Meteors and Asteroids Meteors and asteroids are often seen traveling through the atmosphere, and sometimes they threaten to fall towards the ground. It is uncommon that it happens but it does happen and it is at that time, when the dragons have to go up against them, with the ability of telekinesis. Back to the First Post |

Miasma Every once in a while, miasma will start to wander inside the atmosphere without a warning, and it is the dragons that have to try to get it under their control before it spreads too far out. Not to mention with the help of magic-users. Back to the First Post |

Natural Disasters Natural disasters can be anything from typhoons to volcano eruptions. Often they strike without much warning, but to those that read the signs, there is ample time to avoid complete disaster. However, nothing can stop these natural disasters, and people can only hope to live through them, whether it be a hurricane, tidal wave, or an earthquake. Back to the First Post |

Thread It seems that when the Red Star wasn’t rotating around Pern’s orbit, it was traveling around Inora’s! Though Threadfall doesn’t last as long on this planet, it still comes around once in a while, and there is no warning to when it is going to fall, since there are other planets that pass through the same path as the Red Star and make more thread to fall. Whiskan Wiskan is another type of thread, or so people presume. It is more dangerous and has no given pattern, it looks like thread, but it burrows faster. Not only does it harm when it touches someone, it seems to poison then and give them many illnesses. It is almost like another type of poison and riders often have to fight Wiskan with a poison mask, which they had to invent when up in the air. No one knows what brings this on, but it doesn’t fall from the sky that often and when it does, it is only for about an hour, if that. No one else except the dragon riders knows about this. It is another one of the Weyr’s secrets to protect the Holds and Halls from going frenzied. Back to the First Post |
