Shireven Status: They are companions, however there are large colonies of them in the wild. Description: Shirevens are small mouse-like creatures, who almost resemble the old earthen mice, if one could ignore the small abnormalities that these creatures do possess. The Shireven are small in size, only being about 2 to 3 inches high and about 8 inches long, from the tip of their nose to the tip of their tails, their tails being the same length as their body. These creatures have two different colored eyes. One eye always has a pale ice-blue iris color and a glowing red pupil, while the other eye can be any color at all, though their pupil is always black. Their ears are slightly larger then the old mice, but also pointier, giving them sharper hearing that can reach farther distances. Their feet are different too, of course they have their small, slim toes but upon the base of their feet are small suction cups, giving them the ability to be able to cling to a dragon’s hide and walk across the hide as easily as on land. It is like their second home. The Shireven may be small, but don’t let their size fool you. They have an amazing ability that leaves them to be much desired. These creatures can create between-like portals, which can not only lead someone between without a dragon, but bring them from one place to the other through a portal without needing to see the coldness of between though one still feels it. They can make the portals any size, and they can also change the portals to be able to bring someone between, which comes in handy for dragonriders with tired dragons. The passage way is clear and it is only a one way path that needs no thinking. These creatures come in any variety of colors and they are very trustworthy, honest and loyal, most of the time. They can also speak mentally, which is what they usually do, but they are also capable of speaking the humanoid tongues, which aid them in communicating with others, but telepathy is usually the method of conversation that they use. Personality: They are ideal pets, though they aren’t exactly pets either. They are more like friends or partners and preferred to be treated on that level. However they can be chosen like one would pick a cat or dog at the store, or they can choose. The liberty is theirs. What is most known about the Shireven is that they are their own master as well. They can listen one day, and not listen the next, it all depends on them... They are very friendly, and not a threat in the least, but their intelligence can get ahead of them. Areas Found: Found in many plains, and tundras. They can also be found in deserts... Or anywhere around Inora, really... Reproduction: They are great parents and they can have up to four young. There is no knowledge as to how much they can use their powers in a day, but they do tire like dragons, so they can’t just create portal after portal to make someone happy, they too have their limits. They can create their portals at the age of 7 months, which means that they reach their full maturity at that age. >> Back to the First Post << |

Ultara Status: Menaces on all accounts, however there are some people crazy enough to catch a kitten and keep it as a pet. Description: The Ultara are feline creatures about the size of a Siberian tiger, give or take. They inhabit forests, mountains, and sometimes abandoned buildings which makes them a very big threat to have around, though the last is only when the need is great. With a subtle range of colours, the Ultara are usually brown, tanned, or darker coloured. There are some deep black ones that appear to have a blue-ish sheen when under the correct light, and white ones deep within the Alpes, however the survival rate of those colours is lower because they are either in places where there is little food, or little cover. Swift and agile, the Ultara are all muscle and strength. Add claws and fangs into the fray and you have quite the creature, however, that isn’t all that these magnificent hunters own as tools. Each Ultara, at the turning of their first year, gain the powers to create a shield of energy around themselves and a fifteen meter rang all around, covering up to 30 meters. They use this shield to trap their prey where they can hunt and chase without the outside world coming in. If a dragon were to be within the range, despite being long, the shield would take the dragon’s form, thus trapping the dragon within a small space with a small creature ready to tear it to shreds. These creatures can also communicate with images and emotions, amongst each other and to other beings. The one way to recognize if you are around an Ultara is by their eyes. They are all known for their pale grey eyes that often appear cold and cunning. Their eyes simply shine with dangerous intelligence that warns that it is best to stay away from. Somewhere in the world, there are certain Ultara that have a gene defect, giving them blue eyes, but they are very uncommonly seen. Personality: The Ultara are ferocious and despicable creatures. Fiendish and the absolute hunter, they’ll eat anything as long as it has meat that they can sink their fangs in, and shred apart with their claws. Wickedly intelligent, they are as calculating as an older Furilos at a young age, and have perfected the act of leading their prey away from anything that might save them. Not loyal in the least, they seem to have a certain respect for family. Which is probably the only thing that saves their owners if someone catches one young enough... How they got passed the mother, one can only wonder. Areas Found: They can be found almost all over Inora, however they are mainly found in the dense forests where easy food can be found. Some are even found in the high mountains. Reproduction: The Ultara are very solitary creatures that come together once ever 2-4 years to mate. However, most often, it is a male forcing itself upon a female, still, that male has to be stronger than the female. Now that would be the only problem in reproduction because males and females are almost equal in strength. Females are capable of bearing from up to 5 cubs, often running away and hiding them where nothing can harm them, and where they can find easy prey. Unfortunately, abandoned buildings are perfect for this in towns and cities. >> Back to the First Post << |

Watch-Wher Status: Companions, but they are commonly used as watchdogs in holds Description: These creatures look like ugly, malformed dragons that were created by Wind Blossom. Whers, as they are also called, have small wings and when fully grown, they weigh between 600-800 pounds. They can grow to be the size of a small, low-slung horse. They move with incredible speed and are photophobic, able to see perfectly at night. Their senses of smell and hearing are as keen as their night vision. Their colors are only the 5 traditional colors and when they impress, they automatically send their riders their name through feelings and that name only ends in ‘sk’. The more the Wher’s name resembles its human mate’s name, the stronger the bond. (Gold, Bronze, Brown, Blue, Green) Personality: Whers are not as intelligent as dragons, but they are Impressable and adore their human mates with the same devotion and empathy as their larger cousins. They have to be well trained since they are very territorial and would kill anyone they deemed a threat. Areas Found: Everywhere Preferred Habitat: Somewhere dark, or at least somewhere where they can hide until nightfall Reproduction: Whers have clutches, much like their draconian kin, but instead of flights, they have 'runs', due to their limited flight capacity. Their clutches usually range somewhere between 4 to15 eggs, but, on average, ithey clutch 3 to 8 eggs. Instead of Impressing, the would-be owner of a Wher must create a blood-bond and feed the little one upon hatching. >> Back to the First Post << |

Yaltoren Status: Kept as pets, however there are many in the wild. Description: A Yaltoren is a wolf-like creature; the largest of their kind can grow to be almost two heads bigger then an earthen wolf while the smallest can grow to about half the size of one. They have elemental abilities, and to be able to tell which element they control, one would have to look at the tip of their ears, which glow and spark with the substance of their element. The element of their control seems to swirl around their legs except for dark and light elementals, theirs legs either glow brightly when light, or seem shadowed and shrouded in mystery when dark. Their fur usually has only a base color while the secondary color would be that of their elemental color. Their secondary color dances across their fur in patches or stripes and doesn’t seem to have an exact pattern. Example: A Fire Yaltoren would have flames at the tip of his ears, fire swirling around his legs and red spread here and there throughout his fur. The colors describe their elements: Red for Fire (Common) White for Ice (Common) Blue for Water (Common) Yellow for Lightning (Common) Green for Wind (Common) Brown for Earth (Common) Gold for Light (Common) Black for Dark (Common) Gray for Spirit (Uncommon) Purple for Storm (Uncommon) They can speak telepathically to their bonded or whomever they choose. And this is often how they choose their own bonded also. However, if young enough, a humanoid could easily keep going back to a litter, if the mother permits, and keep petting one or two pups of its choice, thus creating a bond with them, and making it more likely that they will choose that person at an older age. Personality: The Yaltorens are very loyal creatures who rarely disobey or do anything to respect their owners. They are very protective and sensitive to those to whom they bond. Wiling to do nearly anything for their companions, they do hold a certain wisdom that will often keep their owners out of too much trouble. When they are pups, these wolf-like creatures are very hyper and playful, and everything is a game to them. It is only as they mature that they tend to pay more attention to the world around them, and they realize that the world doesn’t revolve around their companions. Areas Found: Found mainly in heavily wooded areas, the Yaltorens are mainly found in captivity. Easily found within the Dark Forest of Ebranor and Kithkanan continent Reproduction: Yaltorens usually live with their mates, shooing their children off when they are old enough to find a mate. Choosing a companion around their first or second year, they stay with that companion until one or the other pass away. After that, they very rarely choose another one, unless they are still fairly young. The Yaltoren are capable of bearing up to 6 pups per litter. >> Back to the First Post << |

Zulis Status: Said to be a Pet... More commonly known as a Menace Description: A Zulis is a little bird-like creature that resembles an earthen Wagtail. These birds grow to be about 7-8 inches in size. They can come in almost all colorings though they are unique to most creatures because they have a gem with which they are born in the center of their chest. These gems seem to say which power they will hold. These creatures are quite mischievous, often looking like an innocent creature, but innocence shouldn’t be taken without its own price. They love to do things and often seek attention. When their owner is on their good side, the Zulis will often try and please its owner, in anyway its single ability can, though if it dislikes someone, watch out. They will easily test their powers on others they don’t like, for their pleasure or to embarrass and/or annoy the one they do not like. The Zulis’ have the powers of hexes, illusions and some magic. They can only last for about an hour when they are fully-grown and in perfect health. But even when they are young, just hatched, their spells can last up to twenty minutes. These spells can be told by the kind of gem that is situated on their chests. An Amber gem means that they can create illusions. An Emerald gem means that they can cast a dancing hex. A Tektite gem means that they can immobilize/levitate things. The Malachite gem means that they can cast a paranoid hex. A Lapis gem means that can change someone’s mood. A Sodalite gem means that they can cast an obeying hex. The Tiger Eye gem means that they can cast a love spell. A Zircon gem means that they can cast a spell to make you speak your mind. Personality: The Zulis are little nutcases of a pet that seem to have a mind of their own. Natural pranksters with a tendency to take tantrums, they believe that they are always right and their personalities are almost always less than desirable. They are hyper, possessive and tend to believe that the whole world should bow down to them. Nothing flies pass their amazingly cunning minds that can remember details very precisely for years on end. Chatterboxes and often very rude creatures, it isn’t the childish ones that people should be worried about but the quiet serious ones. It is those that tend to plot and plan, making their chaos absolute. Areas Found: Mainly around the Kithkanan Forests, however these little pests can be found nearly anywhere where there are trees. Reproduction: The Zulis choose their mates as randomly as they take mood swings. Not known for their affectionate love, these birds can sometimes love their bonded and thus never mate. When they do, it is as random and chaotic, resulting often in the show-off-y-ness of their powers. They are capable of clutch 2 chicks. Their young bear no resemblance to their parents, so it is always unknown the Zulis that will hatch. >> Back to the First Post << |
