosuke soul fully awakens, not only does the bearer become HAD and HAF both at once, however, they can feel every single emotion that resonates from dragons, and their cousins. Not a single word is gone unheard, not a single moment of fear gone unfelt. One can even feel the dragons through times, if the dragon is at least within the past three years, or turns if you prefer, in range. So this power makes them also indispensable to the Weyr. However, there is another secret with the awakening of the power. When the soul is awakened, between is said to change. No longer is it the dark torrent of never-ending cold and fear. Rather, it becomes an endless sea of souls, forever following the same continuous flow that it has followed throughout the centuries, probably throughout its whole existence. But if one would think that this is enough, it isn’t. The Darosuke seems to turn its bearer into some sort of winged creature, a demonic winged creature. In truth, we have one demonic wing, and one angelic wing. Talk about the odd assortment of wings, however, they work very well together, and seem to have the capacity of being withdraw into one’s back, which is welcomed. Also, we have a second pair of wings. It is a very odd sort of wings, wings created out of pure energy. They are formed by different bolts of lightning reuniting, bolts of different colors, red, yellow, blue, purple, orange, and white. They only appear within the darkness of between; however, if one were to have those wings pass through them during the day, the energy creates a feeling of a hundred needles touching one’s skin. Not only does the soul grant the bearer wings, and sight within between, it also grants the bearer the power to change genetics. The souls in between are seen for a reason. With the Darosuke, one has the capabilities to touch those souls, much as they can touch you. A Darosuke can actually take that soul out of its cold, moving prison and drag it back to life. For a Darosuke is given the ability to be able to play around with Genetics, something that other planets call DNA. Not only can they manipulate it, but they can create it by using other genetics as a base for whatever they wish to create. They can change hairstyles, colors, make plants grow, change a plants resistance to certain things, change a human’s immunity system, etc. It seems that barely anything is outside our grasp… Perhaps, except killing someone with the magic. Of course, it is possible; however, it takes such a great toll upon the body, and the mind. It isn’t worth it. And so, that soul that we take out, we can give it a body in which to anchor its soul. So, the powers of a Darosuke are far and wide, yet, at the same time, some of them can be bitter sweet. When the power awakens, memories and images become clear, nearly forever imprinted within one’s mind. All one has to do is look at something once, and if they wanted to, years later, they could recall that day with frightening clarity. It even has a toll on the dragons that they impress. The dragons share the same memory capability as their rider. And not only that, they don’t need images to blink between anymore. They simply need to have a faint idea of where they are headed, and they can take you there. But the dragons can also see, and breathe, between without any troubles what so ever. Creating this as a much desired ability, and one that we must keep secret at all costs. Forever recorded, Kiralatis |

The Powers of the Darosuke I have been given the choice to write out whatever I have discovered about the Darosuke powers… And I must admit to you, that what I am about to write could be totally wrong if you were to read it in your own perception. The powers of a Darosuke react much differently in every single body that they awaken in. Maybe you will be lucky, maybe your powers will awaken as mine have, however, if they don’t, I simply hope that this gives you the correct information. If it doesn’t, well, you have a very long road of discovering just what those powers can do. The power of a Darosuke is only limited by the amount of one’s energy and one’s imagination. Not to mention that it does depend on the fact if one can outsmart one’s soul too. The source of energy that the second soul feeds upon is from one’s own life force, and not the magical energy that most magics feed off of. We are called the bringers and changers of life. If only people knew how much we must sacrifice to give life to another person. If used in excessive amounts, this energy could kill, or turn an Immortal into a mortal. Luckily, I’ve seen people pass out before they have reached that limit. And trust me, I choose not to think of the consequences of such actions. The powers, it seems, only work at its fullest when it is to help another person. When it comes down to using it for selfish needs, it tends to take more energy, and become harder and harder to use. So if a human is a murderer for the sole pleasure of it, the soul has a chance of dying. But in some people, it doesn’t die, but if it doesn’t awaken, one wouldn’t see the point of having it in the first place. The good thing about it is that the more you practice with it, the less energy it takes to use it. This can be quite the help if one would consider the fact that large spells could risk your death also. Much of the Dar Magic, as I call it, is still mysterious and new to me. The powers are tricky, and quite hard to understand. I like to compare it to a puzzle. When you are using the magic on someone, you have to feel for the right fit. Rather, it is like trying to make a puzzle in the dark, and you have about a thousand pieces. You have to try to take every single route, when you know that there is only going to be one right fit. So, instead of merely taking any one of them and just placing it upon the puzzle, one would have to try many pieces to make sure that they have the perfect fit. That is how Darosuke Magic works. If you are changing genetics, you have to keep your genetic goal in mind, and start to rearrange the whole genetic formation until you know that it is the right fit for what you are thinking of. But, it is more or less of a jigsaw puzzle. It takes many tries before you can get the right sequence, but when you do, the outcome is what you expect. There are some people that have a natural talent with this… And when it is thought over just enough, and correctly, sometimes you can get the perfect feeling with the first try. One must not be afraid of mistakes. I’m guessing this is why I’d recommend using the magic with another Darosuke. If you give them three noses and eight hundred eyes, they will more likely only laugh and comment upon the fact that they are in need of many pairs of sunglasses. Oh, another warning, if you please. I’d like to let you know a little secret of mine, though, if I’m writing this down, it won’t be a secret for long. When one tries to drag something out of between, or if one is trying to figure out how to heal someone, or bring something back… What you are truly doing is replacing whatever it is you are changing with bits of your own soul. I just want to warn you to be aware of that fact. Don’t do anything insanely stupid if you can not handle the surge of power that will be needed to accomplish such actions. Really, if someone needs to be revived, ask a Darosuke that has had their powers awakened longer than yours, and not only by a few days… Healing is simpler, in a way, but bringing back the dead is a challenge that one should not attempt alone. Oh, and one last thing, in case of emergencies, please do remember that Darosukes can actually combine their powers with another Darosuke. So, two heads are better than one… Or, if you are lucky, ten heads are better than two. Please keep that in mind. The one who is lost as to why she has to write this, Naelorynn, Aka, Rynnie |
